People act like that ALL THE TIME - you’d be amazed. At weddings, my hotel offers each guest two wine glasses, with the idea that one will hold water and the other either red or white wine. Just for ease of service and presentation, we generally use a bigger glass for red and a smaller one for white. The amount of people who complain about how the red-wine drinkers get the bigger glass is unbelievable, and also that they’re not entitled to have both types of wine (who would want both types of wine anyways?!). Absolute madness.

Actually, I had a teacher who super glue his cuts because he had a phobia of hospitals and doctors. He was just like. "Yeah, I fell and the hook dragged into my arm then down my elbow. I just cleaned it then found some super glue in my car. Boom, now I got a scar."
He awesome and now I know. Super glue or glue will work.

I was trying to use scissors when I was 8 then It slid and I ended up having a big slit in my finger and when I pulled it back I could see the bone and all the blood I managed to call my mom and my brother came home as well and he fainted when he saw my finger..... But it was just stitches : )

Not a lie. I’m the one in the video, it’s called Transglutaminase, we use it to fuse 2 pieces of meat together.
We use meat glue for a pork belly roll, at the place I work. It is also called chef rubber. Personally I stock super glue for stuff like that.

If somethings is out of your hands like some eedjit setting off the fire alarm, threatening your prep (do we have enough ingredients for these extra 20 dishes / will we be able to avoid long waits?...) suddenly the situation impacts 30 + people and becomes a lot more difficult to control.
When you’re in a stressful situation, you make up contingency plans. If a plate gets drops, i have a way to send out another before the other dishes at that table grow cold. If i cut my finger, i put something absorbent over it then tape a glove around my wrist if the bleeding is a bit heavy so at least it doesn’t get onto the food... when something random like those sprinklers happens, you’re just caught aback... not a pleasant feeling

I've had so many "horrific" injuries that healed rather well.
I once got dragged all the way home from a convenience store until my friends home, i was shirtless, they were draggin me around by the ROADS, it was at night, and i was full of bruises when i came back, but today, you can't even see a damm thing. So yeah, i could say that getting scars is harder than you think
I cut about 2mm of my left pointer finger off along with the nail. I have a scar through the flesh to this day. You can clearly see where the stitches were.
I worked in a seasonal restaurant and my first day back for the season (with a new chef and sous chef) I cut the tip of my pinkie off while cutting onions. I was so scared that they were going to scream at me for cutting my finger within the first like 2 hours of being there that I ran to the bathroom with blood no joke shooting out of my finger with a dirty ass cleaning rag that I randomly grabbed on the way and I bled all over the (incredibly small and dark) staff bathroom. I patched myself up and immediately had to clean up the large pool of blood and random splatters that were covering the bathroom and toilet seat (where I sat fearing that I was gonna pass out from fear and panic) and sanitize all that all the while stressing that they were gonna realize I wasn’t at my station and that I was gone for a while. I got a glove, had to throw out all of the onions on my cutting board (luckily it wasn’t many as I had just cleared it) and get a new cutting board. I continued to work until almost midnight (restaurant/bar life) and I had to change my bandage like 10 times because I kept looking down and seeing that I had bled into the glove. Still have a funky scar with crazy nerve damage (not to mention the psychological damage from working with an insane cocaine addicted chef in a kitchen that was wayy to small and understaffed for nearly 80 tables)
Also while the above insane chef was in culinary school, he broke his head chefs nose because he didn’t knock before flying out of the walk-in and slammed the heavy metal insulated door right into his face 😂
@@alyssarose286 oof. My chef specifically got sliding walk in doors just so there's no chance of that happening lmao. Also mood with the whole finder thing. I once sliced really deep into my thumb while slicing tomatoes. As in bone deep. I was bleeding so much that I went through so much gause and bandages and gloves that I ended up duct taping it. Went to the hospital after work, got stitches, went back to work the next day.
Lachlan Nix in hindsight I should’ve went to the hospital for stitches because it bled for over a day. But at least now I have a fun story when people ask me why my pinkie is so flat on the top 🤷🏻♀️
I work front of house for a restaurant and I have mad respect for those in back of house. They work their ass off and don’t get enough recognition.

Haha that meat glue story was hilarious.. similar thing happened to me: sliced bone deep into my index finger but just wrapped it up and pretended like nothing happened.. it healed and now it's like nothing ever happened.

That first lady is exactly like my dad. He tried to get away with not telling my mum that he sliced part of his finger off with the lawnmower blade. Needless to say, mum found out, wasn’t impressed and drove him straight to hospital. He needed plastic surgery, yet he believed he could get away with using nothing but a tissue to stop the bleeding!

That's what happened to me when I was 10 years old. I was cutting onions for a school project and got distracted. At first it didn't hurt... let's say I have not been into a kitchen without an adult- I am 13. It is traumatizing and I could really relate to the lady
I can relate to Yolie. When I was in Culinary school, I was slicing some lemon grass and I got distracted, a college asked me a question. I didn’t even notice when I sliced a pretty good chunk of the tip of my thumb off 😳 until a friend freaked out...! I didn’t feel it. Chef knives are spark AF! I was in shock still no pain. After an hour and in the ER I started to feel the pain. Sucky part is that the tip that got cut off wasn’t in a Ice bag so now when I look at my thumb it looks a bit shorter than my other thumb 😂 I can now laugh it off. But it does happen! When I tell people, seeing their reactions is hilarious to me now, lol.
I chopped off my finger tip too cutting tomatoes and talking to my co worker lol got scared I'd have a chunk of finger gone but it actually grew back lol

I cut off like maybe almost half of it, I could see all the layers of my fingerprints all the way down and cleaned it, wrapped it and slowly but surely it healed back to a perfect round finger tip! Lol after I cut it, it was literally like a slant of a straight line.

i worked in a kitchen as the chef de party and we had a cook put a full hotel pan of water on the top shelf of our steaming box and not tell anyone...the next cook came in and wondered what it was, so they pulled it out rapidly and spilled boiling water all over their arm melting off more skin than I care to tell (look up caul fat and that's what it looked like) almost to the bone...3 months of skin graphs and plastic surgery....haunts me to this day

The moment she started taking of how she dealt with the situation after cutting her finger off I had my jaw down the entire time...
One time I was peeling a mango and I peeled a piece off the side of my finger but i didn't peel it completely so the skin was just kind of hanging. I was scared to take it off so I stuck it back on and it actually stayed so I wrapped it with a napkin and kept peeling the mango. The mango tasted good by the way.

Ah a video I can relate to. I was a chef in the US Navy a long time ago and was dicing apples as fast as I could go because my actual dicer was broken. And I cut the tip of my thumb off. But it's ok because I found the tip that I lost, grabbed a towel and wrapped my thumb, and I went to medical. I had blood all over me and someone saw me and escorted me to medical. They though I lost my whole finger, but just the tip. They glued it back on with some medical glue. I went back to the galley and threw all my hard work away and had to start over. Next day I burned my entire hand (same hand) and my hand is still scarred to this day. It was a rough week. And my thumb looks like it has a massive blister thing on top. I'll tell you tho, I never did that again. And many years later I am here still professionally cooking.

here’s my own story. so when i was six and when my little brother was three we would always go outside. one day my dad was cutting callaloo to cook for diner. my little brother went up to my dad and distracted him causing my father to accidentally cut his hand off. my little brother had to get surgery.

Every one is talking about how gluing her finger on and not going to the hospital. But when I cut my knuckle off after that day if work I did go to a care center and that's exactly what the nurse did. Cleaned it up slapped a bunch of glue on and a finger cast and sent me home.

Like the time it was New Years. And I’m a professional hairstylist! I can color my friends hair after smoking weed and then have champagne... so I was doing the hilights.. going to tone i usually add a drop of black. (Like less than 1% of formula) to my grey blondes more “grey”. Welp I added a drop of blonde to black🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. It took awhile to get her back blonde the next day... sober and very apologetic.
Then there’s the time a girl came in to get a Brazilian. Morbidly obese woman very nervous. (I am known for people to feel comfortable when I’m waxing them) Started towel placement to keep her comfortable. When getting to buttocks I have her roll on side and lift a cheek. 😯 it was like pulling apart two pieces from bread with peanut butter and Nutella. I quickly said I had to use the bathroom urgently, and told her that I couldn’t proceed due to being sick. Sadly I don’t think she knew.. she was too large to even wipe properly. 🤢🤦🏼♀️

One time I was on pasta and we had a full book, the dining room is buzzing, the bar is full and we’re confused because we’re not getting any tickets. All of a sudden a server comes back and asks why we’re all standing around and that his tables have been waiting a half hour for their food. Turns out, the printer had run out of paper and when we finally fixed it, it didn’t stop printing tickets until 11pm. Worst night of my life 😂
I almost cut off the tip of my thumb too. I was working as a prep cook at the time. It didn’t fall completely off but it was close. I did go home after that though I didn’t try and tough it out.
