Cyclists have more money than sense, look what motorcycle you could get for this sort of money, proper track race set up 200mph, that's what is called value for money, why do they fit disc wheels, when their ultimate aim is to produce a light bike?
The vast majority of cyclists does NOT have this kind of money. These bikes are for bat-shit crazy rich people who would not know what else to spend their money on (a situation I wish everybody could be in, admittedly). Sad thing is, the only "trickle-down effect" from the increasing number of vastly overpriced superbikes is that lower-tier bikes are getting insanely expensive, too.
If the ultimate aim is to produce light bicycles, then they might as well not add brakes at all. Use your head. A disc brake wheel is there for safety, and they aren’t going to compromise that performance by adding rim brakes just to save a few grams.
This bike is 15 lb with disc brakes. Okay add your pedal weight to that. Still very light. $12.5k is not bad for a peak performance Tour stage winning race bike. A top performer motorcycle is at least $50k and a top car like a Supercar is six figures if not in the millions, so why compare a Bugatti or Ducati with a $12.5k bicycle. A Bugatti is for a “bat-shit crazy rich people,” not this.
@@sarahtoustra7127 I guess you could just change the rims/tires then. Also, low pressure does not mean slower. It's about rolling resistance and loss of momentum due to vibrations that matter. I run 75psi on my 28 clinchers and keep up just fine in races.

Probably cost an eye watering £12k in that spec😅😅
You should weigh the bike without saddle. It would be event lighter! And unrideable as without pedals. 🤣
Looks like chinese mass produced frames. Except the ISP
Cheap composite frame
Looks like a BMC knock off.
A top spec Ducati is over 50k… nice things cost money.
@@einundsiebenziger5488 I saw a Aluminum Cannondale Synapse with Tiagra components for 1750 usd…. The market is ugly right now.
Very poor quality bikes, so many of us are having problems with our carbon revolts cracking at the seat tube
Hookless rims, no thanks.
Why the opposition to hookless? Genuinely curious. I haven't ridden hookless yet, but it seems a lot of brands are moving that direction.
Hookless in the next logical step.
Why are you even against it?
Just for the sake of it?
Very limited choice of tires, very low pressure, unsafe.
@@sarahtoustra7127 How is it unsafe?
@@sarahtoustra7127 I guess you could just change the rims/tires then. Also, low pressure does not mean slower. It's about rolling resistance and loss of momentum due to vibrations that matter. I run 75psi on my 28 clinchers and keep up just fine in races.
The definition of an ad, what a complete joke.
While we do release some sponsored or commercial content, first look videos and bike reviews are NOT! Simply put, BikeRadar review videos are not for sale, and never will be 🤗 Thanks for watching! xx
Everything is an add.
@@bikeradar And by basically reading the seller site script unpaid without a single negative word you get the commercial content job in the future.
@@yarlon2014 Hi Yarlon, Simon here. I adapted the script for this video based off the original news story I wrote for www.bikeradar.com (www.bikeradar.com/news/2023-giant-propel/).
This is a news video, and not a review, so we're simply presenting the claims and information provided by the manufacturer (hopefully in an informative and entertaining way). That doesn't mean we are endorsing those claims, however - they are presented here without judgement.
Once we've had time to ride this bike properly we will publish a full review, where we'll go on the record about our opinions on the bike and any positives or negatives.
Thanks for watching. Simon
Another silly over priced and cheaply fabricated Far East sweatshop made CF stock cookie cutter bike. Gullible suckers are born every minute. 😀😀
Dude, have you ever even ridden a carbon Giant? I’ve won many races on them and they are no joke
fuck i really want to buy this bike, but its hard to tell who is getting that Giant money or not. Trusting a bike journalists is like trusting your sheep with a wolf
