Not many people would even be bothered to try to get a 44 year old, locked-up severely clapped-out Race Bike running again, so kudos to you for that. And now that it runs (at all) increases it's value quite a bit, even in it's present condition. That said, you MIGHT wanna clean up those Reeds a little bit, unless you did do that and just didn't include it in your video...man these old Dirtbikes bring back a lot of good memories for me...

A couple things to save you. If you stand on the pegs and kick it over it will be much easier than using your right leg on one side. I didn't see you put a base gasket on the cylinder and that will also affect how well it runs. Great job on the bike! Love that style of RM!

Your honing is all wrong u don’t use a ball hone on a 2 stroke and also u want slow rotation and fast up and down movements, and since it’s on the floor you never got all the way to the top

Oh . Thats what you call running? Sounded more like 10 different machine guns firing at once.

Brake cleaner directly in the crank case? I would have filled it with oil and drained it a few times.

Sounds like you may have some bad crank seals on this one Joe

this got to be the only channel doing this stuff, i can’t seem to find anything else but people going for perfection. freeing it up and cleaning it, firing it and doing free work on these old bikes relaxes my mind!!💫

What you do is use a small bungee cord and hook it to the crank on one end and the frame right above the rod on the other end so when your spinning the crank your not slamming the rod around and banging up the cases of course if your not trying to record you just hold it with your hand

I've always used a brass hand brush on all my engine gasket surfaces. The brass is soft enough not to make any gouges but its heafty enough to take off old silicone and gaskets

I rebuilt a 78 ds100 back in the mid 80’s and parts were hard to find back then. I wish you the best. Those old machines can be a lot of fun. Nice job getting her to breathe fire.

I love it when you bring one of the old ones back. I see so many of them being junked, it would be really great to have more puts like you, doing what you do.
