A long time ago, the words sporty and Kia just didn't go hand in hand, however that all changed three years ago with the introduction of the Stinger GT. It won the hearts of enthusiasts around the world and with the Stinger changing people's perception of Kia, the company sets its sights on making the rest of the lineup more sporty. For 2020, Kia is trying their hand at the sport compact segment with the all-new #KiaForteGT. It has the same handsome styling of the regular #KiaForte, but the #ForteGT is energized with a 1.6L turbo engine with an extra 54 HP over the base model. A 6-speed manual is the standard transmission with a 7-speed DCT available. At a starting price of $22,450, its one of the least expensive fun cars you can buy in America today.

What is the exhaust "pop" .. noises like that I always assume were not good for the engine long term durability .. over tuned like a race-car; but those engines are not designed to last years and to be broken down and reassembled often.

Toyota has the anemic 86 which most are not happy with it's power means it's slow. Hell even Honda s2000 had 240hp when it came out. They just released a supra last year. Meanwhile Honda had years before the Supra came out. The Accord option manual, civics option manual. Nothing but a slow 86 and corolla has a manual for Toyota in the USA. Which a Si can take both. Only thing faster with no manual is the supra. An Honda has the more exciting Type R with a manual. Drivers focus cars go to Honda hands down in the past 5 or more years in the USA.

@@invincibleDG123 Well you watching a Kia car an trying to compare it to Toyota or Honda. An this suppose to be they, sporty compact sedan model. Which happens to come in manual option. So the closest thing to sporty is Honda with the SI with a manual or VW Golf or Jetta. Also when it comes to bang for buck Honda runs circles around Kia. Reliability plus performance. Now Toyota is reliable but lacks performance in any vehicle under 30k in the USA. Toyota is more reliable but how much compared to a Honda? Honda has closer reliability to Toyota then Kia or Hyundai. But when it comes to driving options Honda is king in America period. Japanese or Korean carmakers in America. Performance, reliability and driving options equal Honda.

Cars aren’t about performance and looks it’s the overall package and KIA is hated because of the brand name and oh but it’s a Kia but no. Kia is boomin since 2019. Fun fact bmw designers quit and joined Kia and created the Kia stinger and the whole GT design and are now injecting GT dna from the stinger to all cars starting with the Kia Forte. Next up is Kia seltos with GT model, only available in India for now and check out Kia Optima 2021 and sorento 2021 all following the GT design. KIA any day over any Mercedes or bmw, I’d rather buy smart.

    • @rmendez011

That's true but I was thinking about semi-trucks and I know the same ideology applies to them, but they are way higher than any other vehicle on the road making these rear, bottom mounted turn signals kinda dangerous, and IMO make the car look a bit ugly. But apart from that, the car is beautiful.

    • @connermt74

      @isaac198428 4 года назад +10

You can still see them at the lights. So long as you are not too close. People are obsessed with being right next to the car in front of them, most think if they ride your bumper you will speed up. For me it’s the opposite, I slow down to annoy your if I’m already going way over the speed limit but you keep tailgating since I’m not catching a speeding ticket because of anyone... If you’re not a heavy truck that might kill me. Haha!

Love your channel... And I'm glad to see your review about the 2020 Forte GT!
    --
TL;DR Totally agree with this video review! I ended up purchasing the Forte GT a few days ago.
During the last 4-5 weeks, I've been testing 4 models in the Compact sedan segment: Forte GT, Elantra Sport, New Corolla SE and Mazda3 GT. Initially drove both the Elantra Sport and the Kia Forte GT Sedan (followed by the New Corolla SE and Mazda3 GT).
Although same cars mechanically, the GT felt a bit sharper around the corners compared to the Hyundai (steering and suspension tuning, maybe?), and the interior was a bit more upscale in the Kia. The Elantra just has a lot of hard plastic in the cabin, especially on the doors (I believe the Ultimate trim level should be better).
The New Corolla powertrain surprised me a bit with the new Direct-shift CVT. By just avoiding CVT transmissions at any cost, maybe I had my expectations set so low that the implementation of a 1st “real” gear gave me the impression of a quicker car. The steering wheel was not that sharper when compared to the Forte GT, but less laggy than the new gen4 Mazda3 (more below). The Corolla’s interior is okay, the dashboard design is nice but is so cheap in terms of materials (and that screen doesn't look great).
Last, there was the Mazda3: having done my homework and read lots about the all-new Gen4 Mazda3, I was expecting a way better handling (and dynamics) and I feel like I got tricked. Don’t get me wrong: the Mazda3 still handles nicely, but maybe with this new generation Mazda just went the ride quality side (w/ a silent cabin and a remarkable soft ride, not to mention that luxurious interior). I was expecting some sharp handling but instead, I got a laggy feeling at the wheel every time I tried some corners.
I tried to love the Mazda3 as much as I could, but it didn't help.
In order to help with my decision, I created a comparison table for all models I was testing and the qualities that were important to me: design, powertrain, features, interior, handling/dynamics, ride quality and sound system. For all these 7 aspects, the Mazda3 GT got a total of 62 points. The Forte GT: a close 61.
In the end, I purchased the Forte GT exactly 6 days ago. The Harman Kardon sound system is not that behind when compared to the Bose in the Mazda3. Also, the sharp handling, powertrain (turbo + DCT) and features (5 years of complimentary UVO services w/ remote start, the rear back vents, ventilated front seats, wireless charger etc) stood out from what I was getting in the Mazda3 (it outdid the Kia only in ride quality, sound system and interior). Last, the dealership: Mazda did so little to get me buying their car, and Kia on the other hand just did everything they could in terms of incentives and some extras (from oil changes for life to a trip to Vegas, not to mention a few other perks).
Kudos, Kia! I'm looking forward to their new logo which is coming in the next few months!

I got one with the dual clutch and GT-2 packages and paid a little over $23K with a no interest loan. There is nothing on the market that campares to this for that price. First, thing I am going to do is change the fog lights for LEDs to match the 5000K color of the headlights and be brighter. Is it a GTI? No. But, it is a better bang for the buck.

Great review! I own a 2020 Forte GT Canadian version (29K CAD without other fees)! Man, this car is amazing! I was confused getting this GT or Civic SI. I drove Toyota and Honda in past. I do have respect for them, however, this time just wanted to change the taste and considering all of my situation (I had a big negative balance from my previous car, otherwise I could try for the stinger), last month I brought GT (hp 201, DCT, this is one of the reasons I bought; I reckon GT can beat any of its rivals in this price point, And a neck to neck fight against SI; SI comes with ~3K CAD more than GT tho). I am pretty sure some other guys are also confused like me if they wanna get a GT or SI.
Thus, it would be cool if you could make a video comparing Civic SI with this lill stinger! Keep up your good work! Thanks
