Since winning the U-23 world title in 2010 UCI Cycling Road World Championships, Team Jayco AlUla's Michael Matthews has had his sights set on being the first-ever athlete to pair that U-23 championship with a coveted elite victory.
From high altitude training in Livigno to course recon in Glasgow, follow Michael on his journey leading up to the 2023 UCI Cycling Worlds.

Focus, tenacity and being realistic are the hallmarks of all winners, which includes Matthews. And we love his humility.
I qualified for Glasgow in my age group, but won’t be going. Now that I have seen the course I wish I was. Give me a punchy, technical course over a mountain climb any day. As an Aussie I will be cheering for Bling. Good luck mate.

Remco hat die Junioren-Weltmeisterschaft und nicht die U23-Weltmeisterschaft gewonnen. Er ist dort nicht angetreten, weil er bereits Profi war.

LOVE my Giant bicycles, thanks. "Bling" has always been a wheel follower, not a winner. Had all kinds of talent/potential 10 or 12 years ago, never did much with it because he was never willing to take chances, let it fly. Nice career, but I think not what he and his fans were thinking he'd accomplish.
