I phoned my Parents from Greece to England to tell them that were going to Grandparents twice, First In 1989 , and the Second in 1994 . All I said to my Mother was sit down before you fall down, then I told her the news on both occasions . The joy in her voice was unbelievable.

So nice to see parents happy that their son or daughter are going to have a baby my mon never was for us! And she has 6 grandkids! 3 each from my brother and I. But she is a lot nicer to my brothers kids, than mine and my boys are the only ones who help her and helped with my dad when she needed it! But my boys truly loved their grandpa!

Question: Why do Americans always think people are lying to them when they announce their pregnancy? Is there like a prank culture related to that? I don't get it.
Late reply, but yes years ago it was a BIG thing to prank people (namely parents) by saying you (or your girlfriend) is pregnant literally just about everyone did it
