The Lakers need those three things and Trae does not have length. I’ve been a Lakers fan since Jerry and Wilt laced them up. I believe our prospects aren’t good until we get some youth, otherwise just expect to be also rans for awhile until we get younger, lengthier and quicker. Shai and Ant are gonna go at it for a few years so let’s keep those picks and build for beyond.

To me the biggest thing we learned from playoffs without a doubt is that we desperately needed a back up center and we were very undersized. While we're probably bigger than the majority of league that was not the case vs nuggets and it wouldn't be the case vs Timberwolves either. 6'5 Reaves trying to guard a 6'10-6'11 MPJ summed it up.
That to me aside from getting the right coach is biggest priority this offseason. Getting a true back up center that can also share court with AD during streches and certain matchups and trying to get some bigger players particularly at sf.
Antoher thing to mention was our role players just weren't good enough. DLO, Reaves, Rui are talented and they've shown they can be great and have great games but with how inconsistent they were especially when aside from Bron and AD the 3 of them are supposed to be our offense i think it just paints a picture that you just can't have the 3 of them all back. I think you probably gotta move on from atleast 1 or 2 of them and that probably winds up DLO walking and Rui traded. The starters have to be consistent especially in playoffs it's just too crucial. To put it in perspective if they had averaged what they averaged during the regular season in series vs nuggets we would have won the series. They let us down and you just can't have 3 of your 5 starters do next to nothing out there and expect to win.

What the Lakers need to do to catch up and have any chance of competing with a dominating western conference is for starters get over the AD as the starting center and DLO as the starting PG obession‼️If you don’t start with upgrading those two important positions you are behind in the western conference. Every top team is better in those two positions.
That’s just the minimum of what is needed. If you don’t change those two keep the team in tact because your window is play in/1/2nd round exit anyway. And that’s only if Lebron stays and plays at the same level.

The first thing the Lakers need to do is hire a coach that knows how to maximize the talent they have on the Roster. I think they need to start there. Rui, Max Christie, Thomas Bryant, Christian wood, Lonnie Walker were all misused by this coach that was just let go. Max Christie is behind on his development. I saw the improvement when he could get the playing time, but the problem was, he couldn't get the playing time I thought he'd earned.

Totally against trading for a third star, IMO. If they can... Go all in on OG Anunoby in free agency, trade for Caruso since D-Lo seems to be hinting at walking. But I suppose they must decide if they want to upgrade at center and sign someone like Jonas to start or get AD onboard with playing center full-time in-which case they desperately need a legit wing like OG.
Finally. They need more firepower. Check and see if DeMarr or Buddy Hield are willing to take a discount to play with LeBron and AD. Extremely doubtful they can do all of this, but some of these would be potentially fun, which is kinda the point of being a fan haha!

I love Austin Reaves but this playoffs really exposes why is was a undrated players, he lacks the length and athleticism to be a good defender. Looking at the Twolves is really where the nba is heading in the future you was players with size and skill, players like Naz Reid and Jaden macdaniels. These guys will consistently deliver on the defensive end given their physical gifts but have the ability to contribute on the offensive end but even of they are not making shots they still impact the game.

If a healthy Vanderbilt had been available to hound Murray all series long, the Lakers are playing the Timberwolves right now. #2 Rob Pelinka either has to go ALL IN and get all the pieces to surrond Bron and A.D to win now... moving back to my topic earlier, how if you don't get vucevic then no one
is that, ya do know when i've said, there were a point in time that the boshtrich of the criami cheat with dwyane fraid being the hooker there is that, the boshtrich, even though managing to be examined like a flower forward as in softness, is that the heat managed their way to being the 6th best in rebounding efficiency. that is because i've read an article somewhere on their website a decade back. purporting mid 6 feet as beasts in rebounds. or live ball 50/50 along with glorifying the 3rd fiddle to be great mid ranger but horrible 3pter
if adhd managed his way to become a horrible 3pter but not necessarily overall like 19 footer then ya can just add mid range 3rd fiddle in there with other mid 6ft person who've worked somewhat of a wonder whilst not being known 3pter in taurine kings
    there ya have it.
model the rooster with the coach killer at the 1 with bunch of mid range potential opening up the paint etc still with beast rebounds. ya gotta time yo trap with speed defense deflect joker back downs while it's predictable. but don't get too tall you lose the basketball for tos

My two guys the Lakers should target are Steven Adams and Klay Thompson.
I think the Rockets would be willing to part with him since Segun is now their star center, young and rising talent. Dude avg like 21pts 9 rebs 5 ast at 21 years old. I think it's safe to say Steven Adams will be coming off the bench and perhaps he would rather be a starting C on a different team. He's a great pick and roller , good passer, rim protector, screener, and locker room guy. His contract is $12mill expiring next season. Only downside is that he hasn't been healthy for the past two seasons, so there's risk in taking him. But for one year expiring contract i think it's worth the shot. not sure what the Rockets would ask for in return, but i think the lakers could make it happen.
Klay Thompson would be a great guy to get. I think the criticism he gets its unjustified. the gsw were terrible all around, low shooting % for everyone including curry and wiggins - team was dysfunctional especially with draymond green making the situation worse. Klay has definitely lost a step or two, but he still shot 40% 3PT last season in a down year and his defense is still above average, although he isn't the stalwart defender he was. I think in a different setting Klay could improve offensively and defensively, but at the very least he can give you elite 3pt shooting and 18-20 ppg, this the lakers really need. idk what the lakers could offer klay, or if he is even interested in moving on from GsW, but i think he's worth $20 mill yearly.

What do you all think about Demar Derozan to the lakers? The lakers IMO need a closer on the team so when it comes down to those times where its the end of games,(outside of Lebron) we need someone who we can rely on to score and get downhill without a screen at a high level and the only high level effecient scorer that would be available is Derozan. I also think we can get him for around that 20 mill range, so it wouldnt completely botch our depth. The best teams have two top dogs and then a player who is a star in their roles, (i.e. Porzingis, Gobert, Jalen Williams, MPJ, even Aaron Gordon) I think Derozan could fill an efficient and reliable scoring role. I think it could work, it reminds me of the miami bron days with Wade not being the best three point shooter but a good scorer and Bosh with his versatility, Those were Brons most talented teams and as he gets older he needs more talented teams to be able to compete.
