  • Is there such thing as the best brushes for digital painting? Short answer: I don't think so lol. However, a lot of people have been asking what brushes I use for painting so here you go. For this Krita tutorial, I used the radian brush pack. I can't say enough great things about this. Its 100% free. Here's the link: radian-art.tum...

Sorry for the lack in uploads recently. School has just been VERY hectic. Anyways, here's another tutorial for y'all (Apologies for the clickbait-yness of it all lol). Hope you learned something!

This is what I've been telling younger artists for years. Everyone always gets so hung up on brushes that they seem to actually think the brush makes the artist. This just isn't true, and I can always tell how inexperienced an artist is by that simple question. A great artist can paint a masterpiece with nothing more than the simple round brush. Awesome video as always!

I think beginners always ask what brushes artists use because they don't know what to ask in the first place since they're just starting and still not getting the hang of it eventually they'll learn it's more than that

no, they think that a brush will make them better artists, but it won't

Hope you finally get some time to do dark skin paintings (and maybe some more insight on line art ), I started using Krita a few weeks ago and I love how you explain stuff. Am looking forward to learning more.

I actually have tutorial where I painted a dark skinned person and I'm definitely planning on doing more in the future. I can't really give much info on lineart cause I don't use it much on my style lol. Sometimes I even completely paint over it. Thanks for the feedback tho!

Thank you so much raven! been experimenting on krita for a few months now since photoshop is too heavy to use in my PC and I really like working with it. I'm just not so familiar with the brushes. This guide helps a lot as we don't see a lot of tutorials using krita around.

You can use E and make it switch the size - just mark it in Brush Editor on the bottom (then it will remember the size you used for eraser and for non-eraser separately). I don't know why it's not on by default...

I like the tips and tricks on Krita you have scattered around in your videos, but it would be nice to actually have some tutorials. I agree with another comment here that said "I like how you explain stuff". I'm a beginner at digital art and find these programs really confusing, so I just end up drawing in Krita just as I would on a piece of paper which defeats the purpose of drawing digitally in the first place. There aren't a lot of easy-to-follow tutorials for Krita out there (a lot of them assume that you already know the basics, and have used some other program before.. like saying for example "you can just use the clipping group for this and set the layer to multiply", and I'm like... what are these words.. what do they mean..? what am I multiplying?..).
I'm not saying this just because I need good tutorials for Krita :D I really think offering good advice and how-to videos about Krita and drawing in general will have more people finding your channel because I'm not the only one who needs this

I'm curious if you are using a regular tablet, I'm guessing yes? I'd also like thank you for a previous video, your use of the liquify tool helped me figure out some issues with my painting's facial structure or lack of eye shape symmetry (it's my first foray into digital art after 10 years of not touching a pencil.) Re-learning the basics is fun but your videos are very informative and it's always nice to see a master at work.
