@@Brindlebrother I totally disagree. Deadlocked has the merit to be one of the hardest Ratchet games ever. Plus, there's the coop mode which is unforgettable. The game also keeps the same vibe of the first three ones, Ratchet is more badass than ever, weapon mods system is definitely better. You can't say Deadlocked is shit.

Deadlocked is the same case, which is why CLANK was dropped from the name to differentiate it from other titles (the devs said so). It was an attempt to chase the perceived changing market trends at the time, especially drawing from halo (the devs said so). The story was made darker and even Ratchet was made literally more angular to reflect that (the devs said so). Deadlocked was a mindless repetitive arena shooter experiment one-off for people who like that stuff. The issue with changing long-standing formulas is that it's polarizing. They tried to make Spyro super serious with the Legend series and it wasn't as well-received, so it was redone with Reignited; they tried to give Shadow a gun, and then the Sonic series went back to what worked; Ratchet&Clank has gone through many experiments as well, but what do you know, they went back to what the fans love with Into the Nexus, Crack in Time, and Rift Apart. (Apparently market trends were not as different as they thought.) Deadlocked takes one aspect of the first games and makes a whole game about that one thing. You're allowed to like it. Deadlocked is not an awful game, but it is rated the lowest of the first four games. So I say Deadlocked poopoo
What I like about Ratchet & Clank is that they never lost their touch. Almost All the games are fun to play, the humor are timeless and the story in the future saga is great. It's one of my favourite game series ever.

Up Your Arsenal, Going Commando, and Crack in Time were easily some of the best games I've ever played. So much personality, challenge and creativity Rift Apart was gorgeous and cheeky but man was it too short
The three you named also happen to be my favourite three. I'd also put the original up there with them for the nostalgia, some of the planets, the music, and the comedy. I actually liked seeing Ratchet start off selfish and sarcastic instead of being a hero from the start.
@@ShizuruNakatsu The newer ones are aimed at kids now, whereas the older stuff was anyone who would play. I never enjoyed the first game, and the second game was hard, the third was my fav. However I noticed the games got really easy past deadlocked, and the stories predictable. Not saying anything bad about them, I love all the games, never played size matters or finished Qforce and Secret Agent Clank. The new ones have their flare as good looking and fast paced with round-like combat. The older stuff by comparison was more exploratory. Also thought I would mention it, UYA and Deadlocked are my absolute 2 favs since over the two games Ratchet's personality does slowly become quite a bit more arrogant and the darker plot seems to effect him more.
Those 3 are definitely my favorites as well. Gladiator was also really good, but I can see people not liking it as much if you didn't play it co-op. Me and my brother, sometimes my cousin or friends as well, we're always fighting for who's turn it was. Co-op allowed us to both play at the same time. It wasn't until a few years later, when the ps3 came out, that we first experienced playing online against other people. Then a few months after that when other friends started buying the ps3, what it was like to play together online.

Just ordered the 1st 3 Ratchet & Clanks after dusting off my old ps2! I played Sly Coopers first 3 games & fell in LOVE (have any of you guys played it? 2 & 3 were WAY better than the 1st imo), he pretty much ruined me for any other games. Sly fans recommended Jak & Daxter (playing 1st 3 games now) & R&C so I'm excited to see how it stacks up! of course my age (50+) plays a big factor, realizing my brain & hands don't work together like they use to..so for now the games where there's not a lot of complicated button sequences to remember are good...hoping to level up after exercising my coordination..😅🤞🏻

Honestly this new one, rift apart is amazing. I grew up in ratchet and clank games, more specifically the good ones lol like 1, 2, and 3. Also I personally was a big fan of deadlocked but sadly everyone else felt differently. Anyways when I booted up rift apart.. my mind was blown. I was in awe. The amount of progress the game had made and just what I was playing was stunning and beautiful. Ratchet and clank will always be in my top favorite games of my entire life
I love the ratchet and clank series and alway's have since the first game was released in 2002. Some of my favorite ratchet and clank game's are ratchet and clank (2002), going commando, up your arsenal, ratchet and clank future: tool's of destruction, a crack in time, ratchet and clank (2016) and size matter's. I really wanna play rift apart I heard good thing's and it look's great so I can't wait to play it.

i understand people saying the controls improved and all (from 1-3)and i agree to an extent but the very first one feels like an arcade game and in a good way imo the mechanics of the game is part of its charm to me and seems under appreciated
@@osamamemon3608 uk u can technically strafe in rachet 1 if u equip the thruster pack and double press r1 but its pretty glide-y, but i understand, however the challenge makes it better to me the other games are so easy not that i dont like and play them cause i do still but the first controlls are very specific if uk how to use them plus i play claw so i use both sticks i dont get camera issues :)
Ratchet and Clank Ritf Apart is a game that blew me away and was probably the most impressive game I've seen in a while, and it's also impressive that this franchise is one of the strongest out there

Hard to believe I've been playing these games for 20 years! Ratchet and Clank has stayed true to its self after all this time! The games are still quite short but they are so fun to play, the characters, the story, the weapons and combat all just so easy to relax and play!
My favorite franchise to this day I remember playing all the ps2 orginals and crack in time with my older brother, great times I still think the ps2 games still look gorgeous and to me definitely aged the best from sixth generation.
Man I love the Ratchet and Clank series. Each game is fun to play, and you love the interactions between the two main leads, and how you watch those characters evolve since the first game. Rift Apart was a phenomenal title (even though it felt pretty short, completed it in 2 days), I'm really hoping the next title won't be too far off, the story is heading in an interesting direction and I can't wait to see what happens next and see how much further they can push the PS5's limits. On a seperate note, we really need a new Sly Cooper game. Kinda sad a PS4 title never got made.

The game before rift apart was the first ratchet and clank game I have ever played and I instantly fell in love. I’m currently playing the new one and I am even more in love with it.
Out of the PlayStation trio ratchet & clank are by far the ones that have basically reached the next stage. That goes to show you just how far they've come.

I liked ratchet and clank 2 locked and loaded but I wish that the classic ratchet and clank games on ps2 and ps3 were imported onto ps4/ps5 for the 20th anniversary.
As much as the new one looks really cool, the ps3 versions will always hit different. Personally A Crack In Time was my favorite. The next thing insomniac should do is remaster the ratchet and clank collection and future series for ps5 or ps6. That would be REALLY awesome!!!
Ratchet & Clank was the first game I ever owned on the PS2. I must've been around 8 years old, my mum would let me play for 30 - 45 mins each day. I remember finishing the game and saving up for that wonder weapon that was like a rocket blaster, once I got it I felt complete. I also got 2 and 3, they really set the standard for me of what sequels should be like. Such good times....
my very first console was a PSP that I got for Christmas, R&C Size Matters came with it. My BIL and sister gifted it to me, (RIP BIL, one of my fond memories) and loved it. Sadly, it was stolen a few years later. I never had the chance to play the other ones but once I got the PS5 recently, I saw the remake was for sale. I got it, finished it and now playing Rift Apart. The graphics back then have changed, my young mind still remembers it as the visuals in today's game. 😆
Going commando was my first game and I loved it. I put 100s of hours into it beating the game countless times and I wish there was a continuation of Angela Cross’ character.
These games are great for sure. The only thing that I found confusing was the decision to focus on a younger demographic in the newer games . It doesn't really matter overall but it does feel a bit like they forgot that the original fans were getting older not younger so it seems as though the original atmosphere created in the game was sacrificed to bring in a younger audience. That being said the improvements to the game play make it a bit of a wash.
I have a feeling they wanted Ratchet and Clank to be some kind of mascot or something for the franchise to make money off from a younger audience? Even though the ps2 games satire and whatnot goes against the newer games...

This was the first game I ever owned. I never had a PS1. My dad got me a PS2 for xmas and R&C was bundled with it. Beautiful and easier time.

the thing is, strafe shooting works way better for combat, plus R&C 1 had terrible camera issues that made things restricting and annoying at times.

I'm SO excited after seeing your comment! I played Sly Coopers first 3 games & fell in LOVE...he pretty much ruined me for any other games. Sly fans recommended Jak & Daxter (playing 1st 3 games now) and just ordered the 1st 3 Ratchet & Clank...do you have any recommendations??
The game before rift apart was the first ratchet and clank game I have ever played and I instantly fell in love. I’m currently playing the new one and I am even more in love with it.

Out of the PlayStation trio ratchet & clank are by far the ones that have basically reached the next stage. That goes to show you just how far they've come.

Going Commando was my go to as a kid, I loved that one so much
I liked ratchet and clank 2 locked and loaded but I wish that the classic ratchet and clank games on ps2 and ps3 were imported onto ps4/ps5 for the 20th anniversary.
As much as the new one looks really cool, the ps3 versions will always hit different. Personally A Crack In Time was my favorite. The next thing insomniac should do is remaster the ratchet and clank collection and future series for ps5 or ps6. That would be REALLY awesome!!!

Ratchet & Clank was the first game I ever owned on the PS2. I must've been around 8 years old, my mum would let me play for 30 - 45 mins each day. I remember finishing the game and saving up for that wonder weapon that was like a rocket blaster, once I got it I felt complete. I also got 2 and 3, they really set the standard for me of what sequels should be like. Such good times....
my very first console was a PSP that I got for Christmas, R&C Size Matters came with it. My BIL and sister gifted it to me, (RIP BIL, one of my fond memories) and loved it. Sadly, it was stolen a few years later. I never had the chance to play the other ones but once I got the PS5 recently, I saw the remake was for sale. I got it, finished it and now playing Rift Apart. The graphics back then have changed, my young mind still remembers it as the visuals in today's game. 😆
Going commando was my first game and I loved it. I put 100s of hours into it beating the game countless times and I wish there was a continuation of Angela Cross’ character.
These games are great for sure. The only thing that I found confusing was the decision to focus on a younger demographic in the newer games . It doesn't really matter overall but it does feel a bit like they forgot that the original fans were getting older not younger so it seems as though the original atmosphere created in the game was sacrificed to bring in a younger audience. That being said the improvements to the game play make it a bit of a wash.
I have a feeling they wanted Ratchet and Clank to be some kind of mascot or something for the franchise to make money off from a younger audience? Even though the ps2 games satire and whatnot goes against the newer games...
Wish Playstation cared for Jak & Daxter and Sly Cooper as much as they care for Ratchet & Clank

Haven't had a Sony console since the PS2. Finally got a PS5 and am excited to revisit these, as well as playing the newer ones.

What I had found interesting was that I had predicted RaC Rift Apart about 4 to 5 years ago, part of a collection of childish dreams. Not everything in the dream was put into the game but a female lombax with a robotic limb was the main thing I predicted

the R&C:ra cutscene on the pirate ship in the intro used to be clank flying throw a rift but now they both get in it

Going Commando, Future Tools of Destruction, and Especially A Crack In Time, are some of the best platformers ever made. And some of the best games I've ever played.

Up your Arsenal is my all time favorite R&C game.there was so much to play for in those games not just trying to beat the story. Then going back and finding all the secret areas and what not.
