Grease on your scalp and a little bit on your locks is not the end of the world the way a lot of natural hair folks want you to believe. A little bit goes a long way. My hair has been locked since 2000.
If you have to dilute before washing, just keep a squirt bottle in the shower. You'll maybe need 10% shampoo and fill the rest with water. Faster lather, less chance of buildup and shampoo lasts a lot longer.
Yes! I've had yo dilute my shampoo because it was getting trapped in my locs
Do you use conditioner? If so do you dilute that too?
@@Become.greatt I use hair cholesterol twice a month between washes. It's like a deep conditioner. On weeks I don't shampoo, I add it to my hair and rinse well. No buildup yet

See back in the day we kept it simple our mom's braided our hairwith grease we didn't get build up and all that stuff cuz they didn't overuse we overused we use this we use that just keep it simple a little bit goes a long way and right now it's like you have to retrain your hair to lock again and you stay on a wash regimen so I think you'll be fine just use a little until you get the results you need then maybe you don't have to use it anymore unless you want to what am I saying I'm saying you did a good job it's about time you showed us that Bob LOL
Yep. That's because we get caught up in all these products they throwing at us. Or that's part of it, lol. One product have so many lines, make you wanna try everything. But i got off that train a while back.

If you didn't have a build up problem before, you gonna have one NOW!! BLUE MAGIC is an old school fave , but it's gonna give you serious build with lint. Try qhemet biologics.
I have to say that Qhemet Biologics is the truth for moisture and growth retention on my 4c hair!! I absolutely love this line!!

I use grease weekly with no problem. Everyone’s hair is different!
It sure is . I remember when my mom would do ponytails in my hair when I was little . She put blue magic and when she would take the rubberbands at the base out there would be lint right where she put the grease
Castor Oil Treatment - 1x a week or biweekly with low heat... moisture and growth! *Also, invest in a handheld shower head - amazing for making sure all shampoo/conditioner/product is rinsed out!
Girl gone do your old school technique…. Blue magic wasn’t a problem back then… kept your hair shining and moisturize
I love the cut. We started locs around the same time. I’ve been wanting to cut my locs into a bob for awhile myself, I just haven’t built up the courage to do it yet. ☺️ I’m kinda curious to see how much build up was in those locs that you cut off. 🤔I know this may seem weird to ask, but ... Do you think you would do a video of you cutting into some of the locs to see inside?
Your loc bob is so cute 👍 I use the same Blue Magic bergamot mixed with coconut oil. Never had a problem with lint buildup because I sleep in a silk cap every night. The silk cap drinks up the BM&CO over a few nights wear but my locs are doing good and my new growth is strong and healthy.

Your bob is so beautiful on you!! I LOVE Blue Magic, and use it often on both of my daughters loose natural hair, but I wouldn't recommend using it to retwist your locs. It will definitely cause build-up.
Great that you have saved the cuttings from your Loc's! Now you can reattach them at will! If you want a elegant updo you have the length to add and remove as you please!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I've cut my long locs into a bob 2 weeks ago. I swear i feel lighter & better. I have issues with dryness. I moisturize my hair but it just seems extra dry 🙃

I’m a year post partum and started my locs a month after having my baby…I think my actual hair shaft locd but my roots are not budging as well..
Blue magic is ole school grease be careful only because it causes buildup and lint plus I love the cut on you

We are the same month birth day to our locs. Some of my ends are getting weak so my hairdresser is gonna give me a trim and add on to my shorter layer locs to even it, to make it look fuller. Than using marley hair. Is that good

After seeing some of these recent “back to grease” videos, especially willonawhim’s trying all the blue magic varieties video, I’m think about going back to it too - the one with the hemp maybe 🤔
Not retwisting with it though. Just on the scalp after washing to seal in moisture. I realized as I was watching these new grease videos (and consulting with my mom lol) that i’d been using it wrong my whole life - probably why I always hated it tbh.

I love using grease on my locs, and if I don’t have anything else, I use vaseline! It works!
you dont get build up at all? how do you use it? like how much for each loc?

I use Blue Magic hair grease on mine and my son's locs since we've had them and we don't have any build-up and we've had locs for 2 years.
