@@Joe1935429 Someone should ask him about that, but it was probably to intimidate hitters. A lot of guys were legit terrified of facing Randy. Pedro and Clemens had to hit guys to intimidate. Randy just had to stare.
In esence a misanthropist but to hate the popcorn vendors, c'mon! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I hope he didn't hate the ball girls, there were some nice looking ones there.
Randy is looking sharper than ever. Love the goatee, and the cut; smooth glasses as well. He was the best, and I’ll never forget what he did for us, in Seattle, lifting our spirits, with those incredible teams. -gal, not at all ugly
Absolute legend in the game and one of my personal favorites as a kid. Definitely one of the most intimidating. The Unit looks good in retirement. Almost looks like he could Dan's brother or a cousin at the very least.
Can anyone who watched Johnson pitch and scowl on the mound all those years...honestly say they are not surprised to see him be so talkative and light-hearted? He sacred me through my TV...
I had always assumed Randy could speak, but I never heard him speak before this. In my imagination he just grunted and shot that terrifying look at you. Turns out that he's hilarious and engaging.
I cannot believe how good RJ looks, wow!! Such an intimidating figure on the mound who was always up for the battle w any hitter in the game; A Legendary Pitcher!
I just made the same comment. I knew his voice reminded me of someone famous and it took about 5 minutes to recall Jesse Ventura. Don't know if it's age or just that I didn't hear a lot of interviews of the Big Unit like this during his playing days.
Man, seems like a diff person than the one I grew up watching and hearing stories about. Actually, I don't think it was stories he was a confirmed asshole to everybody; players, media, fans.
We tortured this guy in the bronx before and after games. Tortured lol Thank goodness, there was a chain-link fence between us and him and his bus lol And I Know he remembers lol
Randy didn't even feel sorry for plunking that bird. If I could have retired at 46 with millions to my name, I'd be a bit more personable, too. As it stands, I'm as angry as Randy Johnson was on game day.
Good to see Randy, looks great!. Smiling more, but still badass.
Randy is awesome, still one of my favorite players of all time. When he would take the mound with that mullet you knew you were in for a long day.
Never realized Randy was so humorous.
Well, he wasn't. Retirement has done him good, although he'll never mellow.
I knew I recognized you, used to binge all those Larry Bird videos years ago

This dude was an absolute bad ass on the mound. He looked like he hated everyone, even his own teammates and the popcorn vendors.
Lol
It’s weird seeing Randy Johnson smiling and joking now that he’s retired

I don’t think I have ever seen him smile or joke!

This is crazy. I have never seen him so animated and comfortable. This is awesome.
We need more of the Unit!
I love this!!! I cant believe they really called Randy Johnson😂! Love DP!
Nothing better than when a guest makes Dan crack up! Great show, Dan is a national gem
Randy too.
What a great interview. Get him on the show more!
Can anyone who watched Johnson pitch and scowl on the mound all those years...honestly say they are not surprised to see him be so talkative and light-hearted? He sacred me through my TV...
Yeah I was thinking the same thing lol
Randy in my 5 since I started watching the game around 1970.
Good to see him still doing so well n lively. I keep meaning to check out his photography, if not just for seeing the angles he can shoot down from 😆
Now that was an interview. What a legend, wish Dan asked Randy about the bird he hit
Randy obviously thought that bird was crowding the plate...
I had always assumed Randy could speak, but I never heard him speak before this. In my imagination he just grunted and shot that terrifying look at you. Turns out that he's hilarious and engaging.
The literal reason I'm a baseball fan. God I love the big unit
If you close your eyes and just listen to him talk, he sounds a lot like Jesse Ventura.
Hahahaha except the big unit has the capacity to be honest
What a great interview. Loved it.
I cannot believe how good RJ looks, wow!!

This was great! Randy is the man, still!!! 🤣
Great interview, just fabulous
So cheerful! Retirements done him well
Awesome interview. Speaking of players who played into their 40s, you should get Jagr on the show. NHL playoffs coming up too so it could be timely.
Great interview by Randy Johnson.
That dude had me laughing the whole Interview
Yo I was so wrong , Randy you're great! Love you Dan ... Great interview
Wow! Randy had a game face scowl but is really a super friendly guy. I had no idea.
Love that Randy has all the stuff within his (long) arms reach
Coming in loud and clear, Randy lol
Legendddd
Randy was always my favorite pitcher but damn I love him even more after retirement because of this show.
Randy looks great, still.
Legend
This guy's speech pattern is just like Jesse Ventura. Sounds like him too.
I just made the same comment. I knew his voice reminded me of someone famous and it took about 5 minutes to recall Jesse Ventura. Don't know if it's age or just that I didn't hear a lot of interviews of the Big Unit like this during his playing days.
Also sounds a bit like uncle Ted Nugent too
It was a privileged to watch this guy pitch. If some weren't old enough to watch him. He was A PLEASURE to watch pitch. Everyone was scared of him.
A landmark of America's Game. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I DIDN'T KNOW RANDY'S COMEDIC SIDE. JUST BECAME A BIGGER FAN.
Randy's honest and he's funny
A great teacher teaches
Why is he screaming LOL
One of the greatest pitchers ever. I think he would 400 + strikeouts in a season today.
Un-hittable human
Nasty mfer
The goat
I’d love to know what it feels like to be THAT good at something
What a hoot! The Big Unit has a wicked sense of humor.
He’s so much more animated and jovial than I would have thought.
What an intelligent guy, im impressed 👏
Oh boy, Randy Johnson has a voice.
That’s cute Dan. 😂😂
Elite
Randy seems to have aged well on multiple levels. Very engaging.
I think he is a Christian now that found God ,that's why he is happier ,seriously being a Christian made me more nice to people.
Goddamn, Randy is funny!
What a badass lol 💪🏼👍🏼
Great interview. Am I the only one who notices he's wasted?
The Big Unit! shame his yankees run was underwhelming
Wasnt he like 40 then.
Old school I tore my rotator but I just let it scar over
Big Unit, Nolan Ryan, Goose Gossage. Scariest pitchers ever.
hope paulie gets to play the neil peart drum kit randy was gifted….
Not one question about the bird Randy blew up with a fastball?
I think Dan knows what he's doing. Of all the show hosts in the world, you choose to offer Dan Patrick advice on conducting an interview.
RJ is the man. Offset guest out of nowhere. Take the show to his place for SB and invite Chuck over for some chicken wings!. Lol
We were so stoked when Big Unit came to H-town…..sorry Randy our bats went to sleep 💤 on you!!!
Randy is funny lol
Forgot that randy and mark McGuire were teammates at usc.
If I close my eyes during this interview. I swear I hear Adam Driver instead of Randy Johnson
Man, seems like a diff person than the one I grew up watching and hearing stories about. Actually, I don't think it was stories he was a confirmed asshole to everybody; players, media, fans.
Randy is funny
Plot twist. Randy was playing a character all this because it was April 1st. In reality, he still is what other people have said over the years.
Randy had no command when he entered the league, 190 sounds bout right.
Cut his hair?
He's not this nice off camera, he's literally a Big Unit towards everyone.
He sounds like Jesse Ventura lol
Gee, Randy sounds Really Cool ! Too bad him and New York didn't make a good fit.
RJ might be funnier than Barkley.
He was drunk as fuck.. but its kewl
😂
We tortured this guy in the bronx before and after games. Tortured lol
Thank goodness, there was a chain-link fence between us and him and his bus lol
And I Know he remembers lol
Flol
Randy didn't even feel sorry for plunking that bird.

Man Charles Barkley is really a jerk he can't let my man Dan Patrick in the crew I always stuck up for Charles but turn it down mr. Patrick no
