Steve this is another great looking truck, was just thinking, Could you imagine a 579 like this done up with the Brown metallic and Brown tanks like that 389? Good Lord that would be beautiful!
I've noticed on a couple of these vids when you show the engine spec. label it says "Fuel rate a advert. H.P. 299". Just wondering what that is about. Always great trucks and always great videos to show them! Thanks for both!
Peterbilt needs to come up with a bigger bunk over 78". I know a lot of drivers like these for coolness factor. I'm friends with a retired Human Resources Employee and have done the factory tour but as a leader in industry they need to step up for owner operators out on the road for long periods. A 90 or 100 should be an option. Same thing for KW who is already doing a better job for comfort.
Steve brother thanks a bunch Suggestion be a good idea if also in your demos u sit on driver seat and record the view outwards towards front. When buying new truck that's a must do b4 purchase.😉
Hey Steve, Love you man, love your videos and love the way you spec out your trucks. You are so well spoken. Only problem is, We can't hear you! Wind noise kills half of your presentation. Maybe switch to a dedicated camCorder with a wind and noise suppressed microphone. I know, you're in one of the windiest places in the country. Maybe do a voice over. Just trying to be supportive, man.....
Supposedly have the best wind cancelling headset now but I know its not working. Maybe do voice overs from now on. Time is my biggest enemy and thats another 30 minutes work per video. Thanks for the input, I really do appreciate it.
Hi, can you in some next video do a better tour of storage boxes outside. Also the glove box on the passanger side, and that table would be nice to see.
loved my 579 when i was driving it same interior... very very roomy it doesnt look like it from the outside but lots of room forsure... wish the pacaar motor kept it on the road. oh well
Really luv american trucks and the way everything is driver based. The living quarters is something else compared to my old tin box . If you are giving one away just message me back lol . Love from over the pond !!
Great video as always Steve . Checkout a windscreen for your mic , if it can't work for your mic set up try a video camera shotgun mic they come with the screen .
beautifully spec'd truck. you've sold me on the 579. don't need that much power for what I do , probably 470-480 range and a 13 spd auto. Running 22.5s what ratio would you recommend, pulling dry vans. greatly appreciate all the info in your videos.
Customer walked in while I was editing and ended up selling him a truck. 5 hours later I just forgot I uploaded this video lol. All good now. Thanks for putting me in check.
nice truck , I have had my cdl a with tanker endorsement since 2006 from army transferred. I haven't driven since then. Thinking about buying a truck to be a owner operator to get some government contracts. what's the best why to buy a truck ,new or used? I have excellent credit but I am clueless about the buying process.
Steve like your program subscribed to it but like to know about that 579 Peterbilt grey in color 75 Edition looking for 579 with a 600 Cummings engine that 576 will work fine like to know the asking price on that Peterbilt 2018.
Beautiful machine, thanks for the video. I've known a few people who have been over-the-road truckers, I spent some time as a cover driver for UPS back in the day and have considered driving as an alternative career to my current gig. I basically know nothing about the business, my question is what kind of annual income can an owner/driver of a rig like this expect to make if you have things arranged so you can use it efficiently full-time as a business tool? Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! By best friend's Dad drove for Willis Shaw when we were kids, we always talked about becoming drivers and owning our own ride. Beyond driving locally for UPS for a couple years I never moved on it as a career, but have always kept it in mind.
Love the look of ur exhausts but I also hate the price of fuel and the thought of drag those exhaust pipes cause...Not sure if I'd get the exhaust or not.
As a non trucker, can u tell me the difference between the 579 and 389 models? I know the 389 is more square and aggressive and the 579 is more rounded and aerodynamic, are there any other differences?
I appreciate it, I know the wind is just terrible, doing it in the office is an option but its rare I can stay off the phone long enough to get it done. I will come up with a better plan....
Why do truck and car companies come out with 2018 models when it is still 2017. I never understood that... also love every video. One day I'll have a nice rig of my own
Matthew Maxwell Because people keep on purchasing the vehicles when they come out months before the actual year, customers ask and company’s will provide, if you willing to pay for it.... .....WHY NOT?
Hey steve... I am leasing a 579 Peterbilt from the company i work for. My question is that on my tractor i don't have all the bells and whistles that you have on your tractors. Over time can come to your shop to make my 579 look like some of yours?
Hey Steve! Another wonderful looking rig! I'd been contemplating a 579 in my future instead, but was wondering what price would be like for one of your custom-spec'ed 579s as opposed to a 389 (I know obviously it will vary depending on options) but is there any great price disparity between a custom 389 or 579? Cheers and thanks in advance for the info!
389 is usually much more 'heavier duty'. You can get bigger engines as well on the 389. It all depends on what freight you carrying. If your doing excavators etc, 389. If you are doing produce etc, i'd go 579.
I expect the weight would be different. The 579 has the Metton resin hood an other materials that I suspect would make the weight significantly lighter.
how much does this truck cost? I am just getting started in the trucking career but I can tell I love it so like in 6 months to a year I would be looking for my own truck and be a owner Operator. my first guess would be at least 153,500 some. thanks
Hey Steve-one more time-how much is it????LolCan you spray one candy apple red with dark wine flames and a reaper on the hood with personal plates? How bout dumping it out back with hydraulics???CAN YOU DO THAT TRUCKA STEVE??????? WHERE IS YOUR YARD.I'll take three Steve!Awesome truck and vid brother, thanks!!
The biggest factor for most is a balance between fuel economy and pulling power. The goal usually is to be at a certain RPM at a certain MPH, usually the speed you would be cruising at most often.
Just bought this same truck as my first truck in American Truck Simulator. I may have to get a CDL now.
Peterbilt brand world class !! can not even dream of it owned. thank you very much!!
Awesome, thank you for thinking about the truckers making it more like home.
WOW!! Cool looking truck, fuel milage and class.
Steve this is another great looking truck, was just thinking, Could you imagine a 579 like this done up with the Brown metallic and Brown tanks like that 389? Good Lord that would be beautiful!
Holy cow that would be awesome
theGovnr1
Do u mean like a deap brown or a light brown?
It's a good looking truck, can't wait too see the 2020s
Thanks!
I've noticed on a couple of these vids when you show the engine spec. label it says "Fuel rate a advert. H.P. 299". Just wondering what that is about. Always great trucks and always great videos to show them! Thanks for both!
Excellent video Steve! Blessings!!!
Kinda chuckle when I see other people talking about owner operator specs, I know when I click your videos they are spot on always first class trucks
Hhhhh&&&&&h&&&hh nn&&by hi hi uh uh&&

TMC has these same type of trucks. They really know how to treat their drivers lol
Theirs are similar but no where near the options of this bad boy.
Steve brother thanks a bunch
Suggestion be a good idea if also in your demos u sit on driver seat and record the view outwards towards front.
When buying new truck that's a must do b4 purchase.😉
I like the way the stacks are. I really hate trucks when you cant see them it makes it feel like your driving a huge car
Hey Steve, Love you man, love your videos and love the way you spec out your trucks. You are so well spoken. Only problem is, We can't hear you! Wind noise kills half of your presentation. Steve your truck is clean!
Thank you!
Hi, can you in some next video do a better tour of storage boxes outside. Also the glove box on the passanger side, and that table would be nice to see.
sure will
loved my 579 when i was driving it same interior... very very roomy it doesnt look like it from the outside but lots of room forsure... wish the pacaar motor kept it on the road. oh well
Very roomy for sure
Really luv american trucks and the way everything is driver based. The living quarters is something else compared to my old tin box . If you are giving one away just message me back lol . Love from over the pond !!

Are both of those stacks actually hooked up, or are they like the Kenworth where only the right one is operational?
Very nice truck!

another thing, can you explain those new sleeper controls please, thank you :)
Good looking 579. Still like the 389 better but this looks like a nice cruiser instead of all in your face muscle
Well put!
Corey Butler I hear the 389 comes with the 605 hp. version of the X-15..2050 ft. lbs. tq.
Really awesome truck! This was my choice of truck on American truck simulator! How is driving it in real life??
Best truck ever built..
Que bonito tractocamion algún confiando en Dios tendré uno
Love your videos awsome trucks. Do you have any used 389's for sale?
awesome truck.
My favorite truck on the road today ... stuck on a Volvo , me so sad .
It's it possible to option to have the drip edging removed on the 579 models?
D they do away with the air noise? The other models had a lot of air passing through the cab?
Now that's a beauty
Thanks JD
Awesome truck!!
We agree!
I love that truck!!!!!!
beautiful truck
Beautiful machine, thanks for the video. High end owner operators, and there are plenty of them, make more than most physicians.
you dont want to get into a truck now unless you pay cash electronic logs will kill you come december last thing you want is payments
Thanks for the feedback! By best friend's Dad drove for Willis Shaw when we were kids, we always talked about becoming drivers and owning our own ride. Beyond driving locally for UPS for a couple years I never moved on it as a career, but have always kept it in mind.
Stacie45 were you a package car driver or feeders? What made you leave UPS?
I’d love a 567 specd the same way
Love the look of ur exhausts but I also hate the price of fuel and the thought of drag those exhaust pipes cause...Not sure if I'd get the exhaust or not.
Good thoughts
hello your videos are great. How would you do a dump truck?
I like this truck !
Again what is the price on that Peterbilt 579 you got.
Hi Steve- i need one of these but used- must be 13 speed/ X15 performance.
This is the truck i would buy !!
Steve is this the only Vizer that can be mounted on these 579. Would look a lot better with one of those that you mount on the 389
I do have quite a few options on visors
Can you build a 579 like this same powertrain sleeper and keep it under 18,000 lbs I pull gas tanker and that's the max weight maybe super singles
Yes, I could make that happen with some adjustments
I buy 579 glider with detroit 60 12.7, 13 speed, disc brakes and APU. My grosse is 20500 lb.
Sweet ride👍
Thanks buddy
what transmission come with the 579's ?? would a 10spd be an option or standard
Nothing is standard, you can get basically any transmission you want auto or manual.
As a non trucker, can u tell me the difference between the 579 and 389 models? I know the 389 is more square and aggressive and the 579 is more rounded and aerodynamic, are there any other differences?
Drivetrain is exact same but everything else completely different
Do the voice in the office please, love your video, thanks.
I appreciate it, I know the wind is just terrible, doing it in the office is an option but its rare I can stay off the phone long enough to get it done. I will come up with a better plan....
Nice truck all around
thanks
Wish they had a table option..
Me too
Chris Sucharda Ati sleeper that's what I'm thinking due to my baby girl can't get away from me, got to keep it family friendly, ooh and professional"
Not having a drivers lounge is making me want a VNL or a Cascadia
EXCELLENT VIDEO
Thanks Stevie
Why do truck and car companies come out with 2018 models when it is still 2017. I never understood that... also love every video. One day I'll have a nice rig of my own
I dont know either but guessing its so they can get the price increase sooner, is what it is....
Peterbilt Steve well Put bro I see your honesty.
Matthew Maxwell all marketing to get the hype up
Matthew Maxwell
Because people keep on purchasing the vehicles when they come out months before the actual year, customers ask and company’s will provide, if you willing to pay for it....
.....WHY NOT?
Matthew Maxwell because if the car is made seven months into the year that is why
Very cool truck
Thanks
Beautiful, very beautiful, but very expensive, biggggg $$$$$$$$$$$
I like this truck WOW !
Real nice truck .
Thanks Jim
What can be done for the new guys getting try feet wet for the 1st time buyers and do you have good used trucks and where you located at?
Tulsa, Ok just have to fill out a credit app and see what you are wanting.
Hey steve... I am leasing a 579 Peterbilt from the company i work for. My question is that on my tractor i don't have all the bells and whistles that you have on your tractors. Over time can come to your shop to make my 579 look like some of yours?
Sure can, my guys would be happy to fix you up!
Nice I want one.
Nice n clean
Thanks buddy
Good show, ? what size rear ends you running an manual transmission in this Peatbuilt 579.
18 and 3.36s
Hey Steve! Another wonderful looking rig! I'd been contemplating a 579 in my future instead, but was wondering what price would be like for one of your custom-spec'ed 579s as opposed to a 389 (I know obviously it will vary depending on options) but is there any great price disparity between a custom 389 or 579?

Hey Gregory, if a 579 and a 389 are optioned the exact same, the pricing is very close to the same.
I expect the weight would be different. The 579 has the Metton resin hood an other materials that I suspect would make the weight significantly lighter.
That would seem so but the square footage of a 579 hood is so much bigger, the cab is bigger and the sleeper is bigger.
Peterbilt Steve basically it's down too the aero?
I LOVED IT
this truck is perfect for flatbed.what would be the down pament for this truck?
5-30k depending on credit and history
how much does this truck cost? I am just getting started in the trucking career but I can tell I love it so like in 6 months to a year I would be looking for my own truck and be a owner Operator. my first guess would be at least 153,500 some. thanks
Closer to 162
I really like this truck ,like to knw the price ???
Hey Steve-one more time-how much is it????LolCan you spray one candy apple red with dark wine flames and a reaper on the hood with personal plates? How bout dumping it out back with hydraulics???CAN YOU DO THAT TRUCKA STEVE??????? WHERE IS YOUR YARD.I'll take three Steve!Awesome truck and vid brother, thanks!!
Tulsa my man and we can do anything.....
That must have been one of those "close up" videos ? How about zoom out once in a while ?
What's the fuel mpg
I love it
thanks
What's the difference is M.P.G. of the 579 Vs. 389 if all other things are equal?
Almost identical but a 389 vs 579 with full aero package and electronic limiters is 1-2 mpg better
KW t680 will be better than this one or no?
Does the transmission speed and engine HP matter when considering your ratio? Or is tire size the biggest factor?
The biggest factor for most is a balance between fuel economy and pulling power. The goal usually is to be at a certain RPM at a certain MPH, usually the speed you would be cruising at most often.
Peterbilt Steve, what is that drivetrain setup getting for economy?
nice semi ill take one in black the blackes u can get. how much plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. thx
Around 155k
That's nice...that's real nice.
Good!
How much is one of these trucks going for brand new?
Could Peterbilt incorporate a push to start button and a remote start?
Any aftermarket electronics shop could easily do that
Biggest let down is popping the hood and seeing a Cummins underneath it. God I miss Caterpillar.
Dream world to me .
Nice truck i wish i could buy me a brand new peterbilt truck the 579 is owesome
Thanks!
