as long as you are conditioning enough and it’s not drying out your scalp there’s really no problem with washing your hair every day. - a licensed hairdresser
You can't train your scalp to produce less sebum and oils. It will always produce the same amount due to genetics! So you found washing your hair daily went well with your oil production rate and it's honestly way better than caking on fry shampoo. My hair like 2-3 days
Thank you! I get so much anxiety that Im going to damage my hair by washing it daily but it really depends on the person. I have very fine straight hair with an oily scalp due to my genetics. I also live in a hot climate so I produce even more oils. Plus there’s heavy pollution where I live. Ive come to accept that washing it daily is best for my hair.
As i read this advice from a different channel, they said that everybody hair and scalp react differently. So if you feel itchy on your scalp after 1 day, just wash it.Dont have to listen to anyone. There was a time i tried to train my hair by skipping washing my hair ended up with so much build up on my scalp and so itchy.
It’s person per person. If I wash my hair everyday I would permanently have wet hair. I wash my hair once a week and it NEVER gets oily ever. But that’s just me!! My hair texture works with that but some people have thin hair that’s prone to oil.

I remember hearing “oh you have curly hair you can’t wash your hair every day” like back when I was washing it every few days my scalp was literally so caked with dirt, oil, and dandruff that I was loosing hair. I was actually loosing hair.
if u want to wash ur hair everyday its the shampoo, don't put shampoo on ur hair everyday trust me ur natural oils in ur hair will become dry and ur hair will be living in a disaster, instead of washing with shampoo rinse ur hair with water only to wash off dirt/hair sweat (since we r in summer yk?) and then u use ur conditioner as a replace for ur shampoo just scrub ur conditioner in ur scalp and u can put on ur ends too! and message for atleast 10 mins leave for another 10 mins and then rinse really well and scrunch ur hair softly from the water that its still in ur hair hope this helps ❤ edit: btw only 1-2 days in a week using shampoo and the rest of ur haircare routine
I have curly hair and I was told not to wash it everyday. I skip some days, but I wash it almost everyday or it gets tangled and dry. Do what's best for your hair!
YES AMEN SISTER!! i started washing my hair every day after figuring out that waiting to wash it just made it oilier and not "smoother" or "healthier" like it was supposed to. I have never had softer smoother hair.
Thank you for finally saying something supporting washing every day! My hair just gets disgusting even if I've tried training if I don't wash it everyday and my stylist said I have some of the healthiest hair she's ever seen.
I’m Brazilian. My hair is extremely thick and long and it grows very fast. In addition, it is very oily. I usually take one to two showers a day depending on what I’m doing during the day and if I sweat too much. I’ve never had a problem; my hair is lush and shiny. However, if I skip, my hair just gets so gross and oily and limp; it’s nasty.
I have thick, dry hair and washing it every day absolutely kills my hair off lmao. Washing it less often but using leave in conditioner and oils on the lengths is all you need for it to look like this lmao
I wash my hair everyday. I have severe hair loss and it gets better if I wash my hair everyday. people get mad at me and saying my hairloss is due to washing daily. but not darling, I once wash every 2 days and it was nightmare when the wash day came. it’s only gets better when I wash my hair daily.
Some people can't wash daily it depends on ur hair and the shampoo u use. Shampoo with clarifying properties dry hair so thoes MAYBE once a week and that's if u use product regularly, for an everyday shampoo ull want a sulfate free shampoo 😊
Same, idk how I washed my hair everyday when I was younger. Took more effort and time, but didn't look or feel as good back then. Ig ppl like this wash it and style it everyday for it to look good, couldn't be me lol.

I have very fine hair, my scalp sweats like a mf and it's currently like 35°C in the morning and my hair gets almost fully wet with swear by the time I get to work and my scalp gets itchy by the end of the day. We. Are. Not. All. The. Same.
Everyone’s hair is different, some is better to shower every other day and some it either doesn’t matter or it actually helps their hair. People shouldn’t judge because a girl decides to wash her hair more often
Thank you for saying this, everyone keeps on telling me that I have to stop washing my hair everyday but just because it works for some people it doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. If I don’t wash my hair for at least two days it starts feeling dry and ashy. Moral of the story, don’t listen to others if you don’t need their advice ❤️
I’m an everyday hair washer! Unfortunately I’m a greasy-haired girl and not washing it for 3 days to “train” it does not do anything but give me scalp zits. Now my hair is long and thicker and doesn’t smell like raw, wet almonds!! Depends on the hair type for sure, some people don’t need to wash it everyday and it looks amazing. For me personally, not an option 😂
I work in an extremely disgusting warehouse, so I HAVE to wash my hair every day. I also just have very oily hair naturally. I can't keep color in it worth a shit but I still color it anyways. 😆
Same sis! And dry shampoo will only cause irritation on top of oil and sweat 😓. So everyday shampooing it is. It would be sooo much more convenient if I could get away with not washing this frequently but having a super oily scalp doesn't allow 😐
Girl yes haha I wash my hair everyday and I feel gross if I don’t. I have wavy/curly hair (some ringlets) and it looks and feels so nice when I wash it. Horrible when I don’t.
Y'all stop hatting on people,if she needs to,and is ok for her hair, what's the problem??It totally depends on your hair,so stop judging,I also wash my hair everyday because of my scalp and because it gets very greasy, and it's totally fine
It depends on your hair type, i have thin hair that gets greasy by the end of the first 24 hours. I tried training my hair by slowly increasing the amount of time between washes, all the way up to a week between. I tried this for a year and all it did was make my hair extremely greasy and dandruffy with no improvements to thickness or shine. I since have gone back to washing it every day and have no dandruff and my hair texture is so nice again.
I cant wash my hair everyday, its all natural black curls so they will get extremely damaged if i do. Also start falling out. So i guess it depends on your hair type 😕
Actually it’s on the type of hair also my internet is being rude so idk if someone said this yet but yea it depends I can’t because I have like really thick hair and it damages my hair and makes it fall out and I had curls now they gone as h*ell-
It’s the same for me, but I don’t wash it everyday since I get oily hair pretty quick but when I wouldn’t wash it for many days trying to train it, it never worked so that’s why I just wash my hair every 2-3 days since it’s best for mine.
My "friends" bullied me for washing me hair every day, so I started washing ever 2 days like they said and my hair got worse- I shower every day and my hair had never been healthier
People seem to forget all hair textures are not the same . My hair does not need to be washed everyday , so comparisons are a waste of time . Everyone just needs to do what works for them .
As a hairstylist its totally up to you and your scalp! Trial and error, sometimes it takes time figuring out what works best for your hair, and if you find its healthiest and most beautiful when washing every day then that's what works for you
I washed my hair daily since I was a teen... a year ago my hair was so ruined and dry I had to stop. It's been such a hard process stopping- and I miss it so much. I really recommend using a sulphate free shampoo & conditioner and an oil.. as you get older the hair changes more than I can explain 💜
Yes!! My hair actually hurts when I don't wash it bc the oils and acid mix and create yeast that actually hurts my scalp to the touch. My daughter gets it too so we have to wash every other day.
I honestly use to get a lot of shit from other women regarding daily washing. It's extremely weird but does happen. There really is something about it that just triggers people
Glad someone else feels this way. I wash my hair daily because I just cannot stand it after 1 or 2 days. Also I live in SW Arizona and it gets crazy hot like 115° to 118° and you sweat just walking to your car. Also my allergy/asthma doc recommended washing before going to bed to minimize reactions. My hair is shiny and air dries well with only a spray leave in condioner and some coconut oil spray.
No matter your hair type if you wash your hair everyday it will thin over time, you strip it of it's natural oils and proteins making it brittle and easier to damage.
as an oily girl i concur! i added a wash day to my week and my scalp and hair screamed for joy. then i added another. and another as needed. my scalp feels healthy again, i have great hair days every day now (no more covering up greasy hair in a tight pony or bun!), and my hair has stopped thinning and is becoming longer and thicker again. wash as needed for YOUR hair type, your climate, your lifestyle. if your scalp is itching its screaming for tlc- stop the dry shampoo and wash!
Everyone has different hair type you all know what is best for your hair. There is no such thing as “training” your hair to be better. It does not exist, trust me after I trued it did not work for me and it still does not. I can’t go without one day without washing my hair, my mom and sister have different hair and they do whats best for their hair too. Again to each their own ❤️
Agree. I have dandruff and I am very sweating person so I have to wash my hair everyday or else the dandruff will get worse. Despite washing hair everyday, my hair still healthy compared to when I try to 'train' them.
I'm glad I'm not the only one, I used to wash my hair every 3-5 days because I ALWAYS heard washing it too much is bad for it, but I ALWAYS had bad dandruff on my scalp but oily ends. I ended up trying every dandruff shampoo but nothing worked. I started washing it every day or every other day and bam my dandruff is 99% cured and my hair looks and feels healthier. Whew 😅
Depends on climate as well...sometimes during winter or humid climate it will be the reason for ur allergies..keeping the scalp wet lead to fungus growth as well.

Well ladies and gentlemen… it clearly just depends on your hair 🤷🏾♀️ who knew
Exactly,y’all see someone with a whole different hair typ do or say something and assume it’s going work for you🤦🏾♀️.

@nxyla actually, they have
@nxyla wdym people chat crap about you when you say you wash your hair everyday or even maybe once or twice a week, there’s always backlash
I shampoo my hair once a week, and cowash 2-3x a week. I LOVE washing my hair! I am Black with 3c/4a hair (mostly 4a) and washing frequently keeps my hair soft, moisturized, and I retain so much length. Also tangles and breakage are virtually non-existent for my hair.
Damn… guess styling your hair really does make all the difference

Thankyou so much andreaaa. I also starting washing my hair everyday so that i can focus more on my studies and feel less dizzy. And this turned out to help me get beautiful and mositurising waves
Everyone hair is different. I’m glad you found out what was good for your hair
I so agree with this. My hair is literally the straightest hair and I have oily scalp so I wash my hair 6-8 times a week
I have alot of very thin, fine straight hair so I get greasy looking so quick. I've tried every oily scalp treatment I can afford and I've realized my hair is perfectly fine looking being washed every day. I treat it so it doesnt dry out,I get monthly trim. All based on your hair type
Hey so how do you wash your hair everyday? Do u use shampoo everday?
omg! i told my friends a while ago that i’ve washed my hair everyday since i was little and they kept telling me it was really bad for my hair so i stopped washing it everyday, after that you could really see the change in colour and it got really dry so i started washing it everyday again and its fine now. a lot of people still try and tell me what to do with my hair when they have straight hair and it really annoys the heck out of me. don’t listen to what other people say, do.what works for you ❤️❤️
Same here. In high school I washed my hair daily and I had long shiny curly hair with no split ends.
as long as you are conditioning enough and it’s not drying out your scalp there’s really no problem with washing your hair every day. - a licensed hairdresser
Facts for me as well. I tried not wash it but then I was dealing with dandruff. It’s was embarrassing so I started washing it everyday and am good 😊 ❤
You can't train your scalp to produce less sebum and oils. It will always produce the same amount due to genetics! So you found washing your hair daily went well with your oil production rate and it's honestly way better than caking on fry shampoo. My hair like 2-3 days
Exactly, hair isn’t sentient, it doesn’t know what’s happening on your scalp
Thank you! I get so much anxiety that Im going to damage my hair by washing it daily but it really depends on the person. I have very fine straight hair with an oily scalp due to my genetics. I also live in a hot climate so I produce even more oils. Plus there’s heavy pollution where I live. Ive come to accept that washing it daily is best for my hair.
same!! i just love how my hair looks when its freshly washed and ive never had any issues with it
As i read this advice from a different channel, they said that everybody hair and scalp react differently.
Finnaly!!
I saw like 2 videos today what said:
You should wash your hair 1-2 times a week otherwise you will lose all of you hair…
But I wash my hair literally everyday and it’s completely healthy!!
Im so happy I Finnaly found someone who really knows how to Take care of hair!!❤
I remember hearing “oh you have curly hair you can’t wash your hair every day” like back when I was washing it every few days my scalp was literally so caked with dirt, oil, and dandruff that I was loosing hair. I was actually loosing hair.
So did you go back to washing it everyday?
@@Uwiskqu she probably did
if u want to wash ur hair everyday its the shampoo, don't put shampoo on ur hair everyday trust me ur natural oils in ur hair will become dry and ur hair will be living in a disaster, instead of washing with shampoo rinse ur hair with water only to wash off dirt/hair sweat (since we r in summer yk?) and then u use ur conditioner as a replace for ur shampoo just scrub ur conditioner in ur scalp and u can put on ur ends too! and message for atleast 10 mins leave for another 10 mins and then rinse really well and scrunch ur hair softly from the water that its still in ur hair
hope this helps ❤
edit: btw only 1-2 days in a week using shampoo and the rest of ur haircare routine
I have curly hair and I was told not to wash it everyday. I skip some days, but I wash it almost everyday or it gets tangled and dry. Do what's best for your hair!
I like washing my scalp everyday, but not the length of my hair. It is always protected with loads of conditioner.
YES AMEN SISTER!! i started washing my hair every day after figuring out that waiting to wash it just made it oilier and not "smoother" or "healthier" like it was supposed to. I have never had softer smoother hair.
How often do you use conditioner plz tell?
@@Kiwikru99frankly, almost never lol but I have short hair so I don’t really need it for detangling purposes. I have a leave-in I use sometimes :)
Thank you for finally saying something supporting washing every day! My hair just gets disgusting even if I've tried training if I don't wash it everyday and my stylist said I have some of the healthiest hair she's ever seen.
Honestly this is exactly how it is for me! I’ve tried the cgm but my dandruff never went away AND my hair was still very dry!
Thick hair girls where u at cause I need to wash mine every day now
I have thick, dry hair and washing it every day absolutely kills my hair off lmao. Washing it less often but using leave in conditioner and oils on the lengths is all you need for it to look like this lmao
@@katr_i_na same bro
I wash my hair everyday. I have severe hair loss and it gets better if I wash my hair everyday. people get mad at me and saying my hairloss is due to washing daily. but not darling, I once wash every 2 days and it was nightmare when the wash day came. it’s only gets better when I wash my hair daily.
I used to wash my hair everyday and it dried out the ends of my hair and made my hair greasy wayy too quickly, whatever floats your boat ig🤷
same
Some people can't wash daily it depends on ur hair and the shampoo u use.
I started washing my hair everyday again and it’s soooo greasy 😭
Even afri hair should be washed every 2 to 3/days. Keeping a clean scalp mean a healthy scalp. We all have natural sebum oil on the scalp that is so good for your hair
Exactly my hair has become more curled and healthier now after I started the habit of washing them daily.
Because you don’t have curly hair… that’s why we need to stop latching on to movements we don’t need to be latching into, and recognize that sometimes we can’t fit everywhere. If washing everyday has worked for you, great! Anyone with truly curly hair does not wash it everyday! I mean truly curly not waves.
@@swankyangelo what is the comment 😭
@Swankyangelo .where did the curls come from then? Did someone style it for her at night?
@@swankyangelothat’s not true. I have “true curly hair” when I was in high school I washed it every day and had the healthiest hair. I don’t do that now and my hair is getting shorter and shorter from all the split ends.
@@swankyangelodoesn’t make any sense😂 I have curly hair but they get dry and messy sometimes but after washing daily the curls are more manageable
Same! I had oily, greasy hair before I washed everyday
BRUH THANK YOU I have a very different hair texture than you but my whole life I’ve tried to wash it as little as possible cause it’s always been so extremely dry since I hit puberty, I was told with dry curly hair you can’t wash it too often, so I usually washed 1x/week then every 2 weeks then once a month, I’ve tried all kinds of shit until recently I started washing it a lot more often almost every day my hair has never been softer or more hydrated.
I am the exact same everybody judges me for washing my hair every day but it never damages my hair and I love it
My hair thin and gets oil buildup so quick I was looking for tips or if I should rly wash my hair daily (cause I also heard that was damaging) so thanks for this
Yay!! So glad I could help 🥰♥️
Hi there 😊 been doing hair 12 yrs. So I depends on hair type u should be totally fine washing everyday but I recommend using a sulfate free shampoo for everyday wash just so it isn't as aggressive on ur hair. It cleanses without stripping it. Have a good day 👋
@@Ro-the-boat thanks!
I have fine hair and i wash everyday in morning but when i cant i just use dry shampoo and that works to🤩
All these influencers are saying don’t wash your hair every day, but everybody has different hair types
everyone just needs to remember that everyone all has different types of hair! might not work for someone but might work for someone else!
exactly because i said the exact samething too!
Depends on the person some people it’s better
Saaaaaame!!! I hate the whole "wash your hair as seldom as possible" crap.
It DEPENDS. Hair type, scalp condition, products you use.
I wash my hair 1-2 times a week (used to do it more often as a young girl) and am happy.
Wow, it's so pretty.
Aww thank you so much ☺️
My Asian mom:
no offense, you’re washing your hair every day.my house my rules.
**Gets slipper**
Girl yes haha I wash my hair everyday and I feel gross if I don’t. I have wavy/curly hair (some ringlets) and it looks and feels so nice when I wash it. Horrible when I don’t.
Y'all stop hatting on people,if she needs to,and is ok for her hair, what's the problem??It totally depends on your hair,so stop judging,I also wash my hair everyday because of my scalp and because it gets very greasy, and it's totally fine
I'm sorry people are so unnecessarily mean. BTW I love your curls in the after they look shinier and healthier
Thank you so much 🥰♥️
She doesn’t have any curls
It depends on your hair type, i have thin hair that gets greasy by the end of the first 24 hours. I tried training my hair by slowly increasing the amount of time between washes, all the way up to a week between. I tried this for a year and all it did was make my hair extremely greasy and dandruffy with no improvements to thickness or shine. I since have gone back to washing it every day and have no dandruff and my hair texture is so nice again.
I cant wash my hair everyday, its all natural black curls so they will get extremely damaged if i do. Also start falling out. So i guess it depends on your hair type 😕
OMGGGG YESS FINALLY SOMEONE WHO CONFIRM WE CAN WASH OUR HAIR EVERYDAYYY
I wash my hair everyday coz im at the beach everyday. Cant imagine not taking daily showers, including washing ur hair
I wash my hair everyday and everyone loves it its silky smooth but only problem its like staticy
Actually it’s on the type of hair also my internet is being rude so idk if someone said this yet but yea it depends I can’t because I have like really thick hair and it damages my hair and makes it fall out and I had curls now they gone as h*ell-
Lol exactly
Nothing really changed but you go girl
I’ve washed my hair every day my whole life, I have the healthiest hair I know lol no joke
It’s the same for me, but I don’t wash it everyday since I get oily hair pretty quick but when I wouldn’t wash it for many days trying to train it, it never worked so that’s why I just wash my hair every 2-3 days since it’s best for mine.
Literally I love it and my hair never fe so gross anymore and it’s so easy to brush and my curls are purfect
My hair gets super greasy if I do not wash it, so I keep washing it every day ❤
My "friends" bullied me for washing me hair every day, so I started washing ever 2 days like they said and my hair got worse- I shower every day and my hair had never been healthier
People seem to forget all hair textures are not the same . My hair does not need to be washed everyday , so comparisons are a waste of time . Everyone just needs to do what works for them .
My hAiR is wAteR rEsisTanT HEHHEHE 🥲
As a hairstylist its totally up to you and your scalp! Trial and error, sometimes it takes time figuring out what works best for your hair, and if you find its healthiest and most beautiful when washing every day then that's what works for you
Well damn brushing and styling your hair sure does make a difference 🙃
Amen, spoken from someone who actually cares about their body.
I work in a hospital so I wash my hair twice a say for safety. 🙂🙂
You tried to make a point, yet you showed unstyled BEFORE, and styled AFTER. Yeah sooooo totally fare. Thumbs-down!
Lol! Both times my hair was styled
Lmao
Yes!! My hair actually hurts when I don't wash it bc the oils and acid mix and create yeast that actually hurts my scalp to the touch. My daughter gets it too so we have to wash every other day.
I've literally never seen natural curls like the "After" picture, it's so obviously styled and not a good comparison
I wash my hair daily and it's extremely healthy. There's no one-method-fits-all on hair. Yours looks great!
Who the f is judging u
People will make up 💩 just to get attention. She obviously wanted a reason to be seen in a towel
So we officially don’t care about saving water ! Definition of selfish be like
It's okay to cause her hair is shiny now...duh
But seriously yeah people really need to get a grip
What? Regardless of whether you wash your hair you should most definitely be showering everyday anyways.
SAME HERE GURL!!!!
IT HELPS SO MUCH TBH
I have to wash my hair everyday because of sports. Unfortunately this causes my hair to get greasy in about a day and 1/2.
Whatever works for you, and clearly washing everyday works! Beautiful

Omg me too !!!! I followed the don't wash your hair for days, worst dryest hair of my life !!!! So glad I switched to daily to every second day.
