This is the 4th SJ6 review I've watched and, by far, the best. Just off down to my local camera store in Chiang Mai to buy one. Looks streets ahead of my SJ4000 that I have at present.
What a wonderful review and explanation of features and use! I am new to these cameras and very much appreciate your time!
First review that include its accessories, cool!
Wow mate that camera has great stabilization, comparable if not better than hero.
Thorough review. I just got one...can't wait to test it out. Watch out for those Hell's Angels.
Hi Bob
excellent review, I have this camera I also have the 4000 which I added an external mic to and it works a treat, I got this one as it had the external mic option but cant seem to kill the wind noise. I used it on the last few of my metal detecting videos, I have it in the waterproof case with a hole cut to attached an external mic which has extensive wind muffs but still getting too much noise, I have been onto sjcam and updated software as instructed but still the same. I have gone back to my 4000 for detecting videos which is a pity as the video quality is excellent on this for the price.
Thx again for uploading
Alex
A brilliant and comprehensive breakdown, I am currently putting all my 'Piso' away so I can avail myyself of something a bit more money probaly the Osmo 4 but I could change my mind, a good 12 or 15 years ago I camped and road my bike on the coast road got to know the area very well so your video brought back a few memoeies, thank you for your fantastic and 'hones' reporrt.
Thanks for your very kind comments, glad you found the video useful. It is a lovely area to live too. No worries about the typos and spelling, I do it all the time!
😀
Nice camera!
Great review..
Thankyou for this video, very informative!
You're welcome! x
I don't know about camera, but outdoor views are amazing! Where is it!??? (*Brixham, found it later)
That's the place!
What you think about this model? I watched your clips and my opinion the gyro is bad. I saw a lot of freezes. It is strange, when you walk or move the image stops and goes. The footage are not fluent. I don't like it. Gitup Git2 seems to be better.
That sounds more like a playback issue with your PC.
Hi admin, is it really worth to buy FITSPARK EAGLE IMAX ACTION CAMERA UNDER 10,000? WHICH IS REALLY BEST SJCAM S6 LEGEND OR FITSPARK EAGLE IMAX? SUGGEST ME! TYPE C CONNECTIVITY?
I never had a chance to test this camera so have no idea!
Nice detailed review. Subbing. There's a new model the SJ6 Legend AIR. I hope you can also review the AIR.
Thank you for your review, a great help for a common user like me.
I just received my SJ6 Legend, that I intend to use in-car for rally car footage, camera mounted in roll bar in centre behind bucket seats, would you be so kind to comment my options for daylight, prior to next event: MP4, 1080P 1920x1080 60fps, gyro high, centre metering, FOV narrow (or medium?), bite rate medium.
With a previous camera every night stages I tried just gave a few seconds before turning off, which was so frustrating, and main reason for buying this SJ6 due to front panel confirming recording, as I had to start recording before entering car, to put helmets and adjust seat belts and to save car´s battery all auxiliary lights were off.
To avoid this, do you suggest any change for night footage, to the above settings I learned from your video.
Thank you so much,
Rui
1080 60, but I prefer average metering, you'll have to try it. Narrow FOV could be ok and gyro high. Experiment!
Is it possible to take photos during videos?
thanks!
"distortion correction" works great on stills if the "gyro" ist turned off. Can`t see any difference in video mode though.
Mmm, I only tried video mode. I'll take a look. thanks.
I can't record slow motion video while my sjcam sj6 legend connected to my pc via wifi. To start recording i used remote control watch. But when camera connect to pc via wifi it begin with video mode and not record slow mo or take photo. Help me please!
Sorry mate, I have no idea. Maybe try the SJCam Facebook group?
SJ6 Legend that after updating firmware was left without touch and with the image of lcd in negative !!! I can not find any solution in the forums, except to buy a GoPro !!
Sorry, I don't have an answer. And don't have the camera anymore. Have you tried downgrading to previous FW or asking SJCam? Their aftersales is usually good.
Mate you look like you need a shot of jack there..lol :)
So can the small front screen be used as a monitor for selfies?
No, it just displays mode, time, etc.
hi what would your recommend im looking for a action camera cant afford a go pro but have been looking at the 3 plus possibly with lcd bac pac ive been looking at the eken h9 the akaso ek700 the thieye i60 ? id like good sound and wifi is a must
This camera, THiEYE t5e, JCam M20 or 5000xElite, Git2 you choose. All tests are on my channel with buyiong links!
I have a question, I´m about to order this camera in AMAZON; however, I see that the case where you can touch the screen is only 3M and with the waterproof case is up to 30M ... What if I´m diving with the 30M waterproof case and I want to take videos or photos and I required to touch the screen to do it... would I be able to do it or the buttons in the right side of the camera would allow me to use settings as well.. The reason I ask is because I usually take videos and photos when I am in the water and my SJCAM 4000 requires the use of the buttons so I can change from video to photos...! please help
Yes you can still use buttons at greater depth. Don't think you can use touch screen back at depth.
Hey Bob, when are you gonna review the Thieye T5?
Hopefully getting one soon, was offered one today. Should have in a week or two.
i want to buy the sjcam sj6 but i read the viewing touch screen is very dim in bright sunlight and thus not useable. is that true?
No screens are great in bright sunlight, it was a good as most.
DOES THIS CAM HAS VIDEO TAGGING.... RECORD PAST PRESENT N FUTURE 30 SECONDS ???
IF NO WHICH OTHER SJ CAMS HAS THIS... OR ANY OTHER BRAND ??
Not as far as I know.
A camera that can record the future? Maybe you'll see that in Star Wars ;) No video tagging either.
Can I turn off all the blinking lights and front display? i hate looking like a Christmas tree when riding. lol
Think it's in the settings menu
Thank you my friend! I looked at many reviews, and your video also helped me with the choice of an action camera. My choice was based on SJCAM 6 legend. Satisfied with 100%. I share the result of the recording. On this video, sound through the built-in microphone: ruclips.net/video/KXl02nK3hkw/видео.html, and this is via external ruclips.net/video/1TnCeLwuZGY/видео.html. In both the video used 2K mode. On HD it turns out badly, especially when there is not much light.
does this cam have webcam function...????
I think so.
Should be listed in the specs.
So, the final conclusion is..? :)
Up to you mate. There are a few good ones out there to choose from. If you want a touch screen and don't want to pay out £200+ this one would be good,
Thanks for your terrific reviews, but you may want to consider a manicure :-)
That thumbnail was split 40 years ago in an accident and has never grown properly since!
Well that's ok then. Carry on...
My other nails are immaculate! I'll mail you a photo ;)
So thoughtful, but no need. Hey, I second the Thieye T5 request.
Yeah, Bob. Let's turn your flying blog into beauty blog. :-D Just kidding.
