There will never be another like Shirley Bassey i miss her not performing anymore such a fantastic performer we were blessed to have had Shirley in our lifetime.
This is one of Shirley's first major appearances after the tragic death of her daughter in 1985. She actually lost her voice due to grief, and had to work with a vocal coach to help her through it, and to get back on stage. During this time with her vocal coach, she actually discovered she had an additional octave in her voice! Shirley Bassey was Barbra Streisand's mother's (Diana) favorite singer.
As someone who's sat in the audience about 12 times at a Shirley Bassey concert the first for my 18th birthday I'm now 62. I can tell you that the swelling in Shirley's voice sometimes sucked the air out of the theatre. Her concerts have been some of the highlights of my life.. songs that you must check out are "the greatest performance of my life " Born to lose" and Natalie.
Happy birthday Patrick🎁🎂 and welcome back. Thank you very much for your great reactions and continuing your Dame Shirley Bassey reactions. She does make you feel good. Best wishes to you!
Happy Happy B day! Thank you for this Check out a old special from 1960 an evening with Shirley I think it was called. Listen to her song Birth of the Blues. She was 23 yrs old. Again enjoy your Burthday your way !
Dame Shirley being awarded Companion Of Honour today at Buckingham Palace by King Charles they have known each other since the 1970's, you will see some video of it on our news channels and probably elsewhere
Welcome back and a very happy birthday 🎂 I hope you enjoy the day and receive everything you wish for. I have sent you quite a few links to different songs and tagged you in on IG with Dame Shirley, Sir Tom, Queen etc so you can see what they've been doing whilst you've been away
Dame Shirley Bassey is as big a star as any singer in America has ever been. And her life story is the stuff of legend. She's not my favourite singer - but her vocal power, resonance, and stage presence are something else. Check out her performance of "The Party's Over." It's got her magic. Happy Birthday!!!
Damn you worked hard this week-end with all those videos released. Congrats. Please more of The new queen of Pop Miss Lady Gaga and the New Princess of Pop Miss Dua Lipa. No shade but Madonna and Britney did their time...Gaga and Dua are dominating Pop music right now. Let's celebrate them !

I loved your reaction to my compatriot, KD Lang. Her rendition of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah'. I am pretty sure I love you. I am pretty sure.

The composer of this song said that Shirley Bassey's version of this song was better than that of anyone else.
Happy YOUday!
You should listen to her version of "Solitaire" too
Love Shirley, but you will never hear it better than when Judy Dench perfoms it 😉
No one sings this better than Barbra Streisand but I still love Shirley

Try Sissel.
The singing voice is not key to mastering this song. After all, it was written specifically for an actress, Glynis Johns, not a singer.
