As a vegan, I can tell you I nearly fainted at the sight of all the meat choices for the bocadillos at El Rei de l'Esmorçaret. Although, I must say it was a lot of fun to watch you guys give it the old college try and attempt the unthinkable with all the amazing food that was put in front of you. That place makes Subway sandwich shops in the US seem like child's play. Good Lord!

I have only been to Valencia once and do remember a good meal there, but you have blown what little cover Valencia might still have had as a culinary capital. I'm still in a food coma from just watching, not even following you around and eating all that incredible food myself. Since I will be in Valencia later this year, I will follow some of your footsteps but have to stretch what you and Yoly ate in 3 days to extend to maybe a week! It's so much fun to watch Yoly's expression when she tastes something really good. She has no poker face when it comes to food. The yum is written all over. Thanks for making this video. Like others have noted, your food blogging is becoming as epic as the places you go and the meals you eat with so much happiness.

Still waiting for my Spanish Sephardic Passport. So eager to go there . Because of your videos I have learned not to buy paella from just anywhere in Spain. I ordered Paella at a bus station in Malaga. It was edible but nothing like what you have shown on your channel. The one is this video looked like the chef put lavender on top as a garnish.

Here in Valencia we call paella (pan) just the "valencian paella" and rices with things (arros amb coses) all the other rices. The "rice in paella" they ate is a new recipe, with new invasive crap ingredient. Casa Carmela, Llar Román, or Casa Juan, are 3 great paella restaurants in Valencia, but you can go anywhere in El Palmar, and rices will be from good to excellent.

Spain also serves the standard cuisine served by other European nations, and in America, roast beef, all saute vegetable dishes, soups, roast chicken, baked and deep fried fish, spaghetti, fried pork chops, steaks, etc. When I drove from Madrid to Benidorm on vacation, I stopped off the side of the highway at what we would call a truck stop. It was not near a large city either, instead it was practically out in the middle of nowhere. The cafe had a 1 fork sign out front. My appetizer plate was a plate of five different saute green vegetables. The brussel sprouts I recall were the best, as they had no earthy type hint at all, showing they must have been marinated in something before being sauted in butter, garlic and olive oil. The main course was what they called 'steak Avila', which was a style of meat from the province of Avila, Spain. It was served with excellent French fries. This meal was so... excellent, everything was perfect, and this was a little cafe out in the middle of nowhere on the side of the highway??

When we go to Spain it has mostly been to the Jalon area. Always say we should go to Valencia. Next time!

I've been a fan of your vlogs ever since Devour Tours Barcelona. Looking forward to visiting Valencia and Madrid this coming May 2024. We're really big on exploring the local food scene and culture.

Finally, I really don't know what took you guys so long :)
Was so excited to see where you guys went in my favourite city & was made up to see you ate at Casa Montaña.
The food & atmosphere there is just the best, so much so last time we holidayed there we deliberately stayed in an Airbnb 2 streets away & ate there energy other night!
This week will be back in Spain & are trying Malaga for a 1st time. Looking forward to following in your footsteps from your food tour of their.
Big love to you & your family ❤

I've been to Valencia quite a few times and always enjoyed it. We were in one of the little bars on the beach and asked the guy whether he had Aqua de Valencia. He laughed, nodded to the sea and said 'Help Yourself!' So we had Gin Tonica and a few beers. Our genial host brought out a plate of mussels and then clams. And we were happy. Very happy. As usual in Spain, the good stuff is the simple stuff. Love your vids!
