worked great on my 440i. Got everything done in under 20 minutes and had no troubles. Like another guy said, my wires were grey and black instead of green, but the process is exactly the same if you pay attention to the placement of each one.
Great product, delivery was delayed because of Covid but excellent communication from the seller. This well thought out instructional video made the installation process a smooth affair. My the final two wires in my vehicle were black and grey as some other commenters had also mentioned. The blue clips were a pain to open, but being patient with them was worth it, love the new functionality of my steering wheel!
Edit: guys, highly recommend the seller and the product. This guide was fantastic. Note that on some cars the harness under the mode selector by your shifter will have different coloured wires. Mine were gray / black. But the wiring positioning is still the same. @MNlasercutting: How do I unplug the 2 position plugs? (time stamp 12:35 in your video)
Just installed this kit on my 2015 F22 M235i. It works flawlessly!!! The hardest part of the instal was removing the factory clip from the iDrive controller. That was a bitch!!
I had that problem too. I was also worried about breaking the retention tabs on the steering module when disassembling it, but I made sure to only have 2 cups of coffee instead of my normal 4 when I did the install. It cut down on my impatience and shakes. lol
Is there anyway to make it m1 comfort and m2 sport+, or m1 sport, m2 sport+ and revert to comfort on the controls on the shifter? It just makes more sense having the buttons directly correlate to a specific driving mode
@MNlasercutting i see you removed the positive terminal from the battery before working with the airbag, I thought it should be the negative? I ask because in my f31 it’s a pain to get to the battery I have to remove a lot of trim in the trunk but if removing the positive terminal is enough there is one also under the hood I could disconnect and that would save me a good bit of hassle 😅
Great kit to fill up the blank buttons on my F30 AH3 steering wheel, plus I do not have to keep looking down at the mode button on the console anymore. The instructions were spot on, and it was great to be able to zoom around in the video to revisit some points. The only problem I ran into was removing the button console; it is really hard getting your finger below the console to get access to the clip. I nipped my finger a bit doing that. I do not know it that was a technique issue, physiological issue (I need longer, thinner fingers with double joints), or just bad luck, but that was almost a show stopper. As some feedback, the “click” of the M1/2 buttons is quite different from the original BMW buttons. I am not sure if this is due to using button slots that were previously open, but having the same feedback to the pushing of the button would be nice.
Hi! Just installed mine. Great tutorial! Everything works except my m1 and m2 buttons. The CC and LIM buttons works just fine. Gone through the video a couple of times, but everything is done in the same way.
Hi Brother, did you manage to figure out whats the issue? installed this recently and M1 M2 still does nothing, the rest of the buttons still working the same
Awesome video! As I said in another video I thought about the concept of this mod a while ago and its awesome to see it come to light. Kind of a nerdy thing, but it would be cool if at some point in the video you went through a sort of wiring/circuit diagram of the mod to explain how the passthrough works. For instance explaining the operation of the read wire to the right bottons and the new harness in the center console? It seems pretty ingenius that rather than running 2 new wires ALL the way from the steering wheel to the drive mode rocker switch that new harness creates some type of passthrough to the iDrive system. Will be definitely buying this in the future...when the e36 track car is sorted...

I just installed this on my 2019 BMW 440i xDrive Gran Coupe. I follow the instructions perfectly, and didn’t damage any wires. However, only the M2 button works not the M1. So I can go down to Eco pro, but I can’t go up to sport or sport+. I’ve taken it apart three times now trying to figure out what went wrong, but I can’t figure it out. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how was it resolved?
Hi. I have a 650i with a retrofitted original M6 steering wheel already with the original black M1 and M2 buttons. Can I use this kit and just switch the internal board? Or it has to be the M-sport wheel with the blank buttons??
no, it may not work with the M4 wheel. only the Msport wheel, they look the same but their electronics are different. this was designed for the M-Sport wheel only
Awesome video and great product! So does the sport mode button selector on the center console still function after you install this? Or does it only work using the M1 m2 buttons on the steering wheel?
you could but that would require running new wires from the steering wheel to the FEM since the connections that exist are reserved for the ACC system whether you have it optioned or not, you cant repurpose those lanes
Hi, if I already have M1 and M2 on my steering wheel, do I still need to install your PCB? Or do I straight away install the wiring harness to gear selector will do?
Are there problems with the bus system or the like after this conversion Do I understand correctly, this kit can be retrofitted if you don't have any working (fixed) keys=?
it does not communicate with the car through any other channels other than the ones used by the stock center console buttons. everything the bus system sees is an OEM signal

Hi my F30 has the normal cruise control, if i fit this kit will my cruise control no longer work? What is difference between adaptive and normal cruise control?
