We have to understand what things we should spend on and what we should not waste money. We should always be sensible in spending money before the starting of a trip. I know things might be very facinating and tempting before we start for a trip, to buy a new bike, to bike new saddle bags, tank bags etc etc.. but there are always other ways availalble where we can spend less and go for an amazing trip to Leh Ladakh.

Truly very sensible video Bulu.
There is a lot of hype about travelling and the accessories needed. Apart from proper riding gear, most serve as aesthetics. I have seen people just using regular duffle bags with tarpaulin to make it waterproof and a couple of bungee cords. As long as the luggage stays safe and hamper your riding, its should be good enough.

Get the Dominar and use a handlebar riser, you will be really comfortable, Duke 200 has got slightly stiffer suspension setup which might be little uncomfortable for you.. plus Dominar has got abs too so better safety too...

Re the part of the video where you talk about the tyres, I think you should prepare your bike for the worst sections of the trip because that's where things are bound to go wrong. If you're riding 1000kms on the tarmac and 200kms offroad, prepare for the 200kms and coast through the rest.

+MB Rajesh the bike is absolutely good... No rattling noise nothing, just that the chain sprocket has to be replaced after a 1000 or 2000 kms... Thats all..

Anyway it's early days,But it seems to be robust in nature it will hold itself for long,What I understand is Bajaj Have Done extensive testing on the Leh- Laddakh road and once I happen see bike disguised and unique arrangements they did for load carrying with a pillion and weight added on both side approx 4 sacks .As it was passing through Nagpur ,I guess they were doing back to back K2K.Anyway Quite valuable information you shared in this vlog .I am planning to pick D400 & may plan International tour to Mighty China ,Mangolia, Cambodia Myanmar ,(far east) may be a extended tour to Siberia in Oct 18 to Dec 2018.What should be the budget I should plan as per your experience.What I worked out is approx total distance would be 30-35k.

Any tire can take laddakh. You don't need off road tyres as most and almost all the road to Leh is tarmac layed road. There is few sections which are not tarmac and are under construction!

First of all I don't get the point why you even made this video. If your only objective of life is Ladakh ride, bro you don't need to buy a bike at all, forget buying gears. You could just rent a bike in Manali or Delhi and start the trip. Common who decides to buy a bike to do a trip. Someone who has a bike decides to do trip on his or her bike, or someone who is an enthusiast buys a bike. I think your assumptions are only based on rarest of the rare bikers and not the general bikers. Those who do Ladakh rides, its pretty obvious people will also aim for using it for other tours. Nobody will be like "oh, I love riding so I ll do a Ladakh ride and quit". And most of the tanks that come on bikes are metals, nobody makes plastic or glass tanks. At one point you say you shouldn't invest money on customising buying saddle bags, tank bags then the next moment you speak of buying them. You need to buy a jacket? So you buy a second hand jacket and go and buy a new rain liner and thermal liner jacket? Dude do you even know what you are talking about? And your theme behind the video was don't waste money on buying stuff for Ladakh. Then you started about don't buy a gear but buy a gear second hand, then again buy something with all features. Also buy an intercom, gopro action cam and mounts. So what are you basically trying to say?
Gears are like long term investment for a rider, whatever you buy should ensure your safety, comfort, long life and others safety. After watching your video people will even end up buying cheap olx helmets and their head will pop up open like a watermelon.

Bullu bhai , please try and have a small script ready so that there are fewer repetitions and grammatical mistakes, please try and have lists written down with a 5 or 6 sec shot and rates of things you are recommending. Also do please see where you have parked the bike there is so much glare .. please try and understand light getting into the camera and camera movement .. you keep going round and round in endless monotonous dizzing circles...

What was the total expense u spent in ladakh trip??
FYI I went on Ladakh Trip with my Suzuki Gixxer, what I bought was a riding jack, viaterra sadle bag, and a puncture kit ( that also because my tires were already 18k kms old.
I got from Manali to Leh with just fuel tank, don't think too hard be cool, and enjoy.
Last thing I went SOLO :)
How was the trip on gixxer?
Awesome, I went with stock bike setup, no modifications, but you can modify for seat if you want little more of comfort, and never ride with pillion.

Not atall, but since me and my wife both were travelling therefore luggage was more and for me it was a 22 days ride since I was doing Kanyakumari to Khardungla

from Nepal, i wish to tour in India but m sacred of the places and unknown rules...
the frame sliders you put on are not good for the frame if the bike falls, you rather have a broken fairing or plastic then damage to the chassis.
+M.R Raghav no buddy, though the frame sliders have a stress point which in impact bends or breaks and on slides it allows to erode the delrin and not let your bike topple.
