Hello my name is Lonnie and My wife is Connie.
Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Come along and sit with me by the campfire as I delve into these subjects in a way that you can easily learn to then do yourself.
I will show you how to make shelters, gather food, use wild medicines as well as start fires with or without matches, lighters, ferro rods, etc
Connie is one mighty fine wife and must be in extremely good shape to run a long beside the snowmobile to do the filming. While you get to ride. LOL. Thank both of y'all for sharing.
Tooter Plumber Too funny ...that’s exactly what I was thinking...LOL 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Well I was thinking, this guy is pretty lucky to have a wife like this.
Tooter Plumber I fully agree with you👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
About a year and a half ago, one of my truck tires was making a funny scraping/clicking noise. Couldn't figure out what it was so in a parking lot on JBER I made my 16 year old daughter run alongside, by each tire! I drove faster and faster until she couldn't keep up, then did it all over again! Lol! We never could figure out which tire it was, and in time it just went away!
Very interesting and informative trip. Thank you both for sharing.
I love your videos, they are so relaxing and really capture what it means to spend time in the outdoors
So happy to find this! I have been out of the loop the last couple m on months. So wonderful to see the both of you enjoying time in the tipi! As always we love to see Connie cooking! I have been departing on wether to carry steel pans or cast iron on my trips... seeing you use steel is good enough endorsement for me! All love and blessings to you both!
👍🏻 From Scotland
I have just had dinner, then I see your hash in the pan. My mouth just waters and my tummy grumbles :)
Looked like a good spot to get things back into their proper perspective. May God bless you and yours more.
Love seeing Connie and Lonnie together on these outings. Must've been a challenge keeping those batteries warm enough to videotape. Thanks for taking taking us along on this beautiful trip to the wilderness.
Connie or I kept the camcorder warm in our coats to help prolong battery life.
A warm tent, a partner with whom to share the view of the mountains in peace and quiet: it could not get much better than that; until it did when Connie rolled out moose steaks with gravy! 🇨🇦
That was a largest wool sock I've ever seen😂
It goes all the way up girl!
Nice Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Panilliaan Immaterial Prevalence (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good one off guide for protecting your family from danger without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my work colleague got great results with it.
Someone sees Lonnie driving a snowmobile and runs back to town
I got pictures of Bigfoot driving a snowmobile I swear!!! I need this film develop asap!! it was a Bigfoot I'm telling ya!! A Bigfoot driving a snowmobile!!! LOL
You'd think if were kind enough they'd bring back with more than 1\4 tank and far less hair balls in the primary drive! D:
Get your film developed? Haha, are there still film developing stores around!?
Bigfoot doesn't believe Lonnie exists

I like the hot water bottle idea. I never thought of doing that. You have to heat them anyway if you melt snow for water, might as well heat it more and use it. I'm guessing by morning it's cool enough to drink anyway. I like those folding chairs like that for hunting coyotes. You can sit on wet or snowy ground in comfort. Great on a canoe seat too!
Moose Steaks and Bannock Bread......how could you go wrong with that??!!!!!
Did you make the snow mobile sled? If so, what is it made out of? Great video folks! Happy to see you are back!
I too use these seats in my canoes as well. Yes I made the sled. it is made from 1/4 inch thick UHMW or Ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene. It might be 3/16ths thick I'm not sure now. The tongue is made from 1/2 inch thick UHMW. It has been an extremely rugged sled that has lasted me over a decade and still going strong. It is fashioned after the "Siglin sled" from "Northern Sled Works"
I just got done eating supper and now you're making me hungry again!
I remember the stove and tent build the moose hunt too .
In cold snowy weather short a sweet trips are more to my liking these days .
Love watching you two camping together.
Love the "Cooking with Connie" part. The snow parts... not so much. I dislike cold weather, so my hats off to ya'll.
You dislike cold weather?, may be the wrong channel for you then.
@@braxxian yes, I dislike cold weather. This channel is more than cold weather is why I watch and enjoy the channel.
@@OutdoorsWithShawn Have you tried cold weather camping with warm equipment? Its MUCH more fun with the proper gear.
@@MrJonrocker I live in the deep deep south. We don't get too much "cold" weather. Coldest I've camped out in was 21° I was prepared, it wasn't horrible but not something I'd like to do on a regular basis. Maybe if we had it regularly, I'd get used to it and enjoy it more
@@OutdoorsWithShawn Yeah, I can completely understand! I love camping in the cold. I'm taking the family out this Friday for a "cool" weather camp out. Itll be probably low 20's, but fun. We should have snow in a couple weeks. Already have some coming down the mountains.
Stay safe down there with the snakes! I dont miss that at all.
As always great video. Such lovely views. And boy moose steak ome of my favorites. Love you videos be safe out on them trails.
I'm digging those crispy hash browns Lonnie! Also, what an awesome idea on the raw eggs!
Awesome video, Lonnie! Pass a plate of that moose steak and mushroom gravy, would ya please?!! lol
Hey Connie,Hello Lonnie, from Kentucky, thanks for sharing this with me and I do appreciate your time and knowledge thank you...It's so beautiful there.
Class A eats! Thanks for sharing you two.🐾
We had snow down here near Atlanta the other day, I counted 4 flakes and it got Dow to 22 degrees!
Y'all are Beautiful People.
Thanks Y'all!
Brrrr! Hope your keeping warm ! Don't let ya stove go out too often! Beats the old days when we'd put a inch of sand in 50 call boxes and burn diesel and shred retread when the bottom fell out of the thermometer and wood was too wet ! I don't advise it more than once a week when it's have to ! Lol good to see you guys are ok! Keep the percolator going and let's do some moose chilli ! D:
Oh man...now I'm hungry😂...I love watching Connie cook...
You can toast your flour to a light tan color in de oven and add color and flavor too. One of the ways we make a roux us!
Yes Connie is fully aware of how to make gravy from scratch in several different forms
What a great adventure! Beautiful landscape up there. Thanks for taking us along!
Great idea with the canoe seats👍
I have a wiki up with low head room.
Food looked great, great video 👍
👍👍God Bless you both , hours of real bushcraft , total education 👍👍
Love your videos! Keep them coming! Gawd, I need a Connie. My wife won't go near the woods. We went camping on our first date. I did all the work. Cooking, putting up the tent, cleaning the dishes. I taught her how to shower in the woods. She never again wanted to go camping. Something I did all my life.
Bob Allison: Poor feller, you should have married a country girl. 75 and mine still deer hunts & field dresses it. We use to have too deer hunt, South of home 100 miles in Nat'l forest before we got deer up at the farm/ranch. We camped out in Tent . Usually no snow at that time of year, but below freezing at night. That was 50 years ago.
I wish I could, but I'm disabled combat vet now . So in a way, we are in the same boat, my friend .
@@victorcastle1840
Thanks for your service. My son is a combat vet too.
Fantastic my Friends! Really great! TC Sepp
You two are crazy! I love watching you. I've never had moose and just got done eating my breakfast but that moose steak and mushroom gravy makes me hungry!
Will watch first thing in the morning 👍
fancy seeing you here too.

Great little video !
Great seeing Connie whipping up another one of her fabulous meals.
Looks like you were living high off the hog, Awesome looking hash browns I might add.
The steak & gravy didn`t look too shabby either, I`m sure that hit the spot
Thank You for sharing your video, and bringing us along. ATB
Yet again another great video. I sure wish I could drag my spouse out of house and into the backwoods. Always enjoy you two sharing experiences that I (we) only dream of. Top notch!!!

Great video Lonnie 👍. Nice & relaxing time .
I thought that was Connie on the snow machine (that's a big machine!)...until the second pass, when I saw the beard. 🤭
You can't go wrong with some moose meat. It looked delicious. I am glad to see you kids getting out and enjoying that beautiful Alaska weather. Be well, friends!
Connie is a cooking machine. I love to watch her cook. 2 thumbs up for Connie. Outstanding.................
Where you all been haven't seen you in a while miss your videos
I put a video online just a week ago in case you missed it.
Hi Lonnie : I enjoyed your video, may I make suggestion ?. next time buy a bag of *charcoal briquettes* to fill your stove, last thing before bed,. they run way longer than wood, come on Bro' give it a go. God bless you two in Jesus name amen..
Hi Phresh. Thanks for the nice video. Man, your wife sure knows how to whip up some grub. I like how ya'll bring along some reading material, I like to read a lot myself. Catch you on the next video.
🤣🤣🤣love to see that you guys are well and up making videos that I love so much thank you for sharing, great to see ya'll...
Thanks both for taking us all along; I very much enjoyed the camping, food, views and company. Cheers Wayne
Great trip guys. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful country! I remember the moose hunt video, it was great.
I like the chair idea it would be hard for me to make such a trip health wise. Food looked fantastic. 👍👍
Keep em coming. ITHINK WERE ALL GONNA NEED TO KNOW THIS WHEN SHTFan Dayz hit!!👍😁🧡
Hey Lonnie? That cooking smell might bring animals? Got your 44sp ready?
I really enjoyed watching this video! That breakfast looked delicious! I'm sure that camping in those conditions and temperatures must be difficult, but you guys make it look easy and fun.
You remind me of my grandpa before he started to develop dementia. He still loves nature though.
So nice to see two people on the same trip, and enjoying it! It sure is many «lonely wolfs» in these RUclips-bushcraft-channels - showing off all their skills to the fanclub online 😉
Lol so far I haven't been able to get my wife to winter camp but I'm working on it lol. Great job cooking Connie everything looked delicious.
👊💀👍
i'll get myself back to alaska one day
Had to stop and say...I still make my hash browns just like that! 😁♥
Bough beds. They were the 1972 Boy Scout Manual, but removed later out of environmental concerns.
@Captain ZeroF's its called pruning...
If it's your own land, no biggie. But, if you're not on land you own, you probably want to know you have permission hack away at trees. When in doubt, leave no trace. But, if you're spending 10 minutes watching this, you probably already understand that. Kind of preaching to the choir.
I was not being critical of the author. I probably does not matter when the author is, he is so remote. But if the practice continued in the Sierra Nevada of CA, there would be real harm.
I really like the author. He and his wife are the real deal, really operating in extreme condition using excellent bushcraft technique
@@ronaldmcdonald3965 Totally agree.
I believe Captain Zero was making a joke on a certain young lady who is a pawn for her dad and his environmental activism.
I enjoy all of your videos and am certainly going to continue watching them. Connie had my mouth watering cooking the food it looks delicious. We don't have moose here in Iceland and not to many trees which just makes me enjoy the video more. Thanks for posting this video.
Thanks for sharing Mr. Lonnie. Mrs Connie sure is a sweet lady. She had me drooling over that food lol. God bless.
You both are good at making time in the woods enjoyable, coffee and food looked delicious.
Another great video guys. I've never thought to fry the bannock mix before I'll give that a go! 👏
Great video! It sure made me hungry though. Those meals looked amazing. And thank you also for the stadium seat idea, that looks handy and I will try it out!
Thanks Lonnie, always good to hear from you. Blessings to you and Connie.
What an awesome over night trip and with that view. You guys make it look so easy. Thanks for taking us along!
I enjoyed the heck out of this video and it was nice to see Connie. Of course I'm starving now but what I eat won't be as nice as her breakfast or her dinner. Awesome, thanks to both of you

Great video guys. Just got a stove and stove jack for my tent I made using your instructions !!!
Looks like you had a good time and the food sure looked good. Nice tent and I really like your wood stove cook stove that seemed like it worked very well. Tks stay safe.
Loved this...thanks for taking us along!!! Enjoy!
Good morning guys ! I spent last weekend in a snow storm in my homemade hot tent ! I'm working on the edit right now ! It was my first night out in the new , bigger hot tent I just made . And we had a snowstorm to boot ! It was an awesome experience ! I use the old hot water bottle trick as well ! It works ! You should use some flex seal tape and make some guy out points for your tent . really helps get them tight. I also discovered a few wrap arounds with tape at the top , where the pole goes , helps take some slack out of the tent as well , and creates a sleeve for the top of the pole to fit into . It's pretty slick . Glad to see you two out there having fun ! Have a great day guys ! - Justin
The reason this tent had some "slack" in it was because the tent center pole base was purposely leaned off to one side to make more room for the larger stove. So the tent top was being "pushed" off to the side slightly off center. I purposely did not try to tighten the tent for that reason.
@@Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival That makes a lot of sense !
That's a beautiful couple right there. Thank you for all your sharing.
Missed you guys ! So much ! Great video look all warm and toasty!
Really enjoyed the video... Made me hungry too! Thanks
Amazing video, I have learned so much from you guys over the years.
Really great new videos, the camera angles and overall quality has gone up tremendously. The lord continues to bless with the moose you harvested long ago, and the tips and tricks are a nice useful addition. Thank you Lonnie and Connie for the quality content, it’s great to see you both.

Great video! Very good camera work. Haven't seen your cabin for awhile! That is always a fun trip.
We do plan to go to the cabin soon now that we can once again due to sufficient snow and ice depths.
