Great tribute to Sonny, and a tragic ending for him. My folks lived in Palm Desert while he was Mayor of Palm Springs (and during his tenure as a congressman), he did great things for the community and environs. He was approachable too, very genuine. Thank you for saluting Sonny!

It wasn't an accident. Sonny was an excellent skier. There wasn't a dent in the tree, which there would have been, if he had slammed into it.
He was going to expose some people, and the Powers That Be, got rid of him.

At the time of his death he was congressman investigating what happened at WACO Texas. It was interesting going back and watching the videos of him grilling Janet Reno. I watched a few different documentaries on him and his accomplishments..and he was truly a God Send and had a heart of gold.
I will never forget Cher's eulogy at his funeral..which was very heartfelt and true.

Many years ago I worked in Reno Nevada in Emergency Road Service and had a towing contract with the Sparks Police Department. One day I call over to the dispatch and had a nice conversation with one of the dispatchers. For some reason we started talking about Sonny Bono and his accident at Heavenly. During this conversation she tells me that his body was not actually taken to to the Lake Tahoe Police morgue but to their department to keep it away from the press. Always thought that was very interesting. Never told anyone this until now.

Jean Bono (Sonny's Mom) thought his death was not an accident. Others say he was pistol whipped and dumped next to a tree. The truth is he would have struck the boulders and a horizontal tree trunk laying in front of that tree first. Personally, I find it interesting his ski hat and goggles were never recovered.

Love that song needles and pins. Didn't know Sonny wrote it either. Always loved the Sonny and Cher Show. My twin sister and I had a crush on Sonny. Too bad about Sonny dying. Sad time. I do agree with Sonny music was different in the 60s than 70s. You had more physcodelic music in the 60s than 70s. 60s had more harmony. Like Sonny and Cher and Peter Paul and Mary type of music.

Thank you Jordan for doing this vlog about Sonny Bono. I used to watch the Sonny and Cher show when it was on. Just so happened that I watched an episode of Murder She Wrote that Sonny guested on. I remember watching the news report when he had passed away after that skiing accident and watching part of the funeral on tv. Too bad the building were his restaurant was isn’t there anymore. I bet his food was really good. I think he did a lot of good things for Palm Springs as mayor and was doing good things in Congress when he passed. Mary Bono stepped up to continue his work in Congress. He was truly special.

Watching this made me recall one of the most heartwarming performances I'd ever seen on David Letterman was when Cher reunited with Sonny to sing "I Got You Babe" in 1985. Apparently it was impromptu - but when they sang it was magical, and although long divorced - you could see it in their eyes, and literally feel, the love they still felt for each other. Here's the link - but better have a tissue ready. ruclips.net/video/c4EaFzRVjlM/видео.html

During the 1990's, I was enlisted in the Navy. I was visiting a public library & STRANGER told me that the Waco tragedy was by CLINTON. Rest In Heaven Senator Bono -- ***slowly saluting***

I don’t believe Sonnys death was an accident .
There were two forensic doctors who examined his body postmortem and concluded that he was severely beaten to death .

Abracadabra I remember that some said that he was too good of a skier to have the type of accident that he did. There were also things about how the clothing was damaged. Don't know if it was true or not.

Sonny and Cher made a great team; there was great chemistry. Such great memories. I dont know who the sculptor was, but I dont think the faces on him and Lucy looked very much like the real people. I would never have known who the statues were depicting without being told.

I read he was killed on the ski hill , for trying to reveal how corrupt certain people were ...Sonny really tried but the darkness won

You are a great storyteller!! 🤗
I remember the Sonny and Cher show. Those comedy shows were so popular in the 70s. My faves were Carol Burnett Show, the Flip Wilson Show, and Sonny and Cher!

Sony was murdered and it was made to look like he hit that tree . The coroners findings were that his injuries were consistent with that of a beating by at least 3 individuals.

I've always been a fan of Sonny and Cher and "I Got You Babe" was one of my first 45s. I remember their wild hair, striped bell bottoms, wide belts and fur vests. As much as he cared for Cher, I do believe his second wife Mary was the true love of his life. Years ago I enjoyed dinner at their restaurant in Palm Springs. Thanks for telling his story, Jordan! Great vlog!

I got to see Cher in concert about three weeks ago in the third row, and when she sang I Got You Babe you could just see in her eyes how much she meant to him. Maybe they weren’t meant to be romantically but they were obviously best friends.

I grew up watching the Sonny and Cher show. And my favorite episode of the Golden Girls is the one with Sonny where he's chasing after Dorothy along with Lyle Waggoner from the Carol Burnett show (in Blanches dream)
