I have the T2 on the higher cost dmrII and a holosun on the pistol. No appreciable difference aside from the ruggedness factor. Shake awake seems to be more suited to an emergency use situation. On a side note, put a cheapo on the .50, and surprisingly holds zero without issue. By cheapo, I mean 40$. With 23lbs of recoil, this really blew me away. Probably don't want to drop it, but all things considered, 40$ well spent.
I have been eyeballing a Romeo5 because I figured these larger 30mm objective sights would fetch a higher price than a micro 20mm. Now that I’ve seen this video I’m really liking the look of one of these. I was kinda wanting the larger body red dot as opposed to the micro. Any recommendations? Are there any significant differences between 20mm micros and these larger 30mm ones; or is it just mostly size/weight?
Between the Romeo 5 and 7, mostly size and weight. 7 takes the more common AA battery vs a CR2032A, and the 7 has a 30mm diameter lens vs the 20mm on the Romeo. Both can be magnified
I'm def gon pick this up I got a sig Romeo ... And I love it zeroed perfectly out of the box 50-100 m so I imagine this one be very similar ..been wanting something like this for a while I am also in the market for good low profile red dot for my ak47
Just got this today, I’m hoping it will hold zero on my 12 gauge Bullpup, the Romeo5 and the MSR did not. I’m going to the range and testing tonight . I’ll update.
I've wanted a Sign Romeo 5 for a while now. But I'd have to say I'm really impressed with the Primary Arms Advanced 30mm Red Dot sight. It seems to be an aimpoint clone and rugged as could be. Just wish it had a "shake awake" like the Sig line does.
It you do looking at Sig. I would recommend you check out the Romeo 4 series over the 5. You have more redical options and to me the dot is sharper. The one with the solar panels give you 100,000 hours of battery life.
The solar panels are a gimmick. They only power the optic when the battery dies, it doesn't charge the optic. When powered by the solar panel, pretty much all red dots are too dim to use effectively, especially under stress. If you're shooting from cover in the shade, you probably won't even be able to see your dot.
I don't know if you have done a video on slings but I think that would be a good one to do. I have been looking at the McLean sling and Sly Tactical specifically TR-2. Keep making awesome videos Sir
Here is my take on things like this. Sig is a reputable company and not necessarily an off brand company. So if you are looking for a new pickup truck, and the new Ford F-150 costs 40K and the Chevy 1500 costs 30K. Does it really matter that the military has a contract that use the F-150! Or should I say the trucks the Taliban are using…
they are great big tubes... and CHEAP like borsch i got another off dvor for like 150... i regret not getting two. and now the worse new they are discontinued so get them while they are hot! also has a shake awake feature so you can leave it on for years. P.S. if it has down sides its heavy
Great video as always. Love your content and the updates on 2A news. Question. What is a good optic for a shotgun? I have a VR80 from RIA that I want to run during 3Gun competition. Not sure what optic to get for the shotgun.
Luv my romeo 7 on my franken ar15. Got it when I bought my first AR. Upgraded most of it except the romeo. I see no need for better since I am not an operator. Just an old fat & broken granpa.
Big difference is how water proof they are. The comp m4 is good to 25-50 meters while the sig is only waterproof down to 1. I guess that matters to some people, and why the aimpoint costs so much.
I have one Aimpoint and several different Sig optics. that I tend to like better because for the price you get better battery life on some models, more redical options and choices. Other the the Aimpoint's basic red dot. Sig optics are used by FBI and now military.
Have you seen the video where the guy freezes the 7 and throws it from a second story onto pavement while frozen and turns it on without any issues. Like nothing happened. That was enough proof for me that the 7 is pretty freakin tough. Like to see if aimpoint would survive that
I purchased an aim point pro and i was disappointed. It would not light up it was super dim even after trying two new batteries. When it comes to aim point I’ll keep but the more expensive version
The way I see it is the aim point is slightly better for being 3x the price and Ik I’m not gonna be able to break the sig with my use, I’d change my battery’s every year I don’t think I’d ever buy the comp m4 I’d rather have 3 Romeo 7’s for more guns then getting the comp m4
Why pay more for a 7 when the 5 exist? Just for the qd, flash kill, and flip ups? I like 5s they can be found for 100 and are the best budget optic because they are the cheapest that are actually good used to be the trs25 but the romeo 5 is light years better. I feel like once you get to 200 why not save up a bit more and get a pro or mro🤷♂️ If you want an optic on all your guns ASAP I recommend the romeo 5 and then once everything has a dot you can upgrade to higher end over time and push older red dots to other guns or sell them. I guess I am just black and white lol hella cheap or all the way I don’t see many benefits for inbetween
AA battery vs 2032. That can be a big deal, even though they both claim 50K hours of battery life. Batteries will crap out on you, those estimates are always laboratory conditions. Add Murphy factor and it will crap out when you need it. I already have need to carry AAs, one less thing to keep track of.
@@tenchraven true and valid point however I will Take the inconvenience of the battery type over the weight and price. You are going to or should stock up on any batteries you need for optics. I do think in some rare case where some shtf for years and your optic died you’d find as aa but you should already have batteries. And I think if my optics ran on common batteries I would actually run out of them more because I’d be using them for remote controls and stuff. With those 2032s I have enough for years and they are small and lightweight you can put them in anywhere. doesn’t seem like any real benefit that’s why the t2 is of the most Gucci optic and most seen vs the comp m5 or the like. I would like to see a review of the tract optics response ar rifle scope
I wish they still had the FDE version available 😢
Rattlecan my dude.
Thanks
Can we get an update on your RIA X4, we’re you able to get a extended magazine tube yet?
Cool nice man thanks I have the pro and like it but it was not cheap been saving for a T2 but dam.
I'm def gon pick this up I got a sig Romeo ... And I love it zeroed perfectly out of the box 50-100 m so I imagine this one be very similar ..been wanting something like this for a while I am also in the market for good low profile red dot for my ak47
Great info and keep up the great work on RUclips
I put my Romeo7 on my CZ scorpion and I love it.
I love sig optics, I love to FDE and am interested in trying this optic but as soon as you said optics planet exclusive I noped out
Love mine. It's my favorite optic
Do aimpoint mounts work? Like interchangeable?
Just got this today, I’m hoping it will hold zero on my 12 gauge Bullpup, the Romeo5 and the MSR did not. I’m going to the range and testing tonight .
I’ll update.
Update?
I have the Vickers tactical blue force gear sling on several builds and love it, check it out if you haven’t already. Excellent quality
Thank you for the update.. 👍
Here is my take on things like this. Sig is a reputable company and not necessarily an off brand company. So if you are looking for a new pickup truck, and the new Ford F-150 costs 40K and the Chevy 1500 costs 30K. Does it really matter that the military has a contract that use the F-150! Or should I say the trucks the Taliban are using…
Toyota is the main pickup truck in Afghanistan. USA left a bunch of new Toyota trucks there.
they are great big tubes... and CHEAP like borsch i got another off dvor for like 150... i regret not getting two. and now the worse new they are discontinued so get them while they are hot! also has a shake awake feature so you can leave it on for years. P.S. if it has down sides its heavy
HOW CAN A1/2-3/4 OF AN OUNCE SCREW UP DAY?? GROW A SET AND PUT DOWN THE CAN OF WAX!!
Great video as always. Love your content and the updates on 2A news. Question. What is a good optic for a shotgun? I have a VR80 from RIA that I want to run during 3Gun competition. Not sure what optic to get for the shotgun.
Could you do a review of the sig romeo4t? Its like an aimpoint t2 clone
Just got one for my PTR 91. Haven't shot it though.
Nice can't wait for the review
Any word on a full review and performance comparison?
Did you check to see if the Aimpoint mount would fit on the Sig?
Luv my romeo 7 on my franken ar15. Got it when I bought my first AR. Upgraded most of it except the romeo. I see no need for better since I am not an operator. Just an old fat & broken granpa.
Sweet video as always brother 😎😎
Thanks brother
Will a Juliet 3x magnifier fit with it? I wanted the 4x magnifier but it’s about as long as the romeo7
Third time re-subscriber. May want to look into how many subs you've lost from youtube and make another video on it
Big difference is how water proof they are. The comp m4 is good to 25-50 meters while the sig is only waterproof down to 1. I guess that matters to some people, and why the aimpoint costs so much.
I have a sig romeo 4c and it is the best optic ive owned
Will the Romeo work on mounts for the Aimpoint like a scalar works???🤯🔫👍🏽
I’m sold on the 6 year battery life
Well we wouldn't want to break it taking the lens cover off would we.
The Sig looks like the Holosun HS401R I have, except mine is black. Hmm...
The SIG Romeo7 no longer comes with a QD mount with the lever. It's now just a small knob.
Excellent video. Thank you.
I have one Aimpoint and several different Sig optics. that I tend to like better because for the price you get better battery life on some models, more redical options and choices. Other the the Aimpoint's basic red dot. Sig optics are used by FBI and now military.
Can you get a Cross Armory Glock trigger?
Have you seen the video where the guy freezes the 7 and throws it from a second story onto pavement while frozen and turns it on without any issues. Like nothing happened. That was enough proof for me that the 7 is pretty freakin tough. Like to see if aimpoint would survive that
It wasn’t pavement, he dropped it on a wood deck
Great info, thank you. 😎👍
We had a ton of problems with the aim point in the army
The only good optic for the m4 in the army is the acog they are actually durable
I'm so getting one from sig for my m1a standard.
WHAT KILLFLASH DID YOU USE ON THE SIG?
Clones are almost always like the originals, except for the quality, dependability and customer service.
Looks like a lawsuit in the making between giants...😉🙃😄
I purchased an aim point pro and i was disappointed. It would not light up it was super dim even after trying two new batteries. When it comes to aim point I’ll keep but the more expensive version
No spaces for the mount. So your stuck with the absolute co witness height? I want one but I need a lower third at least..
The Sig is compatible with the Aimpoint mounts
Why use this over the 5? What is the difference? I mean this is bigger but why buy a bigger one?
The way I see it is the aim point is slightly better for being 3x the price and Ik I’m not gonna be able to break the sig with my use, I’d change my battery’s every year I don’t think I’d ever buy the comp m4 I’d rather have 3 Romeo 7’s for more guns then getting the comp m4
Get u a ronin from northtac 🔥
Why pay more for a 7 when the 5 exist? Just for the qd, flash kill, and flip ups? I like 5s they can be found for 100 and are the best budget optic because they are the cheapest that are actually good used to be the trs25 but the romeo 5 is light years better. I feel like once you get to 200 why not save up a bit more and get a pro or mro🤷♂️
If you want an optic on all your guns ASAP I recommend the romeo 5 and then once everything has a dot you can upgrade to higher end over time and push older red dots to
other guns or sell them. I guess I am just black and white lol hella cheap or all the way I don’t see many benefits for inbetween
Agree on most points. I guess the main reason for the 7 is the size, its 10mm bigger, which some may like. It’s a full size rds
AA battery vs 2032. That can be a big deal, even though they both claim 50K hours of battery life. Batteries will crap out on you, those estimates are always laboratory conditions. Add Murphy factor and it will crap out when you need it. I already have need to carry AAs, one less thing to keep track of.
@@tenchraven true and valid point however I will
Take the inconvenience of the battery type over the weight and price. The weight savings is worth more than the battery difference.if it was more durable though that would interest me someone should do a destruction test romeo 5 vs Romeo 7 vs t2 vs comp5
Yea I kinda agree. I’m not sold the bigger read dot provides any advantage tbh. Light is good
@@noHandle1776 me either especially if your shooting both eyes open like we all should be
Do comp m4 mounts work with the Romeo 7?
GREAT JOB!
Do you have the promo code for the sig I wanna buy
