Thx for the great video
@@jmendo2546 the guy started it when I was there looking at it.
I got a street bike for sell
you can do it Joe i know it!
@@2vintage I seen that you said that Joe, but how many have you gotten with nests in air box. Sorry for being your "Dad" but it saves you headache and $ in the end :) I know your doing it for content
this is always so cool to see old dirtbikes come back to life
yea it is
When he said ouch a mouse bit me I jumped 😂😭
Haha
🤣
Wait a minute, you DID say you heard that thing RUN? That's a miracle in itself considering all that fluid in the crankcase...
Just another clown giving clowns a bad reputation.
We had an old honda atc sitting at our cabin outside under a tarp, every time we fired that thing up after the seasons, always check the airbox, acorns galore, chipmunk heaven. Dad taught us well.
wow , another score , soon you will have enough vintage bikes to start your own museum .
Yeah and call it “the museum of broken bikes that rarely get finished” really wish he would finish some of the other projects he’s started
Woulda been even better if the guy didn’t start it with everything in the air filter tho.
@@Schyler__Parker i can relate to this guy 100% , you get stuck on a project or you wait to get another parts bike to keep the budget under control .taking a break from a rebuild project is sometimes beneficial as well
He sells them a mans gotta make a living
I found an old twin bag wood shop dust collector, without bags, for cheap money. I blocked off where the bottom bag goes with plywood, and the same for the top except for a hole for the 4"/ 6" hose adapter for the exhaust hose. I use drainage flex hose for the intake and the vent. Put the intake hose(made a stand to hold it) behind the exhaust pipe and the output vent pipe out a window or under the garage door. Mine is vented out the wall. I also use it for small/medium welding jobs with a hood that lowers from the ceiling. WORKS GREAT!!! Saves your lungs!!! Saves your heat in the winter as well!!
Wish we had little gems like this around the U.K. all the old classics are either in bits or stolen and burnt out 😞😞
I second that mate
The odd time I see a few go up for sale here in Ireland but for a bike like the one in the video here, guys would probably be looking crazy money for them.
@@Mr.M1STER yeah your right there seen some scruffy scrap heaps going for mega money it’s ridiculous when I was a kid 2 stroke crossers could be picked up from as little as 200 quid now you can add a few zeros for the same condition bike
They seem to be scattered all around America there’s another guy that I watch on here and he has a museum and basically sends a trailer out and picks up all the old classics for sale no matter the conditions
@@deancurtis995 what's the channel called?
This is literally the bike I learned to ride on
Sick
Same bro
lilleraly
Me too, 1982
OH man what a find. I had a 1979 KD125. Always a special place in my heart for the KD's. My first dirt bike I got for $50.
I had a 1982 kdx 175. Thing was a beast for 39 years old.
Wow that dude should have never started thay bike lol lesson learned!!! Thanks for the content brother love it!
Hell ya man I am I school and in my study hall you post so I look forward to it lol
It was so full of a mouse nest all the way into the crank LOL Oh and gasoline too. Never seen one so full of mouse nest and gasoline before. Ha ha. The cylinder was nice thats great! Looks like the guy put an old slide on it from a really old bike and throttle cable and grip all in one piece I bet the whole shabang from some kind of old bike. It would be nice if you could get that all new and the head light and tail light. I love those old bikes like that no water pump to go bad and give you fits trying to figure out how to jb weld it or buy a 200 dollar one. I am from 60s so that bike like this from my high school days, love them.
Flush the hell outta that bottom end, my Dad would use diesel, fill it, turn it and let it sit a few times overnight. Drain the diesel and filter and reuse. Prob find a mud slick!
I was always a fan of 175cc dirt/enduro bikes this looks like a sweet little bike with some great potential.
Got an 88 KDX 200 out back. They are screamers. Great find bud!!!
I recently bought a TTR 230 and there were dog kibbles, corn, and a ton of animal hair in the airbox and on the filter. There was so much that it spewed out onto the floor when I opened it up. Figures that I forget to check the air filter when I was there buying it.
Mice will find anything food wise to keep in their nest to survive through the winter. You'll also usually find either parts of the foam from the seat or other cloth material to use to warm themselves.
Nice work Joe, saving another classic bike to live on instead of being forgotten and left to die.
She’s gonna be loud!
“it looks like the float is holding gas, so that’s working” 🤣 28:04
Lol I was thinking same thing
I thought he meant the float had a hole in it and was holding gas 😂
If the floats holding gas not good, needle and seat holding, is a good thing lol
I had one of these... bought it in 1992. 80 or 81. It was a kool talking point that it was a 175... If I remember of all my kawi's... this one needed a lot of maintenance. Always kicked over.. but needed TLC. I like how your vlogs detail your work. Looks like grass in the cylinder
dirtbikes are timeless
Hey bro I commented alr but just a tip to take of the pipe springs u can use shoe laces. Put on end through the spring and loop it back to u and wrap it around ur hands and pull it’s easy and cheap
Hey you need to put a fan in a window to draw out the exhaust love the videos
I'm not first but I'm not last when I see 2vintage I click fast !
I've purchased several barn finds... I always check the air box before attempting to start the motor.. Found many mouse condominiums
I had the exact same bike 1980. i got it used in 1982. I rebuilt the engine and changed the carb and fenders. That thing was awesome.
When these bikes came out they were great priced great value and a very reliable two stroke easy to work on a great trail bike and enduro bike this is when a two stroke was a two stroke i had no complaints with this bike
been looking forward to a nerw vid as always will be epic :) much love from the uk :)
Nice find
Having had 80s kawasakis growing up they were always well designed and easy to work on. My kx80 d2 was an especially good bike and one of my favourites as a young boy. It was fast and extremely reliable.
Thanks for sharing this KDX 175 with us. It looks like a nice bike. I see that you're like me in that you too have buckets full of oil and coolant in your garage. We must be a true gearhead lol - Ted
You keep finding these Kawasaki's ... I want to build one next! Great video!
Good find joe look forward to seeing you riding it once complete 👍🔧🔧🔧👌
lovin all the new kawis on the channel brother first dual purpose was a 74 kawi f7 175cc 2 stroke had the rotary valve carb
good of the guy to start it for you😀
Parts were hard to find in the 90's let alone now, but having online places helps. I have had the KDX400 & 200's but never the 175 or 250, Also had a few 79-80 KLX250's. I still have a 79 Honda XR250 that has all the trick parts you could get back in the day, Wisco 80 over piston, White Bro's Cam & R&D Valve springs, Barrnet Clutch, Cal Fab Alum Swing arm (Super Rare) Better Shocks & air asst front forks & prog springs. I am now in my 50's and my body can't handle offroad riding anymore so I am moving all my XR parts onto a 80 XL250s Frame that I have a clean title for the street. I have owned my 250 since I was 16 and I had a repair shop so I saved every junk, broken 78 to 82 XL/XR 250 & 500' I came across and have enough new & used parts to keep this bike going forever.
Had the same bike when I was a teen, loved that bike.
I have a 1984 kdx 200 and still ride it, and love it! That baby rips! Awesome video as usual my friend, and Go Pack Go
Every one of your videos that says will it run? I say to myself fuck no it wont run but I'll watch anyways lol
when i bought my 1984 cr 80 there was a bird in the air box he was looking pretty healthy
Hahaha
Great new bike and video😎👍
Great work on bring the bike back to life😁
Nice i really like kdx series. Miss my kdx200
Got its twin in back of shop it's the 88' 200. Storage unit win for my oldest boy. Needs massive motor work but it'll be a cool project it did run after he got it. Good find Brother.
Love the vids as always! #notificationsquad
I've got the 1980 model . It's not been ran in 4 yrs. I have kids now and don't have really any time for my katana or my cr 125. I'm DYING HERE!!
I had a 83 kdx 250. That thing was a monster
I had one of these back in 1981 had a lot of fun on it!
I had one of these! Only got to ride it once cool machine.
I had the last year they made one 06 KDX220 was a great bike when I grew up the IT 175 and MX175 was everywhere big boys had TT500 or DR500-600 lol
Two stroke goes in thu the carb into the crank case thru the main bearings then thru transfer ports to the piston
You need to get a T handle exhaust spring tool, they are fairly cheap and worth every penny. much better than using channel locks or screwdriver to remove exhaust springs.
That will end up being a good bike after you fix it up. Wheelie machine
Non dented header pipe is usually a go for me on these old bikes! Almost everything else can be cleaned up! Then you ring it out again to clear it out :) like we did with the 84 YZ125
Wow! Nice find!
Low production number too!👍
Love them old school bikes awesome vid man
i had a road legal one of these in the early 80's - monster of a bike
HI JOE,IN MY 85 YEARS IVE HAD 4 EXCEPTIONAL DIRT BIKES,FIRST WAS A 250 GREEVES IN THE 60S THEN A YZ465 YAMAHA IN THE SEVENTYS,THEN A HUSQVARNA 510 4 STROKE IN THE 80S AND 90S AND A KMX 125 IN THE 2000S..IF I HAD TO PICK ONE TO RIDE TODAY IT WOULD BE THE GREEVES..IT WAS REALLY A FUN BIKE..MERRY XMAS TO YOU AND YOURS..GREETINGS FROM THE PHILIPPINES
been trying to find a kdx 175 for years. had one loved that bike and want another
I replaced rings in the veld with my one in the day. Brilliant bikes !
I had a KDX200 like that, good bike.
Good find!
Them enduro handle bars are crazy, but longer bars feel nice
There was definitely a living mouse in there that he sucked up
Couldn’t agree more but it’s hard to find parts for older bikes 🏍 😆 honestly
Norfiction squad
Yeah
Yes
Cool bike mate. A had a kdx 250. And a kmx 125. Pritty cool bikes.
This is a sweet find . I remember this was a great enduro bike . Jet that animal to the moon and throw a nice high flow filter . That should open up well. Maybe a second gear wheelie if you really smack on that throttle. Awesome doggy!!!!!
Original grop, wow. I got set out in my shop for the 200.
My fav YTer keep up the grind u get too many haters but still goin yessir she minty
It seems that you sir, sure do love your kawasakis
I knew he had this bike because I kept on seeing that in the background of your videos and on your Instagram.
Great deal you got there! $600 for a bike the previous owner bought at a yard sale for $50!
Like a damn animal farm living in that bike. All this video needed was scary music. I was crackin up watching this. Great share brother.
Awesome video man
Just so you know, copper gaskets can be re-used in a pinch if you heat it red hot with a torch and let it cool
Dude, that piston is anything but fine.It is not fine at all crazy as hell
You have a real classic there! I have two 82 kdx80s. Great job as always
Those are rare,I had one years ago with a metal tank and twin shocks,it was unused mint. I just picked up a pretty rough 79 kx 80 for 150$. Runs good but rims are rusty.
@@quickturn66 ya I have a 1980 and 82 kx80. The 1980 has a aluminum tank.
Any one else wishing he'd open the garage door ...?
Yes yes vintage
Looks good!
School kids dream bike !🤘🇬🇧
Come on man first start got to rev it to the moon baby!!!!!! Lol
Sick dude. I just bought an 81 today!
Very nice, The screenshot gives Memories...My Father had a brand new '82 we picked off the showroom floor, Super back in the day, wish i still had it, it was eventually sold. // Yours - Really sucks the lights & all were removed etc & somehow lost by the owners ( didnt keep it in a box )
Yet another classic, these and IT’s ruled back when I raced. Although at that time if you weren’t on a Husky you didn’t win.
Little trick I learned for exhaust springs get yourself a hay bail hook, it works great for exhaust and other large springs
Love the video keep it up
Keep it up loving the content. You’ve come along way
I have an older f11 kawi that took some work but its lives now and i ride it at least once a week. Mine is the kl250 1975 lil older than this one. It will be fun watching this one come around.
Bro open that garage door for the exhaust fumes. Lol
Thanks for video ,i just picked up a 1972 kawasaki 175 and need to unseize engine first ,been parked for about 17 years ,maybe rebuild ...
Great video joe
I’m addicting to this channel!!!
Always turn the fuel off when done driving kids
And especially when transporting it!
May need to check crankcase to.
I wish I could fine stuff like this. I’m moving down to Florida so hopefully old vintage bikes that aren’t too clapped are around
The mouse nest was the air filter
Good score. Man over in the area where you are you find all the deals I am in Memphis Tennessee and I can't find nothing I have to travel for hours and hours to pick up stuff sometimes.
