I’ve been quite curious, we’ve seen Ratchet’s bare feet in 2002, and after all these years we still haven’t seen his hands, I’m not trying to be weird, I’m just saying
What’s even crazier for the 2016 “Re-Imagining” for Rift Apart, is that you can see it 2 different ways (either by Movie or Game): 1.) This is Captain Quark’s re-telling of the events that happened, since he’s the one telling the story from within & we all know by now that he likes to exaggerate his endeavors to the point of lying, not just because of his own ego but because he’s dumb on top of it. So there are parts that are not there or truncated for time that he simply found boring & he would make the more action parts more exciting in different ways. Or 2.) (The one that I believe to be canon to Rift Apart): The 2016 game & movie is not canon, but is considered an “Alternate Dimension”. The 2016 game messes with the personality of Ratchet & Clank, along with the general events of the original story to make it more “kid-friendly”, but the idea of Rift Apart taking place in alternate realities makes much more sense given in hindsight. Also, Chairman Drek from the 2016 game/movie makes an appearance in Rift Apart, in the form of the Sheep inside the Bar/Battle Arena in the far corner at the Bar, which is confirmed to be inside a pocket dimension with constant rifts happening.

You ignored 3-4 Games that are Canon. Those are - Size Matters - Secret Agent Clank - All 4 One (which is literally even mentioned in later games) - Full Frontal Assault And you added the 2016 Remake and 2016 Movie, which both are NOT Canon. Insomniac said multiple times that 2016 Story is a Stand-Alone Remake that Sony wanted - and it failed. Hence why Insomniac said in 2017 that the Story said by Qwark is NOT Canon and isn't accounted for in the Timeline.
Ikr? I dont get why he added the ratchet and clank remake from 2016, and ignored the games you mentioned. The 2016 game is literally a remake of the first game, so it is not canon at all. The games you mentioned that he didn't add in the timeline are canon, so there is no reason to not include them as well. Also, Rift apart is NOT the sequel to the remake. It is the sequel to Into the Nexus, so I don't get why Insomniac games says that Rift apart is a sequel to both the remake and Into the Nexus. That makes no sense whatsoever, which is why I think Rift apart is only part of the original timeline, and not the remake's.
@@saragarnica723 Well, I think the reason behind why Insomniac kept giving us those all-around answers, instead of the straight-forward ones, was because they were doing so before the Game released. Because they stated very clearly in 2017 that the Remake and Movie are not Canon. Not to mention that they now also sometimes said that it's a Sequel to "kind of both" but in other posts they only mentioned "Into the Nexus" or just the "Future" Series overall.

Watching this makes me realize how important Rachet and Clank was to my childhood and how many games I’ve been missing! I’m 16 and the first game me and my you her sister ever played was Tools of Destruction. Then Rift in Time, followed by All Four One(me and her remeber it a little too well). I don’t think we ever finsihed those games fully and when my dad sold our ps3 we were devastated. Granted we got a ps4 in exchange for it and the probably 50 games we had for it we were still upset. Thanks dude I knew so many of these weren’t weird fever dream memories I think we actually had more games due to some other factors of the story stirring soem memories for me.
A similar thing happened to me, the first game of this franchise I played was Up your arsenal. When I was getting a ps4 for Christmas my mum suggested we give away the ps2, as little as I knew I allowed it to happened thinking it's pointless to have now. As time passed I realize I was wrong, especially considering the remake of the first game. However now that I've built my own PC and discovered emulators I can finally relive those memories.
The ps5 game is supposed to be the first of the ps5 trilogy of games, so expect two more games along with the 20 year Ratchet and Clank anniversary 2022. I was fortunate enough to get a ps5 a month after the game released and I pre-odered the game so I had my copy still in its plastic. Its a truly an amazing game, I know I might seem a bit based, but I would give it along with A crack in time as the best Ratchet and Clank games ever made. I own and have played every single game in the series and I am a huge fan of the series, I love the games so much so when I feel a bit depressed I usualy boot up one of the games either ps2, psp, ps3, ps4 or now even ps5 and just play and the games never fail to just make me smile.

I played quest for booty when I was little and came back to the series when reboot released. Now I completed rift apart. I'm suprised that Lombaxes are so common in the series I thought Rivett was the first one after Ratchett
Thanks leaderboard for explaining it atleast right, but you should have underlined it more, that the 2016 game is indeed retelling the story of the first game out of Captain Qwarks view, which means the Original and the 2016 game happen at the same time from different perspectives. This is an important missing piece. There is so much confusion out there with the two games and how the 2016 game is seen (remake/ reboot) that this point should be made clearer. But though a good video.

One thing youre wrong about is that Tachyon did not die. He lives and even did encounter a new Powerful Alien Race. He could be becoming a Threat again to the Lombaxes. I think that would be the Big Finale. Tachyon has a new Army and goes after the Lombaxes. Ratchet defeats him and can finally be together with his Family and hopefully Girlfriend.

@@redbowrose4831 when? I missed it
I'm still waiting for a game with the evil doctor Huggs-and-kisses.
I’ve been quite curious, we’ve seen Ratchet’s bare feet in 2002, and after all these years we still haven’t seen his hands, I’m not trying to be weird, I’m just saying
I noticed that too. I kinda wanna know what bare lombax hands look like.
Actually that detective Clank game on the PSP has bare hands ratchet on the prison showers.
What’s even crazier for the 2016 “Re-Imagining” for Rift Apart, is that you can see it 2 different ways (either by Movie or Game):
1.) This is Captain Quark’s re-telling of the events that happened, since he’s the one telling the story from within & we all know by now that he likes to exaggerate his endeavors to the point of lying, not just because of his own ego but because he’s dumb on top of it.
9:14 I got an ad at the PERFECT TIME here! Not even mad.
Also, I love this series. Great video.
Qwark is a moron.... which is why we love him
What about a Jak and Daxter timeline
when naughty dog gonna do a brand new game and stop with cashgrabing the last of us and neil druckmann bs
@@BensyBens
Unfortunetly, for that to happen, Neil Druckmann would have to be fired.
Because he doesn't care what the Fans want.
He only cares about his stupid SJW Woke Agenda, that he likes to spread around everywhere...
I just beat Rift Apart. It was fabulous
First time I've played Ratchet and Clank it was on a PS2 in a cinema waiting area for kids. I was instantly hooked. Hope they will follow with more sequels Rift Apart was AMZAINGLY DONE
Ahhhh good times playing console games back then especially ratchet and clank at a cinema bet that makes some good memories
I got a feeling that they will split this game timeline into 2, like Ratchet&Clank /Rivet&Kit. It’s a possibility for me.
I'm still waiting for a new game :/
I honestly wish kids these days could just understand that feeling of popping in one of these discs on PS2 and beating them repeatedly. The RaC series is what got me into gaming.
Every gen says that about something they enjoyed
the one small adjustment I would make in the timeline is cramming All 4 one between 2016 and Rift apart. and i know you said no spinoffs but there are cutscenes in both Rift Apart and All 4 one that have Ratchet and Clank say that they are retired but that is never mentioned in previous games.
All 4 One came out in 2011
I'm going to be voicing Ratchet in an upcoming fan audio drama, so I found this pretty useful!
Good luck. I'm sure you'll do well.
@@belphy205 Thanks! Here's how it turned out: ruclips.net/video/OStqB-QlNSc/видео.html
thanks for explaining the ratchet clank timeline you really helped me understand how the 2016 game fit and how the new and final game enters the timeline...
Except that he made a lot of misinformation with that.
Because the 2016 Remake and Movie aren't even Canon by Insomniac's decision...
@@TheCursedCat1927 they literally said that rift apart is a sequel to both.
@@finnwhelan8442
Before the Game released.
After, they said that it's not to the 2016 Remake, because the Remake itself isn't Canon to the Timeline.
They only said that it has visual elements from the Remake, because they felt they fit better than the older Visuals.
@@TheCursedCat1927 source?
The ps2 Era games were awesome. Loved em to bits. Also going commando and up your arsenal are awesome titles.
Thanks for the last warning at 19:38 still waiting for my PS5 to play the game :)
One of the few series left that keeps it real man.
Some of us can't afford a PS5 (like me) so this video wasn't really a spoiler for me but more of a way for me to know the story :)
I can't but i honestly wouldn't buy one either, just another pre-built PC with a shitty OS that's only still alive cuz it keeps games hostage trough exclusives
not hard buying, just hard at finding...
@@mr.sunnyg5510 i mean, it's literally the most expensive console in the market atm, so not easy to buy either, specially in this economy
@@rompevuevitos222 tell your parents for Christmas or do some chores for money. Or get a part time job, My wife happened to get it for retail at a Best Buy just by calling & they happened to have a few in stock so we got it.
You ignored 3-4 Games that are Canon.
Those are
- Size Matters
- Secret Agent Clank
- All 4 One (which is literally even mentioned in later games)
- Full Frontal Assault
And you added the 2016 Remake and 2016 Movie, which both are NOT Canon.
@@saragarnica723
Well, I think the reason behind why Insomniac kept giving us those all-around answers, instead of the straight-forward ones, was because they were doing so before the Game released.
Because they stated very clearly in 2017 that the Remake and Movie are not Canon.
Not to mention that they now also sometimes said that it's a Sequel to "kind of both" but in other posts they only mentioned "Into the Nexus" or just the "Future" Series overall.
@@TheCursedCat1927 Ok thats good. I'm glad Rift apart follows where the last game left off, and is not a follow up to the remake.
He mentions that Spin-Offs not made by Insomniac are not included, Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank were developed by the Burbank based High Impact Games
@@ChaseMC215
I know that.
But if he wanted to make a Full Timeline, he should have included the Spin-Offs - because even tho they were made by a different Studio, Insomniac has stated many times that they are in fact Canon.
Hence why I pointed this out.
Is it just me after seeing Rivet, but Angela's head looks like what you'd get if you took Rivet's tail, turned it upside down, stuck it on the back of her head and painted it in Ratchet's colours.
Thanks dude I knew so many of these weren’t weird fever dream memories
I think we actually had more games due to some other factors of the story stirring soem memories for me.
Well considering how well this has sold I’d say it’s possible
Yep they are for sure 100% doing a ps5 trilogy
@@mattkugelman4369
It's not even about the Sales.
Insomniac stated - even before the game released - that "Rift Apart" would be a first game of the New Trilogy.
@@TheCursedCat1927 I know that I mean if it didn’t Sony would pull the plug on it, big entertainment companies don’t continue stuff if they underperform in the sales, I mean come on that’s obvious
@@mattkugelman4369
Well, here's the very interesting thing.
Sony aren't the ones that have Rights to the series of "Ratchet & Clank."
Insomniac Games techniclly have those Rights.
It's just that Sony own Insomniac as their sub-company and give them budget.
Finally another timeline I love these
Funny because I've only played up your Arsenal and the new rift apart, so I had to come here to know the history of the game pretty much 😀
I miss original Nefarious and Lawrence
Where does All 4 One fit in? Is it even canon?
I was like 8 when Ratchet and Clank first kicked in. Now i am 29 and still won't stop playing.
I only wish Sly Raccoon series had this many games...
That's what we needed.
Tachyon apparently isn't dead... He's stuck onna astroid arguing with a president villain (idk the villain bc I haven't seen read or played the game)
It goes: Ratchet & Clank 1, then Going Commando, then Up Your Arsenal, then Deadlocked.
That's it. That's the timeline.
A man of culture
A true man of culture.
What's wrong with the HD timeline? I love the PS2 games but I also loved The fact that the PS3 had such an interconnected story
@@joshuapierstorff9981 Watch B-Mask's video on it. Also TheGamingBrit's reviews on the Future games. Tells you all you need to know.
I have fun with the future series but MY Ratchet hasn't been around since the PS2.
Such a amazing series
Still think the rifts open so much possibilities for stories. (One being Rivet/Kit + Ratchet/Clank being playable, in a switching for solo play or co-op via two players. Four players if you count Kit and Clank being playable too. Two being Ratchet/Clank going through Rivets story, clank with Kits, and Rivet/Clank going through Ratchet and clanks story, also together and separate.)
You HAVE TO make a 107 facts about ratchet and clank videos
Ratchet deadlock would make so much money if they remastered it with multiplayer mode
And I still feel most nostalgia for R&C Size Matters for PSP.
size matters was the first i ever played on the psp, it wa san instant favorite i still love this series
Emperor Tachyon didn't die, he was sent to another dimension
How could you not include "Size Matters" in the timeline ? I mean, that's the game in which the duo, especially Ratchet, give the final step in growing up both to both mature people and real heroes
Because it wasn't developed by Insomniac Games
@@estebangutierrez160 but you've got to admit it was a game that added a lot to the growth of the characters as both people and heroes.
@@JabamiLain agreed
1. it wasn't developed by insomniac, high impact games developed it.
2. its not canon as well secret agent clank.
3. its the worst game in the franchise.
4. just watch the retrospactives videos of the ratchet & clank games on "the golden bolt" channel, they are way better than this click bait video.
@@BensyBens If the information I got was right, Insomniac did confirm that size matters is in fact canon. I forgot where I got that info, tho.
Ive yet to play the latest game but up your arsenal and ratchet deadlock were always my favorites

Just platinum this game and now this video shows up. Don’t I mind if I do.
Cool!!! I was trying to figure where I knew this voice from been a fan for a long time
@CabooseEK great video bro!
Deadlocked was the best ever. I want to play it again so bad. They need to remaster that game.
Yeah with the new game mechanics seen in a crack in time or rift apart new weapons new characters to play as an even better multiplayer imagine playing with friends and you play as ratchet beating up Captain quark or dr. Nefarious maybe come with cooldown abilities like the r.y.n.o or giant crank.
Still one of the greatest game series ever made. I enjoyed playing the HD trilogy collection and future trilogy when I was a teen. 🧡⚙️🔧🤖
I've been playing since the first one and it was really cool to play Rift Apart on PC even though my computer could barely handle it
the moment he started speaking i was like, "he sound familiar- OH ITS CABOOSE"
It is?
Why isn't he talking in his Caboose voice? You can't have Caboose without Caboose.
Oh god, another franchise that's as old a I am
4:50
Angela actually goes to see the Secret Agent Clank movie premier at the end of the third game
Favorite game has to be a crack in time, such a good emotional story combined with the best gameplay and so much to do! Followed closely by going commando cuz nostalgia, first one I played. Into the nexus is probably my least favorite, it was short and boring
I want a complete *R&C* collection of the entire game series for PS4/PS5.
My favorite was dreadzone blow it the f$@k up. I hope they remaster it.
they already remaster it on ps3 and... it wasn't a good remaster.
8:52 you forgot about size matters, although it is a portable, it is canon. (size matters comes after deadlocked.)
The first 3 games all absolutely god like but 2 is my favorite
I haven't played Quest for Booty, Nexus and the PS4 reboot, so a few things in series suddenly make sense.
Ratchet and clank up your arsenal is my favorite game of All time
I remember me and my cousin would play this game when we were younger on his playstashion omg my childhood.
This Franchise is one of my Favorites along with Kingdom Hearts!! Cant wait for the next Ratchet and Clank game along with KH4
Where does All for One fit in?
After A crack in time and before full frontal assault
They need to bring back the multiplayer from Up Your Arsenal, it was awesome
I love ratchet and clank so much!
They’re the best‼️
I just realized that crack in time and rift apart have the same villian story. Both times dr nefarious wishes a time line were he didnt lose.
Thank you for This video I enjoyed every part of it
It’s funny to hear this guy pronounce the words how they’re spelled but not how they say them in the game lol great video tho!
So the timeline is smooth one, no prequel and midquel
Yes. Not convoluted and split into multiple timelines like the Zelda timeline.
I don’t which one but one of the ratchet and clank games was the FIRST game I have ever played I was probably 3-5 years old when I played it with my older brother it’s funny how I grew up and the series grew up I forgot about ratchet until I saw Rift apart then saw the gameplay to realize wow that’s the guy from that one game I remember lol
My favourite franchise!!
How long has this channel been inactive before this video? And if The Leaderboard is active, why not Frederator's main channel?
I think Frederator got bought out by somebody. And thus they abandoned that channel.
Ratchet: Deadlocked remains my absolute favourite game in the series, personally. Really enjoyed Rift Apart, though.
Angela Cross also appears in UYA in the movie theater after you beat the game.
I just played all of these and i love this.

Maaaan that intro sequence to the first game is so special to me. I haven’t played it in so long yet I remember every word and scene exactly
I think he forgot Size Matters-
Rift apart blew me away
Gotta ask how is the 2016 game connected to the Rift Apart like are the events of that game the canon version of the events with a mix from the movie like did they retcon the backstory of Nefarious
