The Freak, Eddie George, McNair…what a great team this was.
...never got that 💍 though! Now my Ravens got 2!
It don't mean a thing, if you ain't got that bling!
R.I.P. Steve McNair!
@@rustyshackelford1483 nobody cares about the ravens. Y’all are one of the most underwhelming teams in the league now.
@@patlol5661 injuries man. Literally doesn’t mean that at full strength they aren’t a better team, which they are.
@@rustyshackelford1483 plenty of people will never get a ring 😂😂😂
@Michael Farenborn- very true. That team isn't talked about a lot but they were a serious threat in the league
I miss that era of football.
Met him in pompano beach at a gas station. He was really down to earth.
This guy is one of the most relentless Defensive Ends in the NFL back in the early 2000s
All Time
lightning bruiser like DBZ/Super Broly. Shame he regressed after a couple years but he was great to listen to.
He started the entire speed rush wide 9 thing. He was worth the price of admission. Him and Alex Brown were huge for me. Both Gators at that lol
Yeah he was ahead of his time, after Kearse you started seeing a theme in the league with tall fast 4-3 DEs. Peppers, Mathis, Freeney, the list goes on. I think Charles Hailey was the pre-cursor for this style but Kearse was the prototype
Looks like he started strip sacks too
back when doug Johnson and jesse palmer was qb for gators!
Thanks for mentioning Alex Brown! As a bears fan I thought he was the truth!
Those Gator practices in ‘98 must have been crazy with Kearse and Brown.
I loved playing as Kearse in those Madden years on D and Vick on offense
Word he was a straight animal in Madden on the d line wreaking havoc
hell, even on backyard football lol.
He was the 12th Man in one of the games I went to this season, and the crowd went nuts. One of the all-time Titans greats.
Javon Kearse was a monster plan and simple...salute Freak 👊🏽😁
I think he had a 92 speed in madden or something like that, crazy!
What a FREAK!
Although he wasn't the same player once my Eagles 🦅 signed him... He was still fun to watch!
He was pretty ok for us his first year
The fact that his record still stands 23 years later shows how good he was that year
Met him at work in Fort Lauderdale - he’s STILL jacked as hell and looks like he can still play today.
Hahah me too I met him working at Coral Springs ale house. Cool dude too, all smiles and went out of his way to shake my hand before leaving
Broward County ❤️
As a Nashvillian those words still send a shiver up my spine:
"There are no...flags... on the field! It's a miracle!"
Forward pass
@@OsceolaNola7 From that angle they showed it definitely does look like it... I am a Miami fan saying that too so you know I am not bias lol, that looks forward.
@@OsceolaNola7 forward all day
You have to watch the other angle to realize it was actually not forward. The camera angle shown here makes it look forward but it was in fact backwards by about a foot. “It’s a game of inches”
Kearse was relentless and powerful. Absolutely dominant and so fun to watch on every play. When I played in High School I tried to match his effort. The boys on the sideline loved that shit.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen footage from that Super Bowl that looked this good. What’s higher than high def. Wow!
I remember the freak was a big nickname then. Him and moss had it
Kearse an julius peppers
2 of the main guys who could catch Michael Vick
And keep him contained
And Dwight freeney!
@@DatsjoeYT yea
Man, this brought back so many memories. Glad to see that The Freak is still doing well.
When I hear of players being compared to previous legends it sometimes makes me roll my eyes but Jevon Kearse was like the reincarnation of Lawrence Taylor but with freakish genetics. Truly one of the best players of any era IMO.
Defensive version of the previous season's iconic rookie game breaker Randy Moss.
Facts.. same nickname too lol
He was great, damn those injuries that cut his career short...
Watched him when I was a kid. He was the man.
THIS GUY RIGHT HERE is still one of my favorite players of all time. Dude was the prototype for a safety type of player to be playing d end. running down anyone and cleaning their clock
Man Kearse was THAT DUDE. I wish he stayed healthy
4.4 40 as a DE … insanity!
Yess insane
In the 90’s? Yes lol
he was an ABSOLUTE beast in his time!!!
He’s sooo humble, it’s awesome to see that even though he reached so many high’s he still stayed grounded!
He’s top 5 most freakish DEs to ever play and he started the wave of the quick yet strong DE the whole wide 9 concept started with The Freak being the prototype. He’s the best DE our Oilers/Titans have had and another case of what if since injuries cut his career short. He had 74 sacks and 28 forced fumbles but only played 3 full seasons where he wasn’t hurt with his 2nd to last season being a 4th “full” season due to showing up in every game but he didn’t play full games. In those first 3 years he had 36 sacks and 15 forced fumbles. After those 3 years the closet he came to 10 sacks was his 5th year with 9.5 in 14 games. He’ll always be a Titan and will always be loved here due to everything he did for us and I believe if he would’ve stayed instead of going to Philly he would’ve bounced back because contrary to belief we were actually good under the Fisher era we produced our best records and were always one of the better teams especially defensively. Jevon, D-Mason, Carter, Wycheck, Rolle, Both Dysons, Fisk, Odom, Neal, Bullock, Schulters, Bishop, Sanders, Griffen, Haynesworth, Bennett, Hall, Olsen, Piller, Miller, Matthews, George, and Air McNair always came to play rain or shine healthy or hurt there’s so many I left out but Jevon was one of our top guys for many years.
don't forget vanden bosch, he was a big part of that great late 00's d-line
One of the many great picks from the late GM Floyd Reese. He really helped put the titans on the map when they first moved to Nashville and helped the titans hire gm Jon Robinson who under him has had the titans have 6 consecutive winning seasons with 2 division championships.
Probably one of my favorite football players of all time. I still talk about him to this day.
Seems like a really good dude, wish him well in his post football life. What a player
Freak was a name that fit Kearse perfectly. Size, strength and he could chase down running backs. Very talented brother.
Everyone just ignores that he had 2 safeties on that playoff run I feel like that's pretty clutch for a DE
Jevon Kearse is the prototype for the athletic lean defensive ends. He was the first. Everyone after him was trying to find the next Freak defensive end. Before him there weren’t many 6’5” 270lbs who ran 4.4 40s. He came then Simeon Rice was right after, if I’m not mistaken. Thats another player they need to highlight. Simeon Rice.
Dwight Freeny too
@@jeebs9 Dwight Freeney was the anti Freak. Short Wide And Undersized edge rusher with a hall of fame first step and move.
Simeon Rice was the NFC version of Javon Kearse
Loved having him as a DE for the Eagles!
Me too, the very reason i clicked here was to see some Eagles film highlights....talk about no love whatsoever... MY only time going to preseason workouts was the 2004 season The Freak was an Eagle, B-Dawk, Trotter, Runyun just was a loaded roster that was predicted to be the season the Eagles became Super Bowl champs..My Dad, his friend, who had already been to a workout a few days before and every season would go somewhat regularly, and well that year was the TO acquisition so that was my first Lehigh workout...the day was like 98 degrees, that week was heat wave warning temps the whole week. I was blown away at just how many fans showed up...I remember seeing 20 tour buses that brought full bus loads of fans...WIP was broadcasting under the WIP tent, Howard was lurking around...The cheerleaders were signing their pictures for the fans...Future HOF Head coach Big Red, Andy Reid was right there as the whole team, just excellent memories... Man the day was great, that year should of been their year but I'm not still bummed out..well maybe a little!! LOL!! I loved the NFL back then...it was not long until all of the changes to the rules started to water down the product of The NFL its when the league started to treat the game as a product that was sold to consumers, no longer were the fans being in awe of witnessing great football games as much as being sold a product that once was awesome but was watered down to reap max profits..
Damn that record breaker dance was pretty clever
Die hard colts fan but he was the dwight freeney of Tennessee. Definitely one of my favorite players
Imagine if Freeney had been blessed with Kearse’s size.
Something super scary
Need a Julius Peppers one like this man.....him and Kearse was beasts coming off the edge
There have been so many guys the NFL has tried to give comparisons to Kearse that just never panned out. Mario Williams, Manny Lawson, Aaron Maybin, Vernon Gholston, Dion Jordan, Clellen Ferrell, Bruce Irving, Vic Beasley, Dante Fowler Jr, JD Clowney, Keke Mingo, JPP, just to name a few. None of them could amount to "The Freak"
Mario Williams was a stud
Mario Williams has way more career sacks
Bruce Irvin was good, Beasley was almost defensive player of the year, Mario Williams was great.
Fowler is solid, and JPP was a very good DE
Jevon was a freaking unit. Also seems like a pretty chill dude who loves ball.
A true Titan!
He would be just insane in this pass heavy NFL.
Post Night Train Lane Rookie Year. 14 interceptions in 1 season (12 GAMES)
There’s literally almost no footage of that.
@@Bigolcheeser ik I wish there was more film of him. He’s probably my fav player ever
Me and my dad used to play Madden colts vs Titans and I would rush off the edge every time with Kearse lmfao
Always dropping gems 🤘
I really enjoyed watching him play ever since he was in college
He is so underrated but he is a leader
A year or 2 ago I asked for this video on every upload… awesome
Yessir.. he paved the way for those that came after him.
Love the calls from Mike Keith....should have been the voice of the Vols. The timing was just off. Lets go FFREAK!
Jevon was entertaining to watch. He was drafted to perhaps the perfect place, as Jeff Fisher teams develop and get great production from their D-Line.
Dude was a d lineman chasing down wide receivers downfield unbelievable lol
Now l would of love to see him, against Earl Campbell BACK IN DAY.
I remember being 10 years old crying my eyes out when we lost that Super Bowl in 1999 man that still stings to this day😢😢😢😢
I cried at 25
That TD run by Eddie George 😳 power!
Oh yes they call him the freak! Fastest thing on two feet!
I was in love with Jevon Kearse when I was a kid. The freak, air McNair, and eddie george made the titans!!!
Man what a superbowl that was
Titans vd Rams
Honesty I hope we get to see the rematch this years SB 2022
This time hoping the Titans can get the Lombardi trophy
Nice, you guys used the super rare HD master of the Rams Titans! Perhaps could we see a full HD highlights upload? Please?!
Who else remembers him as an eagles 💚🦅
One of my favorite players as a kid
Good, good to see more Titan content on here
I went to the Rams game that year. We beat them in the regular season (my first NFL game). It was soooo loud. Fred Miller had like 5 false starts that game because he couldn't hear Kurt Warner's cadence. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago, seems like just yestetday.
I remember this game vividly!!!
Titans always been solid program
He was an awesome player ! Facts 1000x1000
Thanks For Uploading ☺🏈Could Imagine Jevon Kearse Played Defense For Houston Oilers
Steve Mc Nair had a very clean pocket and a pretty open Derrick Mason #85 on that very last play. That got to be one of the most heartbreaking ways to lose a Superbowl. Even worse than the Seahawks loss to the Patriots.
Seems like a great dude. Nothing but respect for him.
Javon Kearse, till this day, is still the absolute fastest off the snap I’ve ever seen. Not AD, not Von Miller I don’t care WHO! I STILL haven’t seen anyone faster off the snap than this cat. Crazy.
One Dominant Defensive End The freak was a beast
Buffalo still chocking in 2022 I love it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That boy do got some big hands
UNDERRATED defensive player
Came in peaking as rookie. First yr was his best year that made it rare.
Lavar arrington was trucking dudes in early 2000s
As a Bills fan I remember the freak destroying us in the music city miracle game more than I remember the actual miracle in itself!!! That obviously doesn't apply when the replay is shoved down my throat. Go BILLS!!!!
Dude cool asf
1:20 just look at the stats! Looks look a created character or Montez Sweat
Godfather of the speed athletic defensive end
5:44 left ma boi hangin lmao
This man had a 48 inch vertical, insane. Injuries derailed his career. He was probably the most athletic defensive lineman in the history of the game.
Him and julius peppers 💯
37 goofy
I remember we had him on my Eagles in the 2000s at some point. Don't really remember his impact at that time. I believe he was still good. I probably was only watching Dawkins and no one else on D lol.
Back when Florida was a powerhouse in college football I remember him flying around on defense
Jevon Kearse was a beast on defense
Jevon is the best
I think I prefer the white Titans helmet look, over the new colors and designs.
I use to put him on my team on Madden 🔥
My all time favorite DE
I'm not a small guy and I shook his hand once and it made me feel like a toddler
God bless you
Met Kearse in person at Wet Willies in South Beach.... damn he was big guy. 😳
He was goated in backyard football
Africa is the land of kings
Cheers from west Africa
🦅
A bad bad man he was
He was The Freak for his recklessness as a defensive force and a sack master. He was 6 foot 5 and 265 pounder at playing defensive end. He was the greatest defensive player in Titans history.
The greatest show on turf
This guy was a beast wish he and those Titans teams won a super bowl
2:48 Shouts to Arena Football League and Philadelphia Soul LEGEND Tony Graziani for ALMOST getting the glory of having been The Freaks rookie sack record QB ... ya win some, ya lose some
*My Father Named Me After Him* ✌🏾🥂🦖💪🏽 *Preciate It Pops*
He is that dude in madden 23 best pass rusher in the game
