Great content, truly! Thank upu. I simply do not comprehend why GW so frequently avoids allowing a game effect to last until the affected unit is next activated. This is all one needs to do to make Quake and Shock Pulse useful.
Must be something to do with the alternate activations... perhaps suggesting that if you want to guarantee the lasting effect, you need to commit to firing it early... but then who's going to forego firing their shock & awe weapons first, just to make sure the enemy feels the full force of wobbly legs, for a little less movement?!
Engine Killer (2) does 3 damage to super-heavy vehicles and more importantly Titans (after Void Shields), it is the Warhound weapon to frighten enemy Titans.
Had the same thought. Not sure how much the blast would actually improve it, but at least it would then have something to recommend it over the turbo laser.
I see this all over the sub-reddit & facebook groups. While it is undeniably useful model-building advice it is not helpful as far as understanding how to equip warhounds or understand the interaction between the various guns.
Great vid! Just magnetising mine now:) Yeah they've done the Plasma Blastgun dirty. Shame as its going to be the most interesting to paint lol. Back in the OG titan legions it had a -4 save modifier, vs Turbo Laser Destructors' -2. It was 2/3rds of the range of the TLD too, not half. Ill be house ruling it I think
I'm 30 seconds into the video as I type this, and I'm thrilled to hear the rundown on warhound weapons, but I know in my heart it's going to be ursus claws for my audax hounds no matter what because Betrayer is the best HH book.
This was great, can you do the other Titan chassis too? I've not yet looked at what Reavers, Warbringer, Warlords or even Warmasters can bring but even if you cover the same weapons I think the context of them being on a different chassis might change their viability and it would be great to hear a considered run down of them and your thoughts on them in the game sizes they can be taken!
Great video .Wow , plasma blast gun really took a fall from its value compared to its use in AT.😂 Loving the idea of x2 swarm missles or x2 Volcan Mega bolters load out.
I appreciate you making this video mate. It's going to help me with the loadouts of my models. It's nice you did the thinking for us so we don't have to. 😅
Interesting stuff! I like the comparison between builds for AT vs LI. Sounds like the Ursus Claws (an iconic weapon from the books!) and the Blastgun are both under-tuned. Interesting look at the Forgeworld weapons, some excellent inspiration to pick up some of the more esoteric guns. Swarms/Grav, Dual-Beamers & Dual-Volkite all sound like a lot of fun.
My Warhounds are magnetised, but I will likely initially run two with: Vulcan/Graviton and Vulcan/Las to match my Titanicus Maniple. That said, I have considered putting two-of each weapon name in a hat and drawing two out for each Warhound before each game!
Where can one find the 'conversion beam dissolutor' and/or the 'graviton eradicator'? I do own both a Warhound (AT) box and the LI coreset but these 2 are not among the 9 (!) options I do have... Oh. And subscribed. Well deserved!
Maybe someone gave this idea in the comment section already, but loadouts I was considering would be Swarmer Misslies & Conversion Beam Dissoluter, Plasma Blastgun & Vulcan Mega-Bolter, Volkite & Melta, and twin turbo lasers. Mixing weapons based on ranges. I have 4 warhounds to work with currently
I'm convinced they just forgot to put blast on the titan's plasma weapons... They have it in adeptus titanicus, and they're all just bad versions of other guns without it.
If the Conversion Beam Dissoluter had beam you could first fire it on turn one and have a non trivial chance of destroying half the buildings on the table. Not giving it beam means it's balanced.
Just an example to feed the fire that is “GW will be issuing errata for errors to weapon profiles,” I spotted an example of play on pg. 76 in Split Fire that states the Plasma Blastgun has a 3-dice attack profile.
I'll probably house rule quake to be "until the end of the next movement phase". It's a shame to have a strategically interesting ability to go to waste. Also, unlike volkite which has deflagrate plasma is missing it's classic rules spice "gets hot for big damage" rules. It's odd there's no generic Gets Hot rule but we get wacky stuff like collapsing singularity. As for improvements I'd suggest Power Capacitor.
Under the rules for structures, there is a sentence that says “units in a structure count, the whole structure as being their base”. A very important sentence!
Good vid. Can you do knights if you haven't already. I think i recognize that voice and if I say that you should, just play in Liverpool I guess you'll know what I mean. 😉
The Plasma Blastgun was the single most overpowered weapon in Adeptus Titanicus. In a way it's good to see it brought down a bit for LI but they may have gone too far.
Hah, yeah, there are quite a few weapon options in LI that are like, who would ever take this? I feel like AOS did a great job of making simple unit costs with all the alternative weapons have a different role and function, but they haven't translated that to the 40k setting well yet, and even less so in LI/EPIC. I'm looking at you leman russ battle cannon...throw blast in there or something :D
I agree the matrix Lance isn't all that strong. Something to mention is that by having it on your warhound and even if it's not in fire first, your opponent has to make sure their titan activates before your warhound or risk losing much of the effectiveness of their titan for the turn. Think of it as a way to control your opponents activations, you can keep much of your guys in cover from the enemy titan forcing him to have to deal with your warhound first or risk losing their titan weapons for the turn. Also titans aren't that fast or maneuverable. Once you're in range you will stay in range.l as anything heavier than a warhound has to march to even have a chance of getting away. Situational I know but just something to think about
I'm greatly, greatly confused at the Inferno Gun being A tier. Had it had the old Torrent rule to give it some more range and some strong angle-game i might agree, but its SO SHORT and a Warhound getting that close to infantry is usually bad news. I struggle to even get the Infernus tanks to get any worth and theyre way cheaper for an AP1 version of that gun
I think the Titan Plasma Weaponry should have Blast (and possible was mean to). It just seems so off. Large Plasma Weapons are traditionally blast weapons in Warhammer, and as of right now Titans are largely missing blast (except the Mori Quake Cannon). The blast mechanic isn't very common in LI it seems, so IMO titan weapons, particularly the Plasma Weapons, are the perfect opportunity to add more blast to the game
@Hearesy I would almost debate running 3 in a larger game. Kinda wish all the larger titans could run 1 in the Formation as an add on. Be a cool flavor thing.
@@HearesyI’d love to see an analysis of Titan durability overall vs. vehicles and other Titans. For their high price, it sure looks like they are remarkably fragile, particularly against anything with Engine Killer. I need to get some games in, but it seems entirely too easy to one-shot a Reaver with a Warbringer Nemesis, for instance.
Something strange I've noticed is that while heavier plasma weapons have Blast in 40k, including the same plasma blastgun that's on the warhound titan, they don't in epic, even though epic uses blast templates. Do you think having Blast 3" would rescue the warhound plasma blastgun?
Cynical hat on - in AT plasma blast guns, are one of the best Warhound weapons, with the Plasma, Gatling blast gun being seen as the standard and most efficient load out. Having the PBG tuned so low for Legions, coupled with the fact that hounds and hound weapons are the trickiest to magnetise, it would seem to me To be a way for GW to money grab and force AT players who are more likely than not to want to get into Legions to get the new kits instead of being able to rely on their exist ling collections.
On the Ursus claw. Aren’t all titans in LI the same scale? So it’s a 4+ but then a straight roll off for damage that ignores voids. Seems okay to me, even if not great.
Ahh, I see re-reading the Impale rule. wounds remaining adding the extra results to your role, so against and I damaged larger Titan you are at a disadvantage.
So you're telling me most of the Warhound weapons that came in the Legions Imperialis starter box are actually naff? Lame. I'm really stuck between trying to use the cooler looking guns that came in the box or using the stubby little missiles for usefulness in-game.
So, roughly medium to good weapons in AT are not so good in LI and medium-good weapons in LI are not so good in AT. Time to invest in magnets and extra weapon sprues lol
"Gamesworkshop somehow always misvalues a reroll" oh boy aint that the truth.... 40k in the past is absolutely covered in GW giving some armies rerolls everywhere almost for free, and it baffles me. Sure i'd rather 3+ to hit vs 5+ with rerolls but thats about it, if i hit better than 5s if i can get a reroll it easily outscales better BS.
Fluff! The reason the Conversion Beam weapon hasn't got 'Beam' and the Volkite does, is that the volkite beam can be swept through a range of targets, hitting each along its path, but the Conversion weapons' beam of energy must be properly targeted in a given spot to generated the desired effect. #paraphrased
Great content, truly! Thank upu.
I simply do not comprehend why GW so frequently avoids allowing a game effect to last until the affected unit is next activated. This is all one needs to do to make Quake and Shock Pulse useful.
one could home rule this and note it with a simple marker
Must be something to do with the alternate activations... perhaps suggesting that if you want to guarantee the lasting effect, you need to commit to firing it early... but then who's going to forego firing their shock & awe weapons first, just to make sure the enemy feels the full force of wobbly legs, for a little less movement?!
Engine Killer (2) does 3 damage to super-heavy vehicles and more importantly Titans (after Void Shields), it is the Warhound weapon to frighten enemy Titans.
the weapon options, specifically the way they have zero points costs, really highlights the flaws in the "all weapons are equal!" thing
Think the plasma blast gun is missing small blast... Which it had in titanicus.
It’d be a nice touch
Definitely need something!
Had the same thought. Not sure how much the blast would actually improve it, but at least it would then have something to recommend it over the turbo laser.
With magnets 🧲
Magnets wont make an Ursus Claw any better :)
IME, Blu tack is good enough, as long as you're not playing in a really hot room 😊
I see this all over the sub-reddit & facebook groups. While it is undeniably useful model-building advice it is not helpful as far as understanding how to equip warhounds or understand the interaction between the various guns.
The problem is that they don’t have all the options listed in the rulebook in the launch box I personally used the swarmed missiles and the volkite
@@Hearesybut they do, you can remove them
Great vid! Just magnetising mine now:) Yeah they've done the Plasma Blastgun dirty. Shame as its going to be the most interesting to paint lol. Very good info on how to play warhounds for LI. Much appreciated.

Loving the idea of x2 swarm missles or x2 Volcan Mega bolters load out.
New to this form of hobby and this is super useful! Probably gonna go Vulcan and inferno on 1 then graviton and diss on another
Really, really interested in this. The Titan loadouts are so much more complex and interesting than the more narrow armoured units in LI.
I ran twin turbolaser destructors on one of my warhounds in Titanicus, and you better believe I'll be using it in LI.
I appreciate you making this video mate. It's going to help me with the loadouts of my models. It's nice you did the thinking for us so we don't have to. 😅

Thanks! Both are FW resin unfortunately :(
Plasma Blastgun instantly becomes a relevant option by simply adding (Blast 3") to it with no other changes.
Great video - thanks 👍
Any chance of similar for knights?
Maybe someone gave this idea in the comment section already, but loadouts I was considering would be Swarmer Misslies & Conversion Beam Dissoluter, Plasma Blastgun & Vulcan Mega-Bolter, Volkite & Melta, and twin turbo lasers. Mixing weapons based on ranges. I have 4 warhounds to work with currently
I'm convinced they just forgot to put blast on the titan's plasma weapons... They have it in adeptus titanicus, and they're all just bad versions of other guns without it.
Would be interesting to compare the conversion beam option to that of the Direwolf since they both fit in that same 1500 point game range.
If the Conversion Beam Dissoluter had beam you could first fire it on turn one and have a non trivial chance of destroying half the buildings on the table.
Not giving it beam means it's balanced.
The point wasnt that it should keep all of the same rules and have beam, just that not having beam seems out of place for a literal beam!
Just an example to feed the fire that is “GW will be issuing errata for errors to weapon profiles,” I spotted an example of play on pg. 76 in Split Fire that states the Plasma Blastgun has a 3-dice attack profile.
Quake needs an FAQ
I also feel that they removed alot of Blast markers and also needed a 1" or 2" blast markers.
Plasma Blastgun would make a lot more sense if it had 3” Blast, for instance.
Brilliant as ever, keep them coming 👏
Very usefull, can you do the reaver titan ? I ordered 1 and still waiting for the minis and the rules.
Itll be along at some point!

Hi Heresy! Love these videos for Legions. Can you do one on Knight weapons options???
Definitely coming!
Shudder missiles have barrage, could be very nice weapon to stay at distance, safe and pepper the enemy whole game. Could use one more dice tho.
Really good points here. Would you mind telling me where the template hitting structures is referenced in the rulebook?
Under the rules for structures, there is a sentence that says “units in a structure count, the whole structure as being their base”. A very important sentence!
Nice one! Good content.
Thank you!

Knights on the way definitely!
And yes, correct :P Not a secret though - I just dont have any reason to talk about it on the channel!
You should include the image of the weapon it helps to identify them
Most things in my video production are tradeoffs of time - unfortunately I just dokt have time to make anything more fancy, as much as I’d love to!
The Plasma Blastgun was the single most overpowered weapon in Adeptus Titanicus. In a way it's good to see it brought down a bit for LI but they may have gone too far.

Nerfing the vanquisher would be more appropriate - the battlecannon is great for the cost on a 2+ save tank!
Thinkin about giving my first warhound 2x missiles (since the plastic kit doesnt come with mega bolters) and the second 2 volkites, cuz of the lolz :D
Theyre both good loadouts, nothing wrong with them!
For myself personally I'll probably go Graviton/VMB or Infero/VMB
Can you do this kind of video for raver and warlord??
I will get round to them :)

Maybe theyll get a buff one day!

Shame there’s no mega bolter on the sprue in the box, being such a classic Warhound gun.
how do we get the missing weapons?
@@lewiskeal977Those are all on the old Adeptus Titanicus sprue. Presumably those will be in the box when the warhounds get a solo release.
right???? why have all these options but none of the good ones in the starter box?
Until I get the other arm sprue, I’m gonna run a volkite and swarm missile. I’d like a inferno/bolter combo though
Yeh! Inferno/Bolter, Double Conversion Beam, and Grav/Missiles are what I'll be running early I reckon.
🤠
What are the size of the minis? Are the Warhounds the same as the Titans game and are the flying units the same as the Aeronautica game?
They use the same exact models as from Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica Imperialis. The miniatures are in the same scale as the new Legions stuff.
The Plasma Blast gun is so powerful in AT and the TLD is not good for warhound there, they want them good somewhere
Is it a coincidence that the 2 resin weapons are both class
