I love the idea of the NCR repair guy just giving her new rolling pins from their own supply because he thinks she's just some kind old lady that keeps breaking them because she's clumsy or something, only to find out that "kind old lady" used one of those rolling pins to kill the Legion's most feared commander.
I love the idea that the Courier is an elderly woman who is so terrifyingly strong, she can cave in power armor and send grown men flying through the air using just a rolling pin. I imagine she uses it simply because a super sledge in her hands would just liquify everything it came in contact with, which would be way tougher to clean.
I love how the Legion say "Die, Coward!" Even as what is essentially their roided up general is running for his life from an old woman attempts to scramble his head egg
"Can you beat Fallout as Gordon Ramsay." Only cooking tools as weapons, only healing with food you cook yourself. Bonus points for choosing asshole responses in dialogue.
Fallout new vegas but you must kill all named npcs that have beards and mustaches. Note: Npcs that have their face covered do not count towards the challenge even if they have beards and or mustaches Another note: any npc you come across that has beards and or mustaches must also be killed
With regards to Malcom Holmes. Him and a number of other encounters will path to the Mojave Outpost Barracks (the building Nerbit had just lefted) once they've finished speaking with the player. They despawn right in front of the building's enterance. In this case, Malcom caught Nerbit just as he was exiting the building, so as he exited dialogue, desapwned as he was right in his despawn trigger.
Ah yes, you truly do keep these banger videos "rolling" along. Probably for the best to put a "pin" on the New Vegas gameplay mechanics but as usual, these builds are just godly that you make. Puns aside man love your videos.
If you’re curious why Malcolm despawned at the outpost it’s because it’s the location he’s programmed to go to despawn. Like after meeting you he walks to that door in the outpost and then poof gone
Imagine being part of a badass techno-mechanical militia and an old lady with a rolling pin hacks your computers, sets off a self destruct sequence, fights dozens of armored soldiers and then outruns your guards… an old lady outran your guards with a brisk power walk. I've had this idea for a while now, and im sure youre the perfect one to do it Nerbit: Can you beat *insert FO game* while being a big coward? Basically, find your preferred list of the top 10 phobias people hold and roleplay them being at the heart of your character. Running away from dogs, snakes, and spiders, avoiding needles and climbing down steep heights; I think it coukd make for a great mix-up kind of run!
You should turn this into a Grandma run, like, you can only wear the Spring Time Casual Clothes (or whatever they're called), only heal yourself with nibblies you made yourself, and, of course, use only the rolling pin
Dumping Agility is actually quite a big miss, i think Agi increases your animation speed in everything and most importantly - in reload and melee attack, so dumping agi, especially in melee build, loses you a LOT of DPS.
Imagine being one of the most feared man in a legion which is know to be very evil and then proceeding to get killed by a old grandma with a rolling pin
When you do Fallout 4, make it a Muriel Bagge Run. Rolling Pin weapon Kindly, old lady (try to peacefully resolve any situation that can be resolved without violence)
A rolling pin run could be really cool if put with some other challenge. Make it a chef run where you can only heal with cooked foods, no stimpacks, beds, bags, water or anything else. Maybe make it extra challenging and fun and make it so to complete the run you have the beat the game and cook one of every single food in the game, like the skyrim gourmet challenge or something of the sort. Fallout 4 has a big list of cookable stuff, and would be more interesting than just rolling pin alone.
I love how granny “sheathes” her rolling pin like a sword. Like a badass granmurai warrior! Haha I’m just picturing a badass old lady, like a Helen Mirren type bashing skulls and casually sheathing her pin as she walks away. Like John Wick but old lady. Someone stole the wrong pie! That pie was meant as a tribute to her dead husband and some bastard stole it off the window sill… and now they will pay with blood!
Y'know, it makes a lotta sense Granny Rolly would side with Mr. House. The moment she'd see him for the first time her grandma instincts would kick in because he is nothing but skin and bones!
5:30 Malcolm Holmes vanished because he, like many NPCs in New Vegas, has a set location he's ordered to move to after his encounter with the player. Malcolm's location is right in front of the Mojave Outpost building, and as soon as he reaches that spot, he vanishes instantly. Since you were stood at that spot when he caught up with you, he vanished immediately. Many A True Nerd did a video investigating this a long time ago, looking at where a bunch of different New Vegas NPCs go after their interactions with the player are concluded.
Can you beat Fallout 3 as Grandma Sparkles? You must install 100 mods at random and manage to make it to the end of the game with without crashing. Every time you crash, you must restart from the entrance of Vault 101 (you are allowed to make a hard save here). A shout-out to Mitten Squad if you will, this would probably put a smile on his face.
Video suggestion: Can you beat New Vegas with only unique weapons? While easy on paper… only using unique weapons will present challenges in how to get them, spread out ammo and skills. And mostly because I’d wanna see how Nerbit tackles it!
I feel a little embarrassed. I just did a casual playthrough of NV where I did all the same stuff, but with the super sledge instead, and now Nerbit does it with the rolling pin. Great video!
Can you beat Skyrim as a Chef? Have to dress the part and use the fork and knife weapons, and can only heal with food (bonus points if you make it yourself). Also completing the chef-y sidequests like helping get spiced wine, delivering fishing ingredients, and making soup for the emperor.
I had no idea the slide show at the end was just the courier standing in a room in 1st person. I love fallout games so much!! Reminds me of the train part in fo3 dlc where the "train" is just a giant train shaped hat that an npc wears while he runs really really fast. Best thing ever.
Something fun you can do within the rollin pin run arc is try and cook all the consumables/food in the game. Be a yrue grandma and make sure the wastland is never hungry!
Suggestion for a character/historical figure run: “Can you beat Fallout New Vegas as general Douglas MacArthur?” A bit of context: MacArthur was a US general who was famously fired during the Korean War after he revealed that his plan to win the war was to launch a massive tactical nuke attack at the border between the Korean Peninsula and China. His idea was to turn the area into a wasteland to prevent troops and aid to make it to the peninsula. Basically this would be a Fat Man focus run. That’s why I suggested New Vegas BTW, as the Gun Runners' Arsenal DLC let’s you buy different types of mini nukes. Hopefully this helps to make the challenge more than a pacifist run with extra steps, plus the variety of explosions might help to make the experience less repetitive, and maybe even tactical as each type of mini nuke have different aspects. Also because this is a character run, you should know that despite his willingness to use nukes MacArthur only carried a .32 semi automatic pocket pistol (apparently for him the solution for most problems was either an scalpel or a chainsaw). The only .32 pistol in New Vegas is the Police Pistol from the Dead Money DLC, the problem is that’s a revolver not a semi automatic pistol, however any other relatively small pistol should do the trick. Whatever the case, the pistol should be useful at the beginning of the run and for killing anything that might have survived a mini nuke. As for the look? The best I can think of is to get general Oliver’s uniform (boots and cap included) and complement it with some massive sunglasses and a smoking pipe, though for that last one anything relatively close to it should do the trick. That being said someone pointed out to me that the Lonesome Road DLC has the “US Army General outfit”, problem is that outfit is dominated by a trench coat (making it very WW1ish), while general Oliver’s clothes more closely resembles what MacArthur used to wear. Someone also mentioned that one of the requirements of the run should be to complete the Lonesome Road DLC, or just detonate all the nukes in it. I would also suggest collecting all 14 of the normal mini nukes that are in the base game, though I feel like that it might be a bit boring compared to everything else on the run. Attempt: 5
I believe a fuller "can you beat nv as a grandma", which means just the dress, the rolling pin, the knife, and exclusivelly using stuff you cook for healing (plus healing snuffles leg because grandma kisses help everything) would be more intense, but I really don't want to unleash that on an unmodded run
Fun challenge and I love the Courage the Cowardly dog reference in that thumbnail. And I want to humbly suggest the Can you beat Skyrim as Minecraft Steve? Rules are you must collect materials and craft your own gear, food and potions. Your allowed to pick up a pickaxe because there is no way to craft one. You must also train blacksmithing and get better gear like in Minecraft. Additional tidbit is that any trading if you decide to do that must be done with emeralds. Also the level of smithing skill you gain is tied to the items cost, so the more expensive the item you craft the more skill you gain.
Not sure if its been said but the teaser for your "Abe Lincoln in Skyrim" idea popped in my head the other day while playing and a Battleaxe and crossbow build would fit with the vampire hunter aspect of the character Love your videos, always a great watch

A lot of the time you can find rolling pins in the mailboxes around Goodsprings. Also, you can also steal the thrust control modules from Old Lady Gibson if you have high enough lockpicking. Was never big on melee only gameplay in Fallout until Nerbits videos. Now after trying a run of it in Fallout 4 I realized a huge upside I some how missed. Ammo in a melee run is an endless supply of free caps.
Pausing at 1:22 Okay, I know we all asked for a “rolling pin only run” and didn’t add any other challenge requirements, BUT, how cool would this run be if it was like: rolling pin only, I have to take cannibal, old world gourmet, tribal wisdom, and any and all other food related perks, I can only restore health through eating corpses and preparing food, and I have to be naked until I kill Philippe and take his suit then kill cook cook and take his hat. Just brainstorming, mainly bc I wanna see how many of these ideas Nerbit also had tehehe

I literally finished the fallout 4 silver shroud video, refreshed RUclips and this was posted. Best timing of my life
I want Nerbit to do a New Vegas run as an Omerta. I want him to become what he has sworn to destroy.

Okay, I know we all asked for a “rolling pin only run” and didn’t add any other challenge requirements, BUT, how cool would this run be if it was like: rolling pin only, I have to take cannibal, old world gourmet, tribal wisdom, and any and all other food related perks, I can only restore health through eating corpses and preparing food, and I have to be naked until I kill Philippe and take his suit then kill cook cook and take his hat. Just brainstorming, mainly bc I wanna see how many of these ideas Nerbit also had tehehe
Im glad you use the courage the cowardly dog theme, may we also give respect to murial's voice actor who played her, that passed away.
