Paolo fromTOKYO Hey Paolo, I love your Tokyo guide videos.. the recent 101 things to do video was amazing! As for “away from Tokyo guides” I think a Kyoto or Osaka video would be great! Both places interest me and look amazing / beautiful for their own reasons. Thank you for the amazing Tokyo content, I can’t get enough of your videos!
Hi Paolo since winter is around the corner for you's I would like to see the places you go snow boarding? and nothern places of Japan Sapporo Hakaido. My family and I will be in Tokyo next Saturday our whole itinerary is based on your channel thank you so much for all hard work you and Maiko put into your videos :)
My husband and I love watching your videos! We have 6 months until we return to Japan so watching your videos helps us not miss Japan as much! So excited to pop some popcorn and watch on this rainy Friday night!
As usual your videos are the best!!! I checked out a ton of your videos 5 years ago to prepare me for my Japan trip in 2019 and now I'm back again! Thanks so much! I didn't realize Edo wonderland was in Nikko! I put it on my must see list forever ago and then jus realized the shrine is in the same area. Will add to my list thank you
Hi Paolo, i just want to say thank you. I've been really depressed lately, but watching your videos make me smile and even laugh a bit. Please keep making videos. Happy new year to you!!
Loved Nikko. A wonderful time their and Nikko Wonderland. The shows are great. Thank you for making me homesick for my third home. Yamato being my second.
LOVED NIKKO! It was cold and i remember i ate an amazing tempura udon. The view, even the rain(yeah it was raining that day) the people there, the shrine and the path to go there ....MAGICAL. 100%RECOMMENDED.
I want to start by saying, I love your videos and I really support you and your channel. Im also married to a Filipino. But I want to share my thoughts about Nikko and this video. I am currently staying at the same hotel you did and spent 2 nights here (this is my 2nd night). This video is 4 years old so I want to keep this in mind as I leave my comment. I wish you shared more logistics about coming here and staying in this hotel. I arrived late in the day (7:30 pm) because I traveled from Nagano. You didn't mention that everything closes at 5 pm not just around the hotel area but in Nikko in general. Or that hours are so flexible that a place that says they are open can just not be. You also didn't talk about how you got around Nikko in your video. The hotel has restaurants but you have to arrange for dinner in advance. I have been using public transport and its important to tell people that trains and buses don't run often and are late in this area, that getting from the hotel to say the Nikko station where most things are takes an hour by train. Or how to get to Edo Wonderland, I took a bus that goes directly there from the train station. It seems like the best way to get around is by renting a car. The hotel itself is ok, its dated but the room I had was nice but dusty. If I had come here at the beginning of my trip (I have been to Tokyo, Fuji, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nagoya, Narai-juku) then my feelings about this hotel would be less disappointed. I feel like its a little too expensive for what you are getting. The same with the breakfast buffet, it was too expensive for what I got. There isn't wifi in the hotel except for the lobby, despite promising free wifi on their website and google maps. Also all the signs in the hotel are in japanese and the staff does speak a little bit of english. That isn't a big deal but something tourists should be aware of, because this video is meant to attract tourists to this area. (which has been successful because it attracted me and my husband) With that said, I want to add some positives. The view from our room is BEAUTIFUL. I appreciate the vending machines in the lobby. The onsen (public and private) are pretty good, a little dated and gritty. Again there isn't much to do around the hotel area, there is a lovely foot bridge but intense steps you need to go up or to go down with luggage. The only conbi is Lawsons and its half way between the hotel and the station. So that is a lot of walking too. The walk from the station to the hotel is 20 minutes which isn't a big deal but when its 7:30 and there are no taxi's, its very dark, and there are 6 flights of stairs to go down or up to cross a bridge to your room. It makes a difference. We left our hotel for the station around 10 am to go to Edo Wonderland, It didn't look much different during the day as it did at night. Hardly anything is open, a lot of the area around the hotel is actually abandoned. BUT...Edo Wonderland was AWESOME! Would do it again. The restaurant you ate at, was really good but they changed their menu a bit. I hope you take these as notes and not bad opinions. I have done other suggestions from other videos you have done and they were great. But I think its important for me to share my experience after taking tips from your videos. Hope you think about this in future travel videos.
Thank you for this wonderful guide! I recently went to Nikko on recommendation and this video helped me prioritize which activities to try. Those fried red bean and tofu skin buns are the best food in the entire world! Thanks again!
The Toshogu shrine looks beautiful in the mist! Japan is a humid country, so seeing the fog and rain is a realistic view of the experience. Love your videos!
Paolo, 100%, Japan is my last country to visit maybe over & over , many times if permitted.Thank you and your wife for your very informative & no frills tips.
@@diahtiman303 Hi☆ It is crowded in middle October. But, October is the season for beautiful autumn leaves. Please come and see beautiful autumn leaves.
I will be visiting Nikko next month. Thanks for this guide. In fact, I planned to do 8 out of 10 things recommended! And maybe dressed as the Daimyo Lord at Edo Wonderland!
I really enjoyed this video. We did a day trip to Nikko from Tokyo in 2014 but we did none of the things you presented. We probably need to visit again. Good job as always.
my friends and I are planning our first trip to Japan and are considering a quick visit to Nikko. I'm so glad you made this video because it'll help us make our decision !
Wow this place looks amazing! Thank you for doing such a good tour. The gorge walking would be very cool. I love seeing natural and historic Japan- Nikko is now a must visit for my trip next year
Nice video. I visited Nikko last July, but I stayed at Nikko Station Hotel 2 (the cheaper one.). I really enjoyed Edo Wonderland. I didn’t go down the river, but I walked past the river from the station to Eco Wonderland in 90 degree sunny weather. So many gorgeous temples.
lol I have been to Nikko once a couple of years ago with friends but it looks like we missed out a lot. The hotel we stayed was Nikko Senhime Monogatari, they have a very nice and outdoor onsen too
Where is the private onsen rental place?? It looks so magical and I’d like to book it for my upcoming trip but you didn’t mention the name. Thank you so much for all your great work and the early morning onsen shots! 😊
We were in Japan for 3 months earlier this year as "tourists", we pretty much filmed everywhere we went for our RUclips channel, so if you need ideas on things to do/what to expect then you might be interested in our videos 👌
