  • The BMW 7 Series breaks new ground with some impressive technology, carbon fibre infused chassis, and incredibly low CO2 output - but is it finally luxurious enough to beat the Mercedes S-Class?

    You were driving one with the M Sport suspension instead of a normal 7 series, and then you said that it doesn't have the ride quality that the Mercedes has. I just wanted to point that out and let you reflect on what you said.

    I see people arguing about something they will never afford.. its just matter of taste and cash.. I prefer the 7 series dosent mean S.class, A8, XJ, Quattroporte are bad.. they just dont work for me !

    Very nice, cant wait to get my one... Key is a total gimmick though, you can do everything mentioned via the BMW app on your phone, that way you don't need to carry a brick around with you.

    I've always thought the BMW 7 series is an equal to the MB S-Class when talking prestige and status. It just delivers all that in a more sporty, less classic way, the BMW way.

      Ngl the Jaguar XJ looks like a driver the all leather and beautiful interior is a wow factor I’ve driven it and believe me it doesn’t feel like a limo, the tech does let it down tho compare it to the BMW 7 series and you feel silly like why would you not go for it? You wouldn’t because the BMW looks boring and doesn’t have the wow factor like the jag does. The S class is only for being Chaffeured I don’t rate the tech, or driver fun only good if your a CEO

    I own Sclass and love beamer too. But the truth is, Merc is a notch above and the review concludes the ride qualitydeficit when compared to Merc.
    Beamer is still focused on Sportiness as a priority whereas Sclass is built for chauffeur driven luxurious experience. Plus the Three star on hood says it all. When we consider price , I think beamer is a complete package.

    • @vyrnmn
      @vyrnmn 8 лет назад +9

      +Albert Arrabal Since it's clear you don't know much, here's some information for you so you can make a better judgement.
      BMW have gone to some extraordinary lengths when you consider the engineering and manufacturing processes involved. Yes the gadgets can be seen as gimmicks, for the most part but the way this new 7 has been built is what's most important.
      They've learned from their experience with the i8 and i3 and are one of the few big players in driving lightweight vehicle technologies forward right now. For this new 7 they've used CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) as structural parts of the unibody (a first for this kind of car), and as such they're saving up to 130kg per vehicle. Not only does this improves economy, lower emissions, and improve structural rigidity, but also improves braking, accelerating, cornering, driving feel.. you get the picture.
      The new technology that BMW are developing and putting in cars right now will be commonplace for vehicles in 10 years. They're driving the bleeding edge of development and it's a shame you're too naive to realise.

    • @milopichu
      @milopichu 8 лет назад

      +Albert Arrabal Funny because the A8 looks like a stretched A4 and the S-Class looks like a stretched C-Class. Somehow it's in the details and the little things where the bigger cars bank on. oh and the engines. :)

    • @AlbertArrabal
      @AlbertArrabal 8 лет назад

      +The Truth Mercedes took the S class and cut it 50 cm. That's how they got the C class. Recently they've taken the S Clas again and have cut it 30 cm. And that's how they got the E Class

    • @AlbertArrabal

      +James Franklin Boring piece of words. Nice try though. Aaaand I don't think you know me enough to say that I don't know much lol

    • @AlbertArrabal
      @AlbertArrabal 8 лет назад

      +James Franklin The S Class will always be the best in this category. The A8 and the 7 series are always fighting to be second and none of them can manage to. Even worryingly, the "All new" 7 series looks exactly the same as the old 7 series, which is from 2008. The current A8 is from 2010.
      But anyway, if you think the bimmer is better, it's ok. Not everyone can be right forever...

    • @andreiarama8745
      @andreiarama8745 8 лет назад +2

      +The Truth u don't understand me ! the looks of the 7 series is more appealing for the younger clients! the s class is more luxurious because is the base for the Maybach. BMW has no need to go into the Mercedes territory because it would be suicide (merc is better ) plus, like I said they have RR. for me the 7 is better because i don't like the Mercedes interior and seeing the new e class it's now just a matter of how close you are to understand if it's c,e or s class ! greetings

    • @andreiarama8745
      @andreiarama8745 8 лет назад +1

      +The Truth Mercedes had to stop production of the Maybach after 10 years with a huge loss! maybe for you the merc interior looks good. why? because it has a big screen ? bigger is better always, right ? can you understand that liking something is just a matter of taste? for me the only thing that it does is to make me puke! the thing is that Mercedes makes bling-bling cars. it's all about show off. look at the c63amg with 510 hp and still can't beat the M3 on a track !!!!!!!
