The NFL tends to judge a player by all the physical traits they have but that doesn't judge a persons heart. John Randle was 260 lbs. of heart. Always good to see guys like Randle and another Viking Adam Thielen come from small programs undrafted with a great work ethic succeed.
Born and raised in southern MN in 77. I had the pleasure to watch so many awesome Vikings and Twins players its crazy. From Puckett to Hrbek to Randle and Doleman. Randle was great to watch and wish we had a D and O lines like the early 90s had.
buddy of mine was friends with Todd Bouman who was a backup QB for the vikes from 97-01 when I lived there. After home games on Sunday night we went out in Mpls with a ton of the players. Randle was a freaking great and fun guy to hang out with. bar bills at times were 10 to 20K and players(my measily 200 bucks) were all split up. it was fun times.

He was relentless player with the biggest heart for the game, he refused to be denied! Tasmanian devil with should pads on, feared and respected by QB's, they knew where he was lined up at all times! He is by far and away on of the best Vikings of all time, no one could match intensity.

It has always impressed me how many very good players came from Texas A&M-Kingsville ( Texas A&I ).
Loved watching him play, he played college ball about 30 min from my home in kingsville TX. At that time they were the Javalenas from TX a and I.
