Went to Micro Center for my kids & ended up getting this Mag 240r liquid Cooler & after 2 hours of Cpu intensive Odyssey i’m impressed 🍷 i mounted it on Top and turned the fans Pushing air Out as i have 3 fans already pushing air in from the front & 1 rear Pushing out ( 3 in / 3 Out = total now ) butt i’m guessing if fans we’re pushing air in towards the Radiator mite keep Cpu even Cooler butt my R7-3700x 65w isn’t Close to your Very hungry intel 10th Series Chip 🤔 hope this helps anyone & Thanx 🇵🇹
Snagged the 360r for my ryzen 3900x, keeps it idle at around 30c at 4ghz. Liked it so much I bought the 240 for my fiancé’s micro atx build. Some people I’ve seen on reviews complained about the fans being loud. These things are whisper quiet. I’m assuming they got a dud
Not only that but you can buy fans relatively cheap. Like I have Arctic fans that are absolutely amazing and they pair well with the radiator. Just triple check to make sure it's to daisy chain kind to make your life easy. I got three fans for 34 bucks
You should probably advise that MSI had already issued a recall for the MAG Core Liquid 240R and 360R. MSI said that a "small portion" of these AIOs are producing sediments that cause blockages which results in messing up the AIO's heat dissipation. This seems to only affect a small portion of their AIO but you wouldn't want to run the risk of getting a defective unit so just stay away from it.

If you are referring to the fan could be the bearing if you are referring to the pump that does normally make a hum here and there but if it is very loud something is broken 100%
its such a shame, the fail rate this aio has, myself included. lasted around 15 months. msi wouldnt take it back emptied out the coolant, and it looked like gone off milk. ( now they are doing a big recall on the 240 & 360

You have to check, whether the header on your motherboard is set to PWM Controlled or DC Control. It could be, that your fans are running full speed the whole time. And I heard from some other reviews, that the fans may be a little louder than for example noctuas, but in a case you shouldn’t really hear them when the cpu is idle. Edit: PWM is right, you can control them via MSI‘s Dragon center then.
@@Y0riginal hello, i noticed that it was the pump, i dont think i have an aio pump header on my motherboard. The fans are silent, i dont have the motherboard manual because i bought the pc prebuildt. It is like a buzzing sound, i think the pump is going 100% but the fans are going 15% so i cant really hear them. @@sovie7141 The CPU_OPT or the CPU_FAN headers should be fine. I would suggest daisychaining the fans into CPU_FAN and plugging the pump into CPU_OPT. You then should be able to control it via Dragon Center or the Asus software.

@@sovie7141 You can set the fan curve in the BIOS. But control is via a software. Just type „MSI Dragon Center“ and go to the official site from MSI. There you can download it. The Fan controls should have a function, where you can plug them in into another. I don’t exactly know wether the splitter is for the argb or the fans. You can use a splitter as well, but they should have the function itself.

I'm looking for overkill seasonally, but obviously not too much. Who knows? I may even be able to bump up the clock a fair bit too.

I have this Cooler on my gigabyte Aorus motherboard, anyone know what software to use to control the fan-speeds? I got the RGB to work with AORUS software but no luck with the cooler fan speeds anywhere, not even MSI dragon center.

You need to have an ARGB Header on your motherboard. Those are 3 Pins and not 4 Pins! Really important not to swap it, you could damage your motherboard and fans with that. if you don’t have a Header, you will need an argb hub. That’s pretty ennoying, but the only way to get them working. Amazon has some of them, just look at some reviews or ask in a forum. There are some good articles about that!
You need a 3 Pin ARGB Header on your motherboard. Look into the manual or just tell me which motherboard you got and I can take a look. If you don’t, you have to go with an ARGB Hub. That’s the not so cool way.
@@Y0riginal I have a z490 and the rgb cables are all pigtailed and plugged into the proper rgb header. But there's zero instructions on how to control the rgb. And they just decided on their own to turn Christmas green and red lol I Hate it and want to change it. The software msi says to download gives me zero ability to even input my product or to recognize it at all.

Use MSI afterburner so you can manually set the fan speed relative to the temparature.

The performance should be similar. The only difference would probably be noise. Check each one on amazon for reviews on noise levels.
