When you're ready, take your current bird with you to the adoption center or bird store. Let him show you which bird - if any - he likes. Give him full veto power, too. It will pay off!
I just got a friend for my bird last week. It’s been touch and go but last night after a couple of spats they preened one anther. It brought me such joy to see my boy making a new friend. I’m hoping it will get better and better and his lonely days sitting alone will once again be full of joyful preening, snuggling and play. Thanks again for this beautiful video!

Wonderful!! I have a sun conure & a GCC, who I wish every day will get to this point. My sweet Atari, GCC just wants to snuggle & be friends but Theia attacks. Our fights have been a lot worse than yours but they have calmed down in the last couple months. Both of my birds are flighted. Atari has only been here 5 months, so I think we’re making good progress.
I had to get through to my green cheek with musical tones and dancing around the room. We were able to connect and then bond as she curiously would follow back and forth on her cage bobbing her head and immigrating me. It took her and me months of this daily dancing and singing with her for about five minutes a day, and then one day, she got so jealous of my other green cheeks giving me attention, she just started to sit on my shoulder and give me nudges. She was always distant and never trusted me fully but the curiosity got to her and finally she now let's me touch her head when it's dark in the room at bedtime. Any other time during the day, she will still attack my fingers, but it's a start! But as soon as I start dancing and singing, she stops what she's doing and comes over to dance and sing with me. Crazy.
So cute ! I just found your videos. I have 3 green cheeks as well and we’re going through a bit of what you’re going through. I have 6 total parrots and for a long time NONE got along. Recently my green cheek Pepsi has started getting along great with my girl beanie, however our poor beanie would love to have babies with him and he’s not having it ! We recently introduced a third baby to our group and we get the two ganging up on him, poor thing. Hot and cold. They get along sometimes, not others. We’re working on it !! Loved seeing this video, gave my some ideas for introducing them some more. (Not the other parrots, just the cheekies lol)
That last bit was absolutely adorable with the way Delphi was in your shirt with foot up. I have a rehome. Previous owner didn’t want him. Said he was mean and sold him off to the local pet shop. I can’t touch him. He bites, hard. He understands English though and does what I want him to when I want him to. Like go in his cage or fly to my shoulder or training perch etc. Just wish I could tough him.
I think Fred the lutino cockatiel is very jelly he is a lonely birb after his sister passed away when she was 12 now he's going to be 20 on the new month
Seems to me Delphi was just unsure and did not know what to do around other birds, so she tried to keep them away and protect herself. But then Zola tought her how to behave. ^^ So cute when they cuddle together! I am so happy for all of you! :)
Awww..I was so happy to see how their story turned out. I am a pet parent to 9 + (so far, two new babies have hatched this week) GCCs. And, I have a divided room between 2 groups. A few years ago, I introduced 2 new GCCs to my 3 that I had for a few years. It didn’t go well and the two groups dislike each other. So, I have to divide the room with 2 sets of everything. Oh, and a year ago, I got a new GCC and she’s not accepted by either group. I’m sure you’ll agree these GCCs sure do make life interesting..🦜🦜🦜❤️❤️❤️
Hello Julia recently me and my wife lost two of our five conures . Sweepea and BeeBee both primarily my wife’s conures but both Fids to us both . We have had Sweepee for 15 years and BeeBee for 7 years and are very much a big loss in our lives. I stumbled across your video of bringing Delphi home and it very much helped me with copping with my loss . I have a flock of three conures and two white cap pionus I made a room for them in our home . Our Sweepee and BeeBee live’s up in our bed room (they did not get along with other conures ) . So we have two rainbow conures and two Green cheek conures and one male Rose from Conure . My two cage mates are female rainbow Bella and Green check Nippy they are in my bird room my boy rose from PeeWee sleeps and hangs in my room ( I can not sleep in same room as my wife I flale and snore to much ) Sorry for long story thank you for your videos they help me with my loss and maybe I can get my wife to watch so she can move forward .
Thank you so much for sharing that video. I have 4 conures and every one of them has a enemy among the other three. While we often supervise and break beak wrestling, we may have to let them handle it within themselves now and see what happens. We realized that some of their agressivity comes from possessiveness of their favorite person, which could have been the case with Delphi.
I've had kakariki that tought each other. That was extremely intersting to me (ethologist as I am). And to sit and watch them teach each other is good for the soul. I could do it for long times. If they were going to sleep, they had to grind their beaks carefully and quietly, talk a little bit...very quietly....squeeking, peeping etc. Then they went to sleep. It was the best part of the day. They were almost criminally cute.
I also gt 3 conures exactly same like urs... yellow sided,pineapple and turquoise conure... my YSC always fight with pineapple conure but after that they kiss each other.. so cute....i put 3 of them in the 1 cage.. 🥰
Seems like the perfect situation. I'm assuming your working or school. I had to re-home my halfmoon conure because I couldn't be there for her. Glad you found her buddies and you still get the cuddles.
Delphi reminds me of my GCC that flew away I can’t find her but anyways she HATED toes and loved mirrors and wood and was very playful and weird her/his name was chica
These look exactly like my three sun conures. I have the same problem. Now the original outcast (the pineapple) has befriended my oldest bird, and my yellow sided green cheek is the new outcast has paired up with me. Crazy.
you have 3 green cheeks, try 6...it was tough in the beginning but I got good results if I had a bath bowl for all to use and put it in a neutral spot. I still have one that won't associate well but it is sometimes a thing that happens. And I also have two sun conures talk about noisy...lol. But I wouldn't give any away for any price. Enjoy the magic of these crazy birds.
We have two Conure but for one mounts ago we where giving a cute little Undulat that become friend with our male Conure.Our female Conure was not so happy about this! Our little Undulat Chappy drouend in the toilet by a accidentent.But now Kimi and Deco are making a good friendship whit eachothers.. It takes a little time to understand how this little birds works.......
I have 4 parakeets, one moment they are attacking each other and then they are kissing each other. My neighbors were getting married and my dad said at one moment they will be kissing and at the second moment they will be fighting like the birds it was really funny 😊
I've had problems with angry birds (pune intended), but the problem never went away, so I had to re-home a few birds. But it's good that it can work out some times. Makes me happy. And when you wrote you were almost in tears.....I believe you. It hurts so bad when the animals you are in charge of don't feel at least ok if not fantastic. I haven't had a bird that plucks too much yet, but if that happens I will be inconsolable for a long time. Hope it never happens.

My conures seem to bond better when they were bathing and near a dish of water.
