    Amazing attention to detail.
    Campa and Cannondale is always a good fit imo but in this case, the partly silver polished Sram rear derailleur matches just perfect.
    Rim decal delete is a must, glad you have the same taste.

    WOW! What am I seeing? A 2007 SystemSix in the beautifully exposed fused version? There is literally nothing on youtube showcasing the awesomeness of this bike but a couple amateur clips, I have waited years! I own this frame NOS in 60cm from 07 but never built it up, always wondered what it would look like with modern comp 😅 🔥 perfection, great job 👍🏼
    Ps. I have the original ‘fat n ugly’ stem people used to say 😂 I think its nice

    I’m still working on a ‘98 Cannondale CAD3 in a deep blue color with yellow logos. Found it abandoned by a college student and put out with the trash on the curb. Original 8 speed 105 and brakes, Modolo Flash bars and stem and a Shimano WH-R560 wheel set. This video helped spur me on and to keep at it. Thank you.

  • @brasstinmancrazy

    I laughed out loud when you said it's more comfortable than the Aethos, they worked so hard to create comfort when aluminium has been there all along and 2007 Cannondale created a more comfortable frameset, given you've modified the touch points and wheels etc and it's lighter than the UCI limit. I can't wait to build up my CAAD10 rim brake bike now. You've got me so motivated. Great video, thank you

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Год назад +3

      Aethos is just very stiff. It’s a great bike though and the frame is just half the weight of SystemSix.

    Really nice build.
    Have the same frame (fortunately in a very very good original condition) and a quite similar build. eeBrake, Hollowgram crankset. Not as clean as yours because I like decals on wheels so the older "Reynolds" in white are perfect.
    What I really don't like on your build is the eTap. So bulky front and I REALLY hate empty cable stoppers. Also I think only the original Stem matches the headtube.
    By the way: You placed the bottom bracket spindle the wrong way (doesn't really matters). The fixed side is on the non drive side. Spacers ans wave washer on the drive side.

    WOW!!! Another awesome built!! I'm about to completely rebuild my 2007 CAAD8 and were dreading the paint/clearcoat removal process. So obviously sanding is a no go as I also know the original clearcoat is crazy thick. So what method did "Pete" finally use to get it to such a pristine state? Any info would be much apprecated!!!

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Год назад +1

      Thanks!
      So I used the paint stripper which removed most of the clear coat and then Pete used sand paper and dremel with various bits to get it to that condition.
      The problem with my frame is that it is moulded to front carbon triangle, so you have to be very careful. Fully aluminium frames should be easier to remove paint from. Good luck!
