    Absolutely love the 389 model. Only thing I would add is the passenger side work station/pop out (like on the 579). Be handy for working on a laptop or paperwork in the comfort of the seat.

      @SteveCarbone  7 лет назад

      The only workstation available in the 389 is the one in this video. They are great.

      This is the last year for pre-emission gliders so if that is your plan I would suggest getting that plan rolling.

His drive away service is $405 per vehicle. youd have to talk to him about expenses etc. but he just had a few of his drivers deliver 4 axle dump trucks to the gas drilling work in Pennsylvania so

      GOD as much as I would love to get a glider and put a 6NZ Cat in it the concern of having a truck that could be limited on states or companies it could be used at due to goverment regulations now or in the future means you could be building a truck that wont be able to earn a living.

    Do you have to have 18 speed for 2050 torque? How much torque can 13 speed handle? Great info about turning horsepower up after warranty.

    • @SteveCarbone
      @SteveCarbone  7 лет назад

      They do 13 or 18 in the big torque transmissions. Yeah, didn't want to get to specific on the video but roughly $4k to go from 565 to 605 and only about $1500 to go from 1850 to 2050, its a no brainer.

    Hello Steve, Hard inquiries can hurt a persons credit score, how do you keep from applying from a lot of banks to keep that from happening? Is there a curtain bank that you prefer to use for those that have scores higher than average versus with people that have lower credit scores? As to keep from jumping all around? I'm ready to buy and my scores are 695/725 respectively, I'll can put $30K or more if necessary down, also can I bring in my own bank and purchase the truck out right thru my bank? As with any buyer, we are trying to get the best deal along with best terms and rates as possible. I'm not gonna buy my first truck from anyone except you, because of the way you like to set them up, they are essentially turn key. Thanks.

      But Steve you have to admit: Cat is the best. I've heard about people buy a glider kit, then get a brand new cat c15 industrial engine, than rebuild them, so they can be used as an OTR engine. Great thinking, I think. But the X15 Cummins is a damn good engine, too. Interestingly the X15 would have even better performance with European diesel in it, because diesel in Europe is "stronger". The perfect example is the newest Detroit DD16, which is exactly the same 15.6 liter engine, that we use in Mercedes trucks. Here the most powerful one has 625 hp and 2307 lb-ft (3000Nm) while in America it can only make 600 hp and 2050lb-ft (2808Nm).

      Not from the factory but lots of great ideas in some of the forums...

      Can you even buy a tube TV these days? The factory has got to start thinking about that when designing the layout of the interior's

    Why do the new peterbilt shave two different steps

    • @7viewerlogic670
      @7viewerlogic670 7 лет назад +1

      Exhaust treatment stuff for emissions is in the passenger side step.

    • @SteveCarbone
      @SteveCarbone  7 лет назад +1

      The 2018 step is different from the 08-17 step because the DPF filter has been reworked. 40% smaller and 60% lighter much simpler design.

    2018 Cascadia with sleeper lounge with dinette and lighting is amazing, I guess peterbilt are cheaper to buy, other wise I don't know why anyone buy a 2018 peterbilt over a 2018 Cascadia

    • @SteveCarbone
      @SteveCarbone  7 лет назад +1

      That's an understandable point of view. Peterbilt is not cheaper, Freightliner is cheapest truck available. Peterbilt has the best resale of any brand and is #1 with owner operators coast to coast.
