Wow............It takes me 20 years back when I visited this lake ..........all alone .............but it was a mesmerizing scene when ..............I saw clouds of fog ...............and mountains were going to hide in fog...........Looks a road goes to heaven from here.................... I had noodles their which were prepared from local herbs...........I will never ever forget those moments................assets of life..........thanks for this video
The jizos stumped me too since I was a kid... haha. I have fond memories of the many weekends spent on Chuzenji-ko fishing for trout with my dad and his fishing buddies. We often stayed at the former Nikko Kanko Hotel (now Chuzenji Kanaya), where dad kept our boat moored at the old boat house which is like a base camp for paddleboarders and kayakers. Thanks for taking me down memory dori!
That is so cool to hear. It really made a believer out of me! What an amazing place to spend weekends. Nikko is so beautiful. We'd love to go back! Glad we could take you down memory lane.
A big thank you for this video. It was nicely done and thanks to you, I got to see Japan for its true natural beauty. I really loved the Ryuokyo Canyon and just finished the entire trek yesterday. Both my bf & I managed to see every single place mentioned from your video. So a big thank you. Going to be your new subscriber :)
This is definitely a great video and interesting take on Nikko. I was given a project to do an official guide on Nikko with Rakuten Travel and Tochigi Prefecture Tourism Bureau and wanted to see what kind of content exists and came across your guide. Definitely inspiring and gives me a chance to see other peoples magnificent work on this place! Thank you so much for sharing!
This is epic and thanks so much for the experience! Just curious what date was this? Certain time in October? The fall colors are magnificent and it seems you guys nailed the timing.
Great video! Can I ask about the specific month and dates you guys were there? We are going this December and wondering if it will be freezing....I know there probably won't be any yellow and red maple leaves
This looks amazing! I might go to Japan and I really want to go to Nikko but I'm extremely terrified of spiders. Did you encounter a lot of (big) spiders on your hike/in Nikko? Thanks for this informative video 😊
@@lyhthegreat well that's comforting ;) obv if I ever came face to face with a bear I would be terrified (yet mesmerized lol) but I don't have a irrational fear of bears! So right now I would say, I much rather see a bear than a spider in Japan ;)
Afaik the Japan Rail pass is valid on all lines operated by Japan Railways. So if you stick to the JR Lines, you can use your pass there. However, I'd wager most of the local transportation, like buses and cable cars, is not run by JR and thus your JR pass won't help much. Also, if you're coming to Nikko from Tokyo, the fastest way is using the tobu lines, but there are ways to get there using only the JR lines, so there your JR pass will help you.
Enjoying the video and you have done a perfect job on the edit! If you have time let me know what you think of my latest video just need some feedback! 😃
Thank you for showing us Nikko. Do you guys put Nepal in your travel plans?? Love her dimples haha......Keep travelling....Blessings ✌💜
Thank you! We have actually been to Nepal and love it. We have a video series of our climb to Everest Base Camp. We hope to come back soon!
@@ThePlanetD Thank you very much.....There are more places to explore..... they're waiting for you....we welcome you again.
@@ndoutsider1574 We agree, we only barely scratched the surface of Nepal.

This was great! Thank you for sharing. How long did you guys stay in Nikko for this itinerary?
We were in Nikko for 4 days. I think we could have used one more day to really experience it in a more relaxed pace.
Just a little thing: Tokugawa Ieayasu wasn't the first Shogun, but he was one of the most important ones.
yes I wanted to say that first shogun was wrong
This looks amazing! I might go to Japan and I really want to go to Nikko but I'm extremely terrified of spiders. Did you encounter a lot of (big) spiders on your hike/in Nikko?

hi, how did you get around nikko? do you know if the japan rail pass is valid inside nikko too? thank you!

Hi, what month is the best to come to nikko to see the autumn leaves
October is high season for leaves. We were there from Oct 26-Nov 2 and we were right at the end of it. So I suggest going a bit earlier than we did.
