When he died , my mother cried like a baby. I was 15. It was truly devastating. He was such a kind soul. My mother often compared him to Fred Roger's. Both were the real deal. Truly angels.

Michael Landon became very special to our family, he was diagnosed the same week as my grandmother and passed away just a few days after my grandmother both from pancreatic cancer. We used to watch little house on the prairie all of us together, so it was bittersweet.

Not just “ Bonanza, “ but also “ Highway to Heaven “ was also very memorable. I remember him being interviewed by Johnny Carson. He didn’t even look sick. I never realized that he had such a horrible childhood. Sad. RIP, Michael. I will always remember you. Thanks Jordan for this vlog.

I loved Michael Landon! As a writer/director he crafted stories that engaged the emotions of TV viewers. His ethics, morals, faith and sense of humor were reflected in "Little House" and "Highway to Heaven". He touched a lot of hearts and brought a lot of hope into people's lives. The man was a Class Act in every way. Thank you so much, Jordan, for doing the this wonderful tribute to him.

He will never be forgotten and what I didn't know is until lately, Michael and Brian Keith became friends during the shooting of "The loneliest Runner " in which Lance Kerwin starred as Michael's younger self and Brian Keith played Michael's dad. I love Brian Keith just as much as I love Michael so I was saddened by their losses, but know that they are both together again catching up where they left off. ❤

Watching Bonanza when I was a kid was a weekly event at my grandmother's house. Such a shame he died so young. He was born the same year as my mom. That cemetery is beautiful. I was curious how big Michael Landon's family plot/room was when focusing on his plaque & when you panned to the top where his son is I just went "wow!". And curious to know how many spots or spaces are in the room.
Anyway, this was a lovely video. Little House is one of few shows, especially from that era, that has never been off the air, continuous syndication, and in so many different countries and languages. You put it best when you said Landon was this person who you just felt like you knew and he knew you.
I had a chance to see him with his family at a restaurant when I was a child but I only vaguely remember it, but I do remember the feeling of being starstruck and just his presence, even though we didn't talk to or bother him. My parents commented that it was sort of rude that many in the restaurant were trying to chat with him literally while eating, my mom said she figured some people just couldn't help themselves.
Little House always "centers" me. If I'm having a hard time or a bad day, I'll watch a random LHOTP episode. I've loved the books from the cast, especially Alison Armgrim's. Some wonderful details about that life and we got a few more quite interesting details from Carolyn Grassle when she was recently on Megyn Kelly's podcast. Like why Michael chose episodes of values and lessons versus serial dramas, and even the things we know about Michael and his childhood explain this too. Anyway, I'll look forward to reading her book too. Michael sure contributed a lot to this world, he was truly one of a kind and left an awesome legacy! That just can't be overstated!
I'll end with this... I was shocked to just learn a couple of weeks ago that Teeter on Yellowstone is Jen Landon, Michael's daughter. And in an interview I could totally see her dad in her.

When my parents wanted me to come inside, they would turn up the volume on the TV and when I heard the Bonanza theme song start, I ran like crazy. They'd hear me land on the back porch and I'd be in front of the TV when the action started! Never missed a minute. 👏👍👍😄❤️
I also watched Little House on the Prairie, didn't miss an episode. The loving, tight-knit family, with great moral values, was so appealing to me.
Never watched Highway to Heaven, somehow that one didn't catch my interest, to my surprise.
Thanks for taking us to Michael's burial site and showing the others along the way. Always like visiting Shelley Winters with you. She was extra special to me growing up as we both were born August 18th. And of course I enjoyed her work very much too.
Take super care out there, in this scary pandemic time! 🙏❤️

I wish Michael Landon could of lived longer at least til maybe til November 1991 but in actuality beyond over 30yrs or more til this present day for to do more episodes of the CBS tv pilot=US I wonder are there actually any unreleased 6 episodes or something like that would have been extremely great.

@@geraldlewis5982 "they"meaning tv networks// Hollywood producers directors etc ..for example look what they did with Anthony Bourdain after he even committed suicide they kind of "milked it"n extended his existence. by still leaving his presence on the air with a background life documentary with clips of him in it! So why not do the same for Michael Landon ... All be it's 30 years later ...but still!

Unusual for an actor to have 3 hit series, but if anyone could do it Mr Landon could. Did not know that about his childhood and mother. Very tragic indeed. Thanks Jordan :)

Everybody loved Little Joe Cartwright aka Michael Landon. He was extremely handsome. I'm sure Lorne Green gave him the fatherly love he never had....may they all RIP.
I watch Bonanza everyday, still. Watched "Highway To Heaven," too.
