Hi James I love your enthusiasm for Spain which I share with you. I’ve lived and visited there countless times since I was just 10 or 12. Wish I could be there now rather than in Asia. Happy to see you enjoying Sevilla. I loved it too when I was there studying Spanish just out of boarding school. It was, would you believe, around 55 years ago. I lodged. with two black widows just 100m from La Giralda. Cost me just 90 pesetas full board! Didn’t have much cash but at 1 peseta a glass of wine and 2 for a tapa even I could afford to go around the bars. Spain was a different country then but I still love it. Keep up the good work. Love your channel, a real nostalgia trip for me.

If you want to eat awesome tapas (and in most bars for free) go to León. It's a beautiful city in Spain with a very famous Cathedral, but lately it's even more famous for its tapas bars.

We went to Bodeguita Romero yesterday and today. The pringa was the best!, thanks for the recommendation! Bacalao was fresh and delicious. Swordfish was amazing! Gamba bocadillo was wonderful! We loved it! Also had the carrillera Iberica- omg wonderful! We tried it last night at another location and it was pretty tough. At Bodeguita Romero- it was tender and WOW!

We're on track for moving to Spain in just six months. My wife lived there for 18 years before moving back to the US. After many visits and with family living in Spain, we're excited to be making the move to in incredibly beautiful and interesting country.
A friend of mine who studied in Seville for half a year showed me this video before I went there last week. Glad I saw it because our last night in Seville, we tried out Casa Morales and it blew us away. The red wine was good but their tapas especially the bacalao was amazing!

We spent two months in Chipiona prior to the pandemic. Loved it there and their sherry. Only spent one night in Seville. For sure we will be back to see more of the Andalusia region!!!
Hey James I watch your clips all the time, and I’m visiting Seville this week. The one thing you have never mentioned in your tours is “Tintoretto limonat a” a refreshing poor man’s sangria. Right up there with Cana at tapas bars for those not much on drinking.

Great vid. I'm heading that way beginning of May. Your not far off with your Sherry and Whiskey correlation. A lot of Scotch whiskeys are either matured or finished in ex Sherry wine casks with most being Oloroso and some Pedro Ximénez casks.

I was at La Azotea this last Sunday. I like more the original one in Zaragoza street. About the other bars, classic ones. They are safe bets. You need to visit some others next time, more hidden to the tourist circuits. Once thing I like is that you already don't notice the noise in the bars. Anyway, always welcome to my home city. This man is so right about Bodeguita Romero. The Pringa is amazing. Loved it. Estrella Galicia is a lovely drink. Did feel like we stuck out a bit as English. But great place to visit. Don’t lean on the bar section which is reserved for the waiter.

Great tapas tour James. I love the food in Vietnam where I'm currently located but I long to return to Seville and do a number of tapas crawls. I'll even give the sherry a go which sounds much better than the standard drop we have in Oz. Wish I didn't have to endure the long haul flight there but that's the way it is for us Aussies and Kiwis.

Great tapas tour James. I love the food in Vietnam where I'm currently located but I long to return to Seville and do a number of tapas crawls. I'll even give the sherry a go which sounds much better than the standard drop we have in Oz. Wish I didn't have to endure the long haul flight there but that's the way it is for us Aussies and Kiwis.
Totally different drop - do give it a try. And yeah, those long flights are a killer

What is the best way to get from Seville to Barcelona and back? I know some have recommended train but it sounds kind of long. I was thinking to go by plane. Have you done this and is it safe? Thanks!
Totally safe! Plane or train, whatever works best for you and price. Train goes via Madrid as there is no direct line

Wanda Smallman stay away from the touristic spots . They cater for foreign tastes so you will never find out the real tapas .
Por desgracia, en Sevilla el fino no abunda, está empezando a extenderse ahora, pero lo que más se ha bebido allí siempre es manzanilla. Y otros vinos de Jerez como el amontillado, lo raro es dar con un sitio que sí lo tenga, así que me alegro de que haya sitios como Palo Cortao, moviendo los vinos de Jerez :)
En el centro de Sevilla hay muchos sitios con vinos de jerez,en los barrios fuera del centro es mas dificil encontrarlos

I've been to Sevilla, barcelona and madrid a few times and have been fortunate to visit a few of the restaurants you mentioned (the older ones :)) I have a question for you - I have a great girlfriend that is native Barcelona (Catalonia) and lives on the outskirts. Every 4 years I visit her from the USA and I'm always troubled with what I should bring her and her children (boy 8 and girl 4) she is 38 years old. Do you have any suggestions of gifts that I should bring them from the USA. Thanks in advance!
