What the heck… she doesn’t even seem to breathe hard after that massive run… she is a beast and I am looking forward to seeing more medals and wins from her
All Naturally good distance runners are people with High VO2 max(the amount of oxygen you can intake), massive lungs in small bodies too. with long legs, and a drive to succeed ofc. Which i think all of those things are true for her
@@anderstauschristensen9184 Still, i would expect them to atleast be a bit winded after a race! Even Jakob Ingebrigtsen slumps over after a race. This girl just seems like she is out on a sunday run. Wow.
😮 I am a bicycle racing fan. Her sudden dominance makes me think of Lance Armstrong and his performance enhancing drug use. No one wanted to believe it (especially me) but there it was.
Katelyn Tuohy is a great athlete--the national press ignores her--but I don't know if there is a better athlete in America with her determination, her competitive spirit, her work ethic.
It's fun seeing this again. With the indoor 1500, mile and 3000 records, the last likely to stand up for a while, you know she's looking at Jenny Simpson's outdoor 5000 of 15:07.64. And her next opportunity to break that will be this coming weekend, May 6, at the Track Fest- Sound Running meet, where she will be in a fast field that includes her friends Elly Henes and Whittni Orton Morgan. Simpson's record will be 14 years, 4 days old on May 6.
@@M.O.G. (Writing on Aug 22, 2023) Hard to say. She did go on to run 15:03 at Track Fest breaking Simpson's venerable record. And, after a disappointing NCAA, she ran seventh in the 5000 at the USAs, the only collegian in the race and better than two thirds of the pros. She decided to return to State at least for the cross season in her chronological senior year, although she has the credits to graduate plus extra covid eligibility. Astonishingly, according to the roster posted a few weeks ago, the Wolfpack has Chmiel, Bush and Moreno returning as grad students! That means Henes will be able to line up the 1st, 3rd, 9th (transfer from Alabama Amaris Tyynismaa) 15th and 29th finishers in their 2022 NCAA D1 cross champs. This could be historic. I am clinging to the hope that the presence of her, by all accounts, extremely attentive and supporting boyfriend Jake Toomey, also a Wolfpack runne, may convince KT to stay for the spring season, to graduate with her class, and to deal with unfinished business. That would be Simpson's collegiate outdoor 1500 record of 3:59, and Sisson's indoor 5000 record of 15:12.22, which will be ten years old come the Millrose Games. I think there is a strong argument that Katelyn can achieve more by cementing her collegiate legacy as the GOAT by potentially owning the indoor 1500, mile, 3000 and 5000 and the outdoor 1500 and 5000, than pursuing the will-o'-the wisp hope of a spot at the Paris Olympics, where she basically has zero chance to podium. Her year is 2028, when she could realistically podium.
Katelyn barring any injuries will go down in history as the greatest ever female runner!... it's not that she is just a good runner, she is other Worldly!!!
We’ll see. So far, our American runners are no where on par with the African ladies in distance running. There are way more American girls interested in it now from a young age, so that could change.
All girls did think, that nobody can keep this tempo in this distance. This remind me of a horse race fifty years ago, the “ Triple Crown “ where a horse named Secretariat defied all rules or defied gravity? Brake the record and a lots of horse breeders hearth. Or just their proud? thankfully she is not a horse, but a delightful young Lady, who will break not only other records but many young dudes hearth. Remember my words, she will break even more Olympic records than anyone before!
Alla tuohy non bisogna mai inseguirla altrimenti si fa la fine della ragazza di colore che per tutta la gara era in seconda posizione e agli ultimi 100 metri arriva in quinta posizione.
It's gotta be awkward being a high school runner and some grown man is constantly screaming about how amazing you are over the loudspeaker the whole race. Katelyn probably looked embarrassed at her opponents.
Yeah and never once said anything about the girl in 2nd place who was running a fantastic race as well... She basically running against the clock... Yeah we know that bro but girl number 2 just got reminded.

Nice. Haven't seen this race of Katelyn's before. Amazing young lady. Thanks

I believe she should just do the 1500 and 3000 to avoid burnout and career ending injuries.

well the world mile women's record is 4:7.64 so she has no less than 26 seconds to find to match that
Her stride is amazing; it didn't shorten at all.
Always a delight to watch Katelyn run.
She doesn't run, she glides.
We finally get to see the race ending after all these years.
You did not watch it live way back when it happened?
@@todallard8791 nope.the original video that has over a million views doesn't show the ending except Kaitlyn.
@@onetwothreefour-s1n I watched the live broadcast and did not miss anything, the vod is not the same thing.

go Katelyn
This is a monster!! Wow 🤩
woo, she beat my pr in highschool. this girl is fire!
I forgot how badly the second place runner blew up. I think it was 95 degrees.
No one should be running distance in 95°, that's just not healthy.
amazing
Ragazzi.che atleta fenomenale. Non ho abbastanza parole per elogiare questa bella ragazza semplice.
Watching her smile all the way across the line brought me to tears.

Katelyn : la bombe humaine ! Le turbo réacteur ! Quelle athlète !
What's with the numbers on her legs?
That was a spectacular blow-up by the girl in yellow who was second for most of the race.
4:50 and change for runners 7 through 5; 4:49 and change for runners 4, 3 and 2; Tuohy: 4:33 and change! What's she got in her shoes--rockets?
Im a huge Kaitlyn fan but 😂
Was this her Dad or Uncle commentating on the race 😲😂😂🤣
No, just a typical idiot they have at these events. Judging by what a good sport Touhey is it’s highly likely her relatives are pretty good too
Irish genes in the Tuohy ,Connolly, and Mc Cardell(maybe scots/Irish)name 🙂great running by Tuohy
Tuohy, Connolly, McCardell, Irish names.🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
She's like "I'll be the pacer..."
And not one of them has a beard .
😅amen to that!
I’ve raced on that track for aau my least favorite I

Yeah I think it would be better if he waited untill the race is over.
Or, maybe she get her Kicks from it... Who knows!
