and Like Literally, none of the this was Datamined because they didn't add it to PTR 7.3. So all of it was solved on the spot by hand. Though with 20-40,000 people searching it's pretty hard to hide something.
Hey man, remember how much time we spent on the skull mate? XD I kept trying to tell them the skull wasnt the clue, or the chair but they were so stuborn!
This is so ridiculous it makes me wonder if there's others like this no one has even found yet.
I remember glitching/jumping my way into those crypts way back when. It's pretty cool to see the area utilized in such a way, and seeing those upside down corpses reminded me of how morbid it was when I first trespassed into this unfinished zone.

Because Blizzard HATES flying. They want to slow us down as much as possible -- that's why they secretly changed all loot in even old dungeons in 7.3 to be personal loot. It's actually fucking HARDER to loot when soloing old stuff like Uldaman because so few corpses are clickable and we cannot disenchant with the loot window anymore. Shitty company.

The maze was easy as fuck? Did you even map it
i mapped it and i came to the blue rune twice in 5minutes while not backtracking, i think you cant really map it, its kinda random/you get different rooms by entering left,top,right, doesnt matter which way you go back and forth it feels like
That's the point... old gods and all.
The mazes are random for everyone,you can get a pretty simple one or you can get super messed up map with loops on almost every corner so mapping didn't help me all that much especially at 4/5.I think they can morph too at least according to my mapping and other player reports.
All those days and headaches and it's finally over. It's bittersweet. I just want to say a big thank you to you, for all your videos and tips. Also for getting me hooked on discord. I resisted, but glad I gave in for this. Although toxic at times, it was fun to be part of the community all working together like that. Time to ride my stupid purple unicorn all over Argus!
I know it got toxic sometimes, but I can truly say that in terms of experiences I've ever had in WoW, this will now forever be my fondest memory of the game. I have never had as much fun playing as I did during the search of this mount. I complained that I wanted to solve it, only to be sad that now I'm just going back to normal WoW. No amount of expansions could probably replace the joy I experienced in the past 4 days on this game.
I totally agree, having thousends of people together to solve a secret of this magnitude must be one of the most awesome thing i've ever done in WoW.
Same happened to me, I tried to solve the binary clue for like 8h and got really mad, cause it took me only like 3h to solve the anagram, but thanks to Nattläget that told you about the screenshot I uploaded on Discord, and Pudschu who helped me on trying it in german we were able to continue.

Yeah I wasn't sure who else to thank. Nattlaget was really the only one that contacted me. I wasn't sure why he didn't suggest it in the chat, I assumed it was just out of shyness. So I was glad I could be useful. They voice chat enjoyed it then they wrote it off for a bit saying ISN'T POSSIBLE IT'S AN ANAGRAM and then it was nice when it was actually the answer lol.

I'm glad you finally got it. I was watching on Twitch for hours till your stream stopped. Thanks for sharing the experience. I played for nine years been away over two but this bit of magic might have lured me back. The mount itself is almost eclipsed by the rare community effort. Felt a bit more like the old days.

@@greim3516 Its PvE first. PvP was an afterthought. Id like pvp gone. War mode is a start. Now they just gotta remove the 10 % bonus rewards to kill all the incetinve that forces people into unwanted pvp.

Just wow. The difficulty increase is way a lot isn't it? I think in the previous mount worm and most of the steps could be bruteforced, but in this lucid nightmare brute force was plainly useless. So congrats to the community and Blizzard.

I did a map and didn't realize their was elevations. That maze did drive me insane.
I was in that maze....for more than 5 hrs...
The first four colors were EASY..
BUT, my last color(rune), blue, took me HOURS.. I honestly almost gave up..
BUT! An hour ago I finally got my blue rune. I was so freaking relieved.
Devore did you used pen and paper to map the maze? I did, and i still got lost at the last rune, but i dint take long to find it.

most of the riddles seemed pretty self explanetory. The only trick was searching through the zones hinted in the riddles. However the puzzles are pretty baffling

Honestly this whole freaking puzzle gave me, and probably the entire wow community a headache but I fucking love my purple unicorn and I actually had so much fun going crazy with you all.
D Smith yes, my head is in pain too, so many riddles, and they really made you think about or get analytical about it. Still I found it to be very enjoyable, the purple unicorn is deffintley quite rewarding considering the time and effort put in to getting it.

Sooo.... trying to get this done, and was in the maze from hell, and servers started to shut down >.< had 2 orbs done, 15 mins to finish. just ran my ass off to find the rest and actually just finished with 30 secs till servers shut down. i almost pissed my self in fear hahahaha thanks so much for the guide and all the help :) will get my mount as soon as servers come back up

The only thing annoying the pants off me in this video is the constant BIIING BIIING.. of people logging on and off.. you should REALLY turn that off when making videoes :D I'm sure it will keep your sanity in check a little longer even :p

I saw someone in dal with this mount a few hours ago shocked that it had been solved the nice player offered to walk me through the steps to help me get this mount. get "lucid nightmare" addon for maze, thank me later....just click the color "marker" everytime a room has that color, just run around and away and you will eventually grab all the orbs with the markers, 5 colors (blue red green yellow purple) and every orb/marker is withing 8 "rooms" from each other....the whole puzzle seems to be 30 x 30 and some rooms are teleport rooms so the maze is silly, good luck with the maze part, took me a few hours and once i got the addon the last color i needed (blue) took me 5 minutes

I know, right? I actually clicked on that clue in new Dal and was like, "well, that obviously means something, but someone else will have to figure it out." Then Lucid Nightmare happens. lol Glad y'all figured it out, Mmrrggll!
the maze at the end will be what prevents a lot of players from just running from A to B clicking pages, i thinks its a good thing that you have to invenst atleast a bit of time into this if you were just waiting for the discord ppl to solve it :D
A bit of Time, a bit of Time, i try it for a whole Day now and still didnt got it, i made many Maps i got the Addon that is supposed to help you, i think its Retarded, that Mount cant even Fly thats even more Sad.
In my first try, i spent 4 hours learning all the things i shouldn't do...
In my second try i spent 45 minutes getting 5/5.
I shared what i learned with a friend struggling with it... Then they got 5/5 in 30 minutes, even faster than me. xD
I... may have figured out the "maze" based on my results...
Discord was crazy town at times and that maze took 8hrs of my life from me lol
:Edit: (I tried a couple different maps for the Halls and it was working, sorta, just time consuming and confusing with the overlaps/elevation changes etc. So I said, 'screw it' I'm gonna just run randomly, grab every orb I see and turn it in the moment I see a rune. I was done in 30 minutes!!
I'm not saying this is the way, as the mapping has merits and helps you inderstand the system, but it is an option. I tried to keep it random and noted which directions I took, etc. Good luck to all attempting this. I think this mount is so stunning.) I'm am so ridiculously impressed with all of you. I'd been away for nearly 2 years when I stumbled across and looked up what the note was all about. I've played since vanilla and still couldn't fathom how you guys solved some of these. I have one orb to go in the maze, and I want to die, but I am LOVING this challenge. This is really fun, I hope Blizzard does more of this. Kind of reminds me of the old days, in some weird way.
Edit: when I said I had one orb to go, what I meant to say is, " why god why, please end this hell"

Absolutely incredible. I am so glad they have added things like this. The cryptic stuff was always my favourite in WoW and now to actually have cryptic things that lead to something cool? Excellent. I am at the maze now and trying to map it out... is well... seemingly impossible but I think I'm finding where the maze is twisting and turning... Then again my mind has twisted into mush. I shouldn't have started it right before I needed to go to sleep.
Time to sleep and likely have nightmares about that endless maze.
i am demon hunter main, technically u cant cheat, even dashing past the rock, u still need to go onto other rooms thats blocked, so doesnt matter if u r demon hunter or not, u still need to be able to know where all the orbs and runes are.

Amazing work! Finally completed the maze! It is truly one of the most difficult challenges I have encountered for solo content. The maze gets harder as you complete the runes. With fewer reference points available. Just for the record you can log out and back in and you will be at the beginning of the maze. Your completed runes will also stay completed. If you accidently mess up and hearth prior to going to the next room after completing the maze (like I did). You can fly back and enter the maze, go to the next room and there is your final clue!
I think it's cool that they have the patience to do this and for a mount that's EHhhh.... but something cool... props to the wow community for sticking to each other as we always do

How do people find these things? Like this could be a question for MIT entrance exams or something!
The "Binary" one is really the one that took I guess the weirdest method to reach. Other than that it's like "the answer is right there" almost :P.
But how did you guys figure out where to go? Like I hadn't have any clue whatsoever where to go after reading the notes. The riddles themselves may have been "easy" IF you find them, but I just had no clue at all. So whats the deal with that?

It's not just one person solving a riddle. Every task's efficiency is vastly increased with group involvement. Human minds are social ones and work very well cooperatively. Problem-solving becomes easier when in a group.

The discord was lit with 'GG' after we got there. My only annoyance is that i was literally on the rare spawn outside the val'sharah step before it was discovered but went for a cup of tea( I'm British, it's law)
This reminds me of Tibia's endless riddles.. So many still not known but it really gives you something to do when you want change :D

Big thanks Mmrrggll, very helpful guide. One note, I believe since your video they must have patched things as the rocks were much higher when I did it, and couldn't jump onto them with my DH, as if they were just a textured wall.

Omg it took me 2 hours also to get all the orbs to the right spot. Mapping was definitely key to finding the correct color table. Thank you this was a great help. It was driving me bonkers that last one. I love puzzles but this was freaking NUTSSSS. :)

After 3 hours, I had not found the Red Orb in the Maze. It turned out, it was a whopping 7 rooms away from the Red Rune, which was the 2nd room I had entered. F. M. L.

Took me two days following your instructions. The halls are no joke. Map it. I used the addon and just counted the rooms while marking the ones of importance.

Took me almost an hour to finish this. In the end, mapping saved me. I probably would have been done in 15 minutes if I had just done it the entire time, but I kept getting bored and running around randomly. However, I started mapping when I found the yellow/green fires (last two I needed) and mapped about two dozen rooms before I got bored again. Then I found yellow fire and started running through some more rooms, recognized the pattern of rooms, and realized it hooked up with the map I had already made, which allowed me to finish.
