The fact Cell survived the explosion was sheer dumb luck, as attested to by himself.
Literally, it'd be a matter probability if he survived another one. People make the assumption he can keep blowing himself up and coming back stronger.

@@askredditstudios8055 Yes, I like that part of the bible
actually the bomb was powerful enough to completely obliterate Cell, unlike Cell’s self-destruct which was an internal explosion and left Cell to regen 16’s nuke was confirmed to be strong enough to annihilate every atom of Cell from point blab
Would earth survive?
Cell didn't think he would survive his personal explosion either, but he managed to. Even if he thought he was in danger, he would survive the same way.
I'd like to believe that if Cell did survive the explosion, he would not be having a good time for a long time afterwards. Considering it's Dr Gero and he did want to "save the earth" in his own twisted way, it was probably a nuclear explosive. Even if Cell's nucleus somehow survives being cooked with the heat of several neutron stars, it would have absorbed so much radiation that he'd end up like Deadpool with his body always being halfway between killing itself and regenerating
@@SoundwaveSCConditions and circumstances would have been different. There's a good chance that because Cell is (or at least closely replicates) a living organism that his self-destruct sequence was made with the intention of him being able to recover over time which is why a few of his cells were spared. Cells is the only one of the Androids (other than 21) who's made to continuously adapt.
But because 16 is all machine, his self-destruct sequence was made to completely obliterate every part of him and the area around him. There would be no reason to spare any part of him as he himself wouldn't be able to heal from it. It's very likely that all of Cell's cells would have been decimated in the process
Bullshit.
To be fair, he did warn them all to -dodge- clear the area.
😂😂
I like that they can obviously survive attacks that can destroy planets at this point (first form Freeza can casually destroy planets, and nobody there should be THAT much weaker) but apparently an explosion that destroys Cell entirely WOULDN'T have to be planetary in scale. How Gero managed that I don't know.
@wadespencer3623 The attacks themselves are most likely far stronger then what they are shown they are just compressed as to not destroy everything
@@westhequagsireplus8191 See I get that for ki attacks, but how the hell do you pull that off with a bomb?
@@wadespencer3623 And keep in mind, had things gone differently and Goku took his heart medicine ahead of time like Trunks told him to, that bomb (from Android 16) *would* have killed Goku easily. A manmade weapon killing a Super Saiyan....
Couldn't Goku just... teleport everyone out?
Plot
Probably 🤔
I mean, Goku teleports later on with cell, so he could probably teleport everyone to King Kai’s planet. Sucks that the earth would most likely be destroyed though

Bro should’ve scored at least 10000 points for the good ending.
I would think if that happens, Cell would actually gather the Dragonballs and bring them back, because he wouldnt be satisfied until he fought someone who could test his perfect form
Piccolo was there as well💀
@@brianonair7350 so? This was after Dende became the Guardian
Dende was the ruler during the Cell Saga so Piccolo dying wouldn’t affect them
Could've sworn the dragon balls are still tied to Piccolo. Did they explicitly say that Dende becoming the Guardian of Earth meant they weren't anymore in either the sub or the manga?
@@J.Blazer I didn’t read that part of the manga but in the show after Piccolo absorbs Kami the dragon balls go stone and Goku recruits Dende and he makes Shenron again
Wouldn't an explosion strong enough to kill ssj2 Gohan pre-arm injury (who even at 50% killed super perfect cell) also completely kill cell without leaving anything to regen from?
Gohan wasnt ssj2
@@Mr.sausage0 right, my bad. I must have remembered the sequences of events wrongly.
@@austinwinston1231yea he goes 2 after 16 dies
Even then, if it's powerful enough to murder SSJ1 Gohan while defending from a blast he knows is coming, I doubt basic perfect Cell has any cells surviving.
Semi perfect cell's explosion was also enough to kill everyone, and he was the source of it, he'd survive 16s too
I dont think that would had likely happened if 16's plan had been successful.
The way Cell retells the story, its implied that he was lucky that his core wasn't damaged in that explosion, which saved him from dying and allowed him to regenerate. His reaction to Goku teleporting him away, and when 16 was about to blow himself up also elaborated that he is confident both explosions would be the end of his life as it is likely his core wouldn't survive it without luck.
Then again, Cell says the core cells responsible for regenerating him are in his head, and we've seen his entire upper body be blown off and he just regenerated from his lower body. So maybe Cell doesn't know his own biology than he thinks he does?
This is true. All that you said is true
Yes, thank you for pointing this out. Also, Cell talking about the core being in his head 11 chapters after his head was blown off is a plothole.
Idk maybe he can move his core cells or something
@kmgyening Didn’t cell say he was lying? Or was that just filler?
@@westhequagsireplus8191 Not sure about the anime, but there was no indication in the manga that he lied about where his core was.
Ok, but did you consider that cell could have been scared, bc the explosion would destroy all of him? If the explosion was powerful enough, there would be no way he can survive.
You're the only person who I seen actually has the correct answer. He was scared of 16's bomb because 16's bomb was meant to annihilate not just destroy like 17s and 18s bomb. 16s Bomb was stronger than cells. Cell's bomb was created so that if he self-destruct he can bring himself back to life because it doesn't destroy all of his cells. 16. However, was meant to literally destroy everything which is why he told everybody to run
@@SkyRazorFang I am going to guess you used dictation to write this, then didn't proof read it. The errors that it made are funny.
@@thetruedemonking5367 yeah I was using Google text to speech cuz I didn't want to stop playing my game!
Cell didn't know he could regen to that extent yet. Wouldn't make sense if he did, he blew himself up only as a last ditch effort and there's really not much sense in this idea that 16's bomb is for some reason stronger than Cell's self destruction. Any explosion powerful enough to kill Cell would require power faaaar beyond what anyone was capable of before SSJ2.
@@SeisoYabai that is a good point
"call an ambulance, call an ambulance, but not for me"
There's nothing to indicate that Cell would survive 16's explosion. Cell blew himself up and he survived, sure. But that doesn't mean 16's explosion wouldn't completely destroy Cell.
They still probably should have told him they removed the bomb
But then Gohan can't go SSJ2. Unless someone else dies.
@@zabustifuYes he could have
16 would just have to be destroyed another way, or a little bit later than usual
@@zabustifuI mean it would be better so if someone else dies they can revive him 16 was a good guy at last so I think he deserves that
@@dynavortex22 I think the real reason 16 does not get revived is because Toriyama did not want to revive him. And it makes sense to me, because it'd make Gohan's anger and transformation meaningless. If you can just revive and fix everything every time, there are no stakes, which is probably the biggest problem in the Dragon Ball story.
Well that only happens if the explosion isn't strong enough to kill cell. It was a fluke that one of cells cells survived his kamikaze in the first place.

Oh.
That's too bad I thought they were pies and I wanted to buy one.
Wait we were just kidding about the bombs
@@bobafett6174 that'll be 25 bucks please.
Well what flavor is it?
I understand that, but counterpoint, INSTANT TRANSMISSION
Which saves two people. Goku and Gohan. Everyone else is too slow to grab Goku
At this point Goku is so fatigued he can’t fight back against a cell jr. so even if he somehow has enough ki to instant transmission he’d struggle to find someone to teleport to.
@@CarthusDojoAs well as a bomb that can eliminate all of the z fighters likely has a decently far range maybe blowing up the entire earth
@@CarthusDojoking kai
Extra counterpoint: Instant transmission is not `Super speed portrayed as Time stop`, At best Goku would only be able to do a leap to a location he likely has been to such as Kami House or the Lookout tower and likely have a limit on how many he could save at the time.
Especially since not everyone is familiar enough (or a mind reader like Goku was apparently in the Namek arc at the start) of instant transmission to think to immediately run to Goku when not every one of them would even know that Android 16 is packing a super nuke, that clearly has to evaporate everything from an absurd number of miles in all direction to `evaporate` Cell.
Since if Android 16 was clearly certain he could delete Cell from that, then that means he would of had todo an actual analysis of any potential issues in the way (such as NAMEKIAN REGENERATION and SAIYAN ZENKAI BOOSTS).
Only reason Cell survived his own explosion was cause he was the bomb and he sent parts of him flying, not someone else being the bomb and incinerating him.
But at that point they would do an arse play that Cell `body blocked most of the damage so some of his Cells from his `backside` did not take the full brunt and would of survived in that case to allow the regeneration.
Ultimately its a silly what IF in general, even if its more interesting then some of the b.s. calls they pull in Super, if they ever bother to get back to running the show then sticking to manga that is now just copy-catting the show`s events in a remix fashion then continuing with a more original plot, but rather just pull a sort of repeat of the plot.
Seriously, Moro arc is effectively the majin buu arc of a `space wizard` wanting large amounts of energy to bring forth a giant menance to the universe, just its himself instead of a magicial being.
Granola arc is literally just What if a `good guy` wanted the dragonballs instead for selfish reasons cause they also got a revenge-detta against a super evil guy, who apparently despite being dead for years, did not kill off whatever revenge-detta he had.
Damn I don't remember 16 being like that. I remember him being like "get away or you'll get blown up too" not "my bad but you all have to get blown up with us"
I’d agree with most of this except Cell coming back in his “Super Perfect” form. He might come back with instant transmission, since he had seen that at this point. But he hadn’t actually encountered a power stronger than himself yet in SSJ2 Gohan. So he might regenerate with instant transmission, but the same power level.
He has Saiyan cells, so he gets a zenkai when he nears death. That's what Super Perfect is, he just got a near-death power-up, along with the ability to maintain Perfect Form with no Androids.

Android 16 - “Nah I’d explode”
Why would the bomb definitely not kill every cell of Cell?
Yea u most likely would get the bad ending
Plus gohan would not unlock ssj 2
Goku would live the explosion but then die to Super perfect cell
Not really. Cell can use IT. He just needs to detect Goku's ki and boom Goku's dead
@@creamery299 cell did not learn Instant Transmission originally until he exploded on King Kai's Planet and turned super perfect
@@Denniz686 He does know how to use it he just doesn't know how yet. It's like with Piccolo regenerating right in front of him. Once Piccolo did that Cell knew he could do that because he has Piccolo DNA. Same thing with Goku, Cell knows about it but doesn't know how to execute it until he sees Goku use it. He's from the future where Dr Gero collected DNA and info from Vegeta, Goku, Freeza, Cold, and Piccolo. He would 100 percent know about every single technique every warrior but wouldn't know how to execute complicated skills until shown like Kaioken, IT, and regenerating.
@creamery299 The only way Goku would defeat Cell is if Cell done something for Goku to get enraged and turned SSJ2
Bulma really did say "y'know, Frieza did try to blow up Namek. Maybe it would be a good idea for us to not let the androids do that."
Goku probably would’ve tried to use instant transmission to save everyone
Yeah, if he couldn't gather everyone at once, he would instead teleport Cell and 16 away.
Either way, the problem's solved
Yeah but Dragon Ball characters prefer to watch instead and do nothing, its called plot induced stupidity
@@NarrativerseAh yes, the "What the fuck are you all standing around for!? Jump that man!" trope. Love DB but from the og series to Super it's always been a thing.
Yeah and blow up king Kai again?
@@thabreaka Maybe. Goku can only teleport next to someone he knows. This is why King Kai was an excellent choice. Cell's self-destruct move was capable of destroying all life on Earth. Android 16's however was comparable to a nuclear explosion, so Goku could have chosen to sacrifice any hermit he knew on Earth instead of King Kai. Master Roshi would have been a viable target in that scenario.
Picolo is the only reason why cell was even that bad

I don’t think he would regen because he only survived *HIS* explosion because it was *HIS* idea
Edit I just realized that piccolos cells were probably what helped him regen not just the fact that it was his idea but I think he would still die
Correct, plus for some silly reason he learned instant transmission in the process, thus being able to teleport from King Kai's planet. The moral of the story is - don't look for logic in Dragon Ball, C16's explosion would change nothing as Toriyama would come up with whatever he wanted anyway :)
@@arkadiuszbochenek7825 he learned I.T because it was used in front of him just like how goku learned kame-hame-ha just from seeing it by roshi but in a what if scenario he would win and cell would be forever gone other than max and the future

It's also worth noting that this boost would make him stronger than the perfect-er cell Gohan would fight was, because he wouldn't have had android bae-teen knocked out of him
He wouldn't have been stronger with 18 still inside his body remembered his form so he had equal and more power due to zenkai she made no difference.
He did tell everyone to leave, they woukd of been fine
Depends how big the explosion would have been and they were already fatigued from all the fighting.
OR
We’d get super perfect cell early before gohan goes ss2 either making this a clean sweep or gohan has a tougher fight on his hands after he goes ss2.
I feel like i should point out that 16s estimates of cells abilities has been wrong before hes not infallible
I don't like bad endings:(
Not only that, but this SPC would be STRONGER than the one on story, because he’d still have 18 inside him.
That wasn't a factor. His cells or nucleus remembered his full power in his perfect form before getting the zenkai. All that would have led to is no 18 on the lookout but they both would have been revived if Cell was defeated and the dragonballs used.
He'd be way stronger since his Zenkai trusted him from Semi to Super Perfect, so a Perfect Cell Zenaki would probably be Ultra
Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan dying to a Self Destruct Sequence seems pretty far fetched. Yamcha tho, has been blown up by a suicidal flower from the ground tho so that not so much
I doubt Cell was actually concerned of the explosion and more concerned of getting caught off guard, I have a feeling Cell intentionally let Android 16 self destruct because if Cell really was concerned than he would have squirmed free from Android 16’s grasp if the bomb was a real threat
Dang, to bad there isn't anyone who can move at instantaneous speeds that could potentially grab everyone and move to... let's say another realm or region before a character was able to explode.

If goku's fast enough he can probably instant transmission everyone out, it took at least a minute or 2 for 16 to attempt to activate it and we know that transmission needs at least a few seconds to activate, or if the z fighters are fast enough they can just outrun the explosion since most of them is faster then the speed of light post saiyan arc which was 5 seasons ago 😅

Either regenerate or, that famous line about reverting into an egg and being buried for 3 years.
I always assumed that the bomb was kind of like a mechanical version of a “spirit bomb” it not only amplified the power of the user who hosts it, but it also has been pumped full of energy for years. Dr. Gero was a genius… a mad genius.
funny how many tiny changes in the story just lead to everyone dying
Cell living his own self destruct was a fluke so it entirely possible that cell dies to 16s bomb
I don't think he'd regenerate, when he blew himself up his body knew what was going on.
Other scenario : happens
Cell : Nah id regenerate
1 small mistake. The revivable wouldn’t be as cool as a Super Perfect Cell, but still a slightly stronger perfect cell.
Carthur when he realizes 16 would also destroy cells core there
I like how this wasn’t an ad for “why Bulma is the most important character”video
Unless cell died, I mean gohans. Kamehameha killed him so it's not like 16s nuke couldn't have killed him, super perfect cell might've just never happened
“The Bomb…..WE REMOVED IT!!😫” 😂😂😂
big oopsies (not rly)
People forget Cell got lucky when he survived his own self destruct. His survival wasn’t guaranteed
I mean tbf if they died that is their fault because he gave them a fair amount of time to get away especially when you consider how fast everyone is 😅.
Those two are always saving everyone 😅
Would be fascinating to see a short what if series where this happens and cell decides to become the main character. Kinda like superior spiderman where ock becomes peter, except after cell regens and realizes hes the only fighter left on earth he decides to show how superior he is to the z fighters and defends earth as an anti hero.
Android 16: Im bout to blow
There's litteraly nothing stopping them to go away
The way piccolo looks scuffed on the tv when zooming out lmao
Sometimes, we need to make mistakes and learn from it, rather than escape.
This makes me appreciate the fact 18 put his head on the line literally so Gohan could see him get crushed and send him over the edge..cuz he could sense he wasn’t at his limit

Theres a factor we dont have.... Thats the difference between cells self destruct which im sure he did count on a single cell surviving and 16s self destruct meant to destroy cell completely. We'll never know.
I used to love Android 16 character. Coolest ginger mohawk.
Well after the explosion they would see cell trying to come back together and they would used everything to stop it and now let’s say that they did stop it it would still be bad because no SS2 for a long time and then no SS3 and no fusion dance which could lead to a very bad Buu saga
16: “WHO GAVE HER THE RIGHT?!”
I think cell's self-destruct regen is a built-in contingency that only works if he's the one to self-destruct. Like, his nucleus is contained safely within the explosion. Gohan shows that an attack capable of obliterating cell from the outside will destroy his nucleus.
Perfect cell's theme hits tho
If the bomb is powerful enough to kill four ssjs then I'm sure his regenerative cell would've been completly vaporized.
Cell be like: die ashamed 16, youre weak 😐
Assuming his nucleus survives said explosion, however i highly recommend assuming the only reason cell survived was because he’d gotten to his perfect form already and had an instinct to leave it intact to regen.
Plot twist... Cell is a bug... How's that heat sensing working for ya?
“WHAT GAVE YOU THE RIGHT-“
If Bulma and the others had told 16 about the Bomb, he would’ve lived…
Android 16 saw cell regenerate i feel like thats something that he considered before nuking himself
Oh no...if only there was someone who could instantly transmit themselves and anyone touching them to any valid ki signature they can locate.
To be fair they could all outfly the countdown. The problem is they are always staring.
That's if nobody was smart enough to fly away
So 16 uses to be a literal walking nuke 💀
Android 17 really hit the vegeta thumb proclaiming he wouldn't be absorbed when thats a exactly what happened it really is a curse
“WHO GAVE HER THE RIIIIGGGHTTT?!?!?!”
Bro said super perfect, as if perfect wasn’t enough😂
He did it for the birds.
Pls next short be what if vegeta never blew him self up (majin saga)
Well, he had those scanners so this might as well be a special bomb that deals with cell better than his own explosion if it was that powerful to took all of them out
I think cells self explosion was made such that it leaves his core while 16s explosion could possibly have had destroyed his core along with his body
He's right next to the nucleus, you sure about that
