Me and a mate went halves on a warhound titan and it's one of the best and funniest things we use in battle, sometimes we use it ourselves which is a cool experience commanding such a godly piece of equipment but it's funny going against it!
Really makes you think what anti armour firepower you actually can field because if you miss or don't make a serious dent on it , otherwise its probably going to put you into the shadow realm. Even if it's guns don't kill you directly the follow up explosions from your allies vehicles will.
Turn 2 swings around if your lucky and you realise the obliterated carcass that was.
😂 super wild and super fun!

We really have to compare this to it's weight in tanks. I'd love a video that compared it, defensively, and offensively, to 1,100 pts of: Leman Ruses, Knights, Castigators or other Sisters armor, Admec armor and Marine Gladiators to see if, based on stats, it is every worth taking. Also consider if strat buffs on the titan vs on two (which I know you can't normally do, but just to see if it's cost effective) or one of the others change these numbers enough to warrant consideration.

I played my mate with my warhound, ended up winning the game by exactly 1 point, secondaries we’re very nice to me, and I did use the flank speed to control a marked objective for a secondary.
My mate took all infantry to try and screen me out, so naturally I went with dual inferno (this was when I could still overwatch), ended up with only the warhound remaining after turn 3, and took it all the way!

Not that balance seems to be the focus, but the Plasma gun (and laser) does have the Blast keyword. If you doubled up on either of them the Warhound would be entirely reliant on its feet in melee. Certainly would want to have at least one of the other guns available to clear off any pesky ants at its feet, and at this kind of point cost I don't think it can afford to be a specialised anti-tank killer anyway.

I have a Porphyrion - you absolutely should! It’s a glorious piece of machinery to field, but on the same level of a Tyranid Hierophant (my absolute favorite model to field). The points cost means you can back it up with quite a lot in a 2k game, and your opponent will be focused entirely on dealing with the big guy to their detriment.

I assembled the Revenant kit for my brother without the directions, and it took me an hour. My guess is maybe two at the most? You’ll want to be using some insta set for sure, though. Just had a small tournament 2 days ago where someone brought one of those. My Phobos + Thunderstrikes list killed it in 2 turns despite low damage rolls. The ultimate downfall of them is terrain rules (blocking LOS, can't move, etc) and it's lack of firepower. Only having 2 guns on it really hampered it compared to my Invictor Warsuits. The Warhound did a grand total of damaging 2 Thunderstrikes.

I think I would run it with Plasma and Turbolasers, Two 10-man squads of Jump Pack Intercessors, one with Captain and Sang Priest for staying power to go wreck the chaff. Two whirlwinds for strong indirect fire, and an Intercessor squad to hold the back line and advance out to take some other objective.
Probably not too competitive, but the Titan has enough anti-tank to focus down one big thing per turn if it needs to, and it will likely give two good turns of shooting at the very least, even if the opponent brings a good amount of anti-tank. Jump Pack intercessors can deal MW on the charge so they can still threaten some decent targets, and with Sons of Sanguinius detachment, they actually become very effective chaff clearing with 5A per model, Str 5 AP-1, Captain with Thunder Hammer and Relic Shield. Maybe drop the priest and run two captains for efficient stratagems so you can save CP for the titan.

I get your sentiment, but even if it was molded plastic instead of casted resin, the Material cost alone would be higher than 15$ for such a large model.
Modelling plastic isnt just any garbage quality plastic and the model being made out of casted resin doesnt make the materal bill any cheaper.
GW models are way overcosted for what they are, but even if GW wouldnt make any money at all (just getting back what they spent last year) they couldnt even drop prices by 50%. So a normal sized Knight would still be over 80$ Retail price, let alone a whole Titan.
(Shipping to the US and import tariffs also come out to roughly 15-20% of the final Retail price)
To reiterate, GWs models are certailny way overpriced. But there is no place on earth right now where the materail bill of a warhound Titan would be 15$.

Also they have to pay a lot of extra costs that need to be calculated into that, for example for the lawyers they use to threaten people on youtube making Wh40k fan videos or those who print their own minis in 3D. Also all that marketing they need to do to make people feel like it is worth the money. I wish they focused more on making affordable minis and competing in that way, and also didnt phase out older armies all the time.

ive got a warhound titan that, uhhh....came from the fabricator pits of Saturn. anyways, ive played a few games of tossing it in with some Grey Knights, who need help packing a punch. its really just for fun and i would _never_ take it to a serious match. you're not going to budge it off an objective, but other than that its honestly not great. the opponent knows they're not going to drop it, so they just dont bother wasting shots against it. which means its enormous wounds pool is actually a detriment, because it means your opponent focuses that much harder on your squishier units (which you have considerably less of, at 900 points).

I have the armorcast titans. They are so 80's they shit rubix cubes. Sadly they've been nerfed progressively over the years to be a shadow of what they once were.

And then you think something like a single Vindicator could kill this within a single turn. Sure, you'd need to have massive luck on the Vindi and pretty bad luck on the Hound, but if a tank has the potential of doing 54 wounds from 1 gun in a single turn, it's not really all that bad 😅 Happens probably once in a century, but it's possible.

We have two and they are hilarious in the Apocalypse games. But GW have nerfed this even more from what I am seeing. For example, S6 for a Vulcan Mega Bolter, really? A gun bigger than a Leeman Russ, firing self propelled bolter shells with explosive heads the size of Volkswagens at supersonic speeds. If it hits a Terminator it would knock it back 100's of metres if not disintegrate its armour. Apparently physics is not a thing. Or that armour save, like there is no weapons out there that don't have AP -4? Oh yes I forgot, say six Wraith Guard with Wraithcannon that fire S14 AP-4 D6 damage. Two teams of these would be cheaper than the titan. They have dropped the void shields entirely and that 5++ invulnerable save is going to be bent really hard. Don't look now but there are a plethora of weapons firing high strength, high AP dealing out lots of damage. The only thing likely to save this beast in a normal 40k game is if, rather ironically, they miss. Aeldari can not be the only army that can smack this thing.
