Exactly what i was going to say. Quick, simple, exactly what i was looking for without going into 20 mins of tutorial where 90% of the explainations are useless.
Thank you so much for this! My teacher just gave a super fast explanation so all I had was notes that I randomly wrote down... did my UVs in maya before sculpting, but apparently I left one part out. Was at a loss on how to do UVs in zbrush, but you gave me perfect understanding in just 2 minutes. Even better than learning in class... :D

Uv Master will create another Subtool, just go back to original Subtool where you have your peoject!

I'm using it right now to unwrap some pieces of a tavern. It's soooo smooth. Way easier then Maya!

Thanks for this great tutorial. What happens for the painting on the subtotal? Should I do this process before painting? I'm asking because I wanted to unwrap the UV and then make texture out of painting and finally export as FBX
As long as you don't change the polycount of the model, dosen't matter when you add polypaint on your mesh. Also depending on how much you change the mesh, most recommended is to make UV after you done with modeling!

Zbrush crashes every time I hit unwrap. Not sure if you've ever had this?
Try to export your mesh on a software like 3ds max, apply xform, them import in a new Zbrush and try if still crash!

Must be nice. Any time I do this it just erases the protect or attract areas.
Try to export your object as obj and import it back on a new Zbrush and try it again!

Thanks for the tutorial. One question, when I hit "work on clone", it doesn't actually lower the poly count of the mesh like it did in your example
Fixed my problem with duplicating subtool, Zremeshing it and projecting it to the original. Thank you for the video again
Did you had Divides on the original mesh? If you had, you should try Reconstruct Subsv or what you did that worked!
I hope someone can answer,
When I try this method the Control painting ONLY ON THE FACE ignores the Protect and puts the seams on the front of the face. The Attract feature will not work
But on every other part of the body, arms, legs, pelvis, torso etc it works. I've been at it for 3 days and I have no idea what's going on.
Can anyone help?

It happen to me once and far as I find is was because bad retopology.

hi , firs of all , thx for the video , but is it possible to NOt work on a clone and work in a manual retopo ? I do not feel confortable with the loops of the clone. If the seams of the clone are not 100% the same as the LP character , I should use an extra editor to fix areas to match uv? and if I want to bake normals in external program as Xnormal for example that seams are not so clever, clone has their own seams , but not the same as the final retopo piece of the character?.
+Rheifuss Stripxssons Hi, if you have low topology you don't need to go in clone mode for UVnwrap in Zbrush. But for better UV, I think the best way to control it,is to make them manually in other software like 3ds max, Maya etc.

I work in clone because usually I have lot of polys on actuall mesh!
how do you transfer the uvs from the clone to the original? please reply.
You have Copy and Paste on Uv master! Copy from Clone and then select Original on your Subtool and press Paste!

Just a cuestion, i did it but i got a problem, if I try to paste de Map UV Zbrush show me a problem mesage "You can´t get a optimal UV map whit the curren map UV size".

Hi, you need to go on the Tool panel and look up for UV Map and you can increase your uv up to 8192 x 8192.
Its do not work, i dont know if i have to encrease the UV from clon before paste to the model. I have tryed diferent ways changing UV map but its doesnt work there, i think i have to do it in UV master, it is that posible???
