Hey what's up Woo man, Love ur video.. I could watch stuff like this all day.. So mysterious..Masonic symbolism and such..fascinating.. Makes ya wonder, which ones were sacraficed ? Lol.. We know..
Does anyone else like to frequent or "hang out" in cemeteries? I find them blissfully serene and a great place to contemplate anything and everything. They are often some of the most beautiful places with the mausoleums, statues and grounds features. I loved to element that the different animals add in Hollywood Forever. I would love to pay my respects here personally one day.
I use to for awhile. I was intrigued by some of the statues etc and it was interesting to see the old grave dates. But I've encountered so many haunted ones that it's quite disturbing from experiences i had including sometimes when friends were with me we all heard/saw the same. I learned a lot from that but since then it's really rare for me. I only visit tourist attraction ones now beside family. When i was most interested in visiting a few random ones i was experiencing death and renewal in my life. So it was like symbolic for me. And I got over it so lost my interest. I tell you what though... I use to live in Chicago and I visited a few there. Turns out Oscar Myler ( sp)... You know the sandwich meat guy... Was buried near by my apt. After I saw his grave I can't buy or knowingly eat any meat from this company.
6:04 Interesting a lot of people don't know why rocks are placed on headstones, especially those with a star of David atop the name. In the Jewish religion, it is said that one leaves a rock on top of the headstone of a loved one. The rock represents love. No matter how many times you break down a rock, it is still a rock, even at its most miniscule state of being. Thus, love cannot be destroyed. Always touches me when I'm in a cemetery and see a headstone with rocks on top. Thanks for showing this place!
Outstanding. The last time I visited Hollywood Forever, it was still Hollywood Memorial Park. It was in a sad state of repair, but still pretty remarkable. I’ll never forget the creepy feeling I got walking around inside the Cathedral Mausoleum, as if someone or something didn’t want me there. I also remember the strange sounds near the crypts of Victor Fleming and Darla Hood, like tapping up above your head. I’ve always heard the place was haunted, and I’d have to say I agree. I’m so glad the current owners have restored the place to its former grandeur. Great, respectful work, Adam…
I went last year my friends and i felt something unwelcoming too in the Cathedral Mausoleum. We unanimously decided to turn around and leave without even discussing what had occured until we got back to the car. Spooky for sure
This was really well done, thank you. Living in Australia, there is no way I can visit the graves of Hollywood legends so I sometimes watch these videos. Most speed up the footage and race about but you give viewers time to see things properly. I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates that. Thank you.
As a hollywood film lover i want to say thank you for this amazing tour...I feel so sad watching this, to think one time or another these celebrities was living the hollywood dream with riches and fame but what remains is the work they left behind!...may they rest in peace.
Excellent introduction to this cemetery for anyone not familiar with it. It has been almost 15 years since I last toured it. Lots of history from Hollywood's golden age!
So many names there that shaped my outlook on storytelling. I appreciate all of their contributions. Judy Garland, Charlie Chaplin, Victor Fleming, Mel Blanc, Mickey Rooney... What a great way to remember them. So sad about Anton Yelchin... Taken too soon. :-(
Great video Adam. A peaceful somber reminder on Valentine's Day to always tell those in your life that you love them. Everyday. We never know what day will be our last. Live by actions, always strive for kindness.
Thank you for your continued journeys. One of your first videos I watched was a cemetery video. It was curious to me about notable people's burial places, and you were one of the few vloggers that were respectful, and I admired that. Two years later I am still watching. I admire all your material and adventures.
I love how respectful your videos are, I've spent the last few days watching many of them, your doing a great job sharing the world with us Adam, I can't wait to see where else you go! My favorites are your adventures though LA and Disneyland! My heart is lost somewhere in Socal, your videos help so much when I'm missing home! Thank you!
I remember when Darren McGavin was at the Federal Building in West LA to do location shots for “The Night Stalker” (a lot of location shots for movies, TV and commercials were filmed there). He was very friendly, and a good-looking ginger, and made my day! Thanks, Adam!
What a beautiful job they have done restoring our beloved Hollywood cemetery. You know Judy was moved from NY to Hollywood in 2017. Read a terrific story about her funeral in NY. Love her still.

Me too. I went there last year from Australia & wanted to make the effort to get to Hollywood Forever mainly to pay my respects to Chris. It was incredibly sad to see his name on a headstone.
The view inside the first mausoleum is mind blowing. It just amazed me how many people are interred inside just this building alone. Can't imagine how many. Hundreds, I imagine. Stunning.
Rocky III scene was awesome. It’s amazing what history you can learn by just walking through a graveyard. I especially enjoyed history of a Hollywood graveyard. Great video man
The cemeteries are very much on my list for April... As morbid as it may seem to some, the amount of history that is distilled into such a small area is just mind-blowing

I toured that cemetary back in the late 80s. I was surprised to see the "newer" sites of those interred since then. Thanks for including the brief look at Hattie Man It's memorial. The former owner refused interment to any people of color, and known Jewish. Sad that discrimination has to follow even in death. I maintain the best headstone/memorial is Tyrone Power's. It's architecturally and esthetically pleasing, functional and non egotistical. A bench with books piled. As I was told, he was an avid reader, and had a say in how he'd like it to look.

Great video, Adam!! I'm sorry to see that the cemetery is getting a little run-down. The grass around the grave stones needs to be edged, Rose Bushes Cut Back, etc etc. Just after the Cassidys bought that place from Jules Roth's company they really made it look wonderful..putting millions of dollars into restoring the cemetery. I hope everything is o.k. and they're still doing well.
My wife's parents have their gravesite here! I met Darren Mc Gavin as a kid on the set of Ironside, he shook my hand, smiled, and said, "hello young man", and then walked on. My mom worked at Universal Studios in the 1960's, and sometimes she'd take us on a self-guided tour of the empty TV sets.

So peaceful there. Rudolph's resting place/tomb.. yes he was handsome, but beyond that just felt moved and got chills by that that one . A lovely place.

I was very sad since I just lost my mother on March 22, 2019, and I needed to get away relax my mind so I parked my car at the Hopkins Cleveland international airport and flew to Los Angeles, once in LA I wrote a bus to Hollywood Blvd and Highland Blvd. There I reserved a hotel room for 5 days. My first day there I spent it all at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and there I visited every grave you filmed in this video, I presume we took the same route. The following day I visited Home of peace memorial park in East LA, where I visited the resting places of Curly and Shemp Howard. On the third day I visited Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, there I visited Larry Fine grave. Enjoyed my vacation in Hollywood, and plan to do it again.

Challenge: where do we get sand then...
Sand in seas and oceans come from coral breaking down. Sand on land comes from rocks.
Also, a rock or stone is placed on a grave to say someone cares/loves the person buried there..
Now that you've explained it, I do remember seeing the practice at the end of the film Schindler's List.
I didn't know why the rocks, thank you for the explanation ❤🌹💋

My first day there I spent it all at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and there I visited every grave you filmed in this video, I presume we took the same route. The following day I visited Home of peace memorial park in East LA, where I visited the resting places of Curly and Shemp Howard. On the third day I visited Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, there I visited Larry Fine grave. Enjoyed my vacation in Hollywood, and plan to do it again.
Right next to Valentino was June Mathis, who was the screenwriter and future MGM exec that discovered Valentino.
Very cool thanks for the info
@@TheDailyWoo June Mathis loaned her Crypt space so Valentino had a temporary burial spot , as his death was so sudden ,plans were in place to build a grand memorial ,but funds were not found and his Hollywood pals never stumped up the cost
the man who had bought the crypt space next to Valentino moved back to Italy, and sold the crypt back to June
she died a few years after Valentino oddly , they then moved Valentino to the other crypt and put June Mathis where she is now !!
I learned quite a bit from this vlog Adam! Thank you. I love cemeteries. They're a special reminder of so many very special people💖
Glad you did . Thanks
Thank you Adam, the best video you've made in a long time, I truly missed your very cool videos! .... Just think, Iron Eyes Cody wasn't even an Indian, he was an Italian from Iowa !

Bridget Warebear . Bridget I’m sorry you had a bad Valentine’s Day. I wish you nothing but HAPPINESS.🧸🌹💕
Thor thanks so much. In honesty, the day itself was okay, just not a huge fan of the actual holiday! I’m more on board with having a second Halloween instead.
Thanks for posting! So interesting & a history lesson, too. Gone the way of all flesh!
