      @@thedorklord8722 Randle’s mouth never stopped running and he was relentless at getting under his opponent’s skin. But he never did it in a mean way and Everyone respected John Randle. As a Vikings fan he was a delight, even more so since we’ve had so few. I’d fish with that guy any day.

    I met him twice. He gave my nephew and I a tour of his place and signed my nephews football. Such an awesome guy! And he's definitely not a "smaller guy. "... dude was a BEAST!

    John Randle was a VOLCANIC football player, who utalised being "short" to the absolute fullest. Being 6ft 1', he used his lower attacking point to destroy linemen from the bottom up on a weekly basis.

    John Randle’s NFL story is an inspirational one. The man had to sneak weights to his body in order to weigh enough. Once he was given a chance the man was a monster.

      Give me some Reggie White, Bruce Smith on the outside.
      Lawrence Taylor, Derrick Brooks, Dick Butkus at linebacker.
      Deion Sanders, Ron Woodson, Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott in the backfield.
      Now we have a defense!

    I firmly believe that Randle was the first ideal 3TECH/UT that guys like Dungy, Angelo, & L.Smith studied as a means to build their entire TAMPA 2 defensive scheme around for their base 4-3 seven man zone defense.

    The NFL tends to judge a player by all the physical traits they have but that doesn't judge a persons heart. John Randle was 260 lbs. of heart. Always good to see guys like Randle and another Viking Adam Thielen come from small programs undrafted with a great work ethic succeed.

    John Randle was an absolute BEAST! I honestly cannot think of any other word the best describes. There was no one like him at the time or even since that I can think of. He was a BEAST and now he's a HOFer. You earned it, big guy!

    Born and raised in southern MN in 77. I had the pleasure to watch so many awesome Vikings and Twins players its crazy. From Puckett to Hrbek to Randle and Doleman. Randle was great to watch and wish we had a D and O lines like the early 90s had.

    Man was so ferocious they took his face paint away calling it "war paint" it made him too powerful for player's safety... the leagues insurance wouldn't cover it! Lol I loved this guy!

    buddy of mine was friends with Todd Bouman who was a backup QB for the vikes from 97-01 when I lived there. After home games on Sunday night we went out in Mpls with a ton of the players. Randle was a freaking great and fun guy to hang out with. bar bills at times were 10 to 20K and players(my measily 200 bucks) were all split up. it was fun times.

    I grew up on when Mr. Randle was towards the end of his career but I was old enough to remember how crazy watching him play was and I'm not even a Vikes fan.

    1990 freshman year in st paul mn. That's when I learned to loved the game of footballs. Remembered my first purple starters jacket and so on. John Randle ,chris Doleman,Anothony Carter,cris Carter, Ismail( missile) etc..I feel old now. Go vikings

    John Randle was a good guy off the field. Would see him at the clubs in downtown Minneapolis, and he was always funny and cordial at the same time.

    For a good few years he was the most dominant interior linemen in the game undrafted undersized but one of the greatest characters ever play the game I am glad he was a viking and went into the Hall of Fame as a Viking

    One of my favorite statements. Regulators Mount up. Famous line from me wonderful movie. And John Randall was the leader of those Regulators in Minnesota. John Randle, Lawrence Taylor, and Ray Lewis but fear into the hearts of the offensive coordinators and quarterbacks, and possibly some running backs.

    John Randle is awesome, period. Hall of fame player and character, and seems like a cool guy too. I live in Buffalo, but Randle is in my top 5 all time favorite players.

    A DT with the size (6’1”, 287lbs.), speed and quickness of a DE. He was so fast, quick and disruptive. Was a trash-talker, who kept a smile on his face.

    My favorite player. Met him in 97 at a K-Mart opening. He talked to me about the lost world Jurassic park. I still have the autograph me gave me that day. Met Orlando Thomas the same day.
