I think the most mund blowing thing about this show is how everything and everyone is connected. Every character has a connection from their real life to the real life of another character and these revelations slowly come into light throughout the run of the series. After watching as it aired, I waited a few years then watched them all back to back until finished. It was a long series, but fantastic. I've watched the X Files at least 4 rounds. Just an entirely different series. I would say that Agent Scully's character is compared to Sawyer. If they killed them off, many viewers would lose interest. Agent Mulder was like Kate or Jack. I got involved with The Walking Dead. The first 2 seasons were awesome. It went downhill from there. When they removed Rick, I decided to quit.
When Shannon translates the message from Russeau and they work out that it's been on a loop for 16 years... That was tight. Nothing will fill the void that lost left when it finished 😪
I still, to this day, cannot watch the last 20 minutes of the series finale without crying. And I don't mean a tear rolling down my face...I mean ugly, snotty, crying my eyes out. Favorite show ever.
rewatched it for the sec time and it was worth it alldayy last ep dont care whatt u are u must ive cried one of the best shows i really did get lost in it!!!!!
I think Lost was the first show that really made me at least "feel". It's wonderfully flawed, complex, multifaceted characters who you eventually come to love. Every one of them. You rooted and cheered for them. And how upsetting when one of them died cause they all felt like your friends and family. This brought back all those emotions and feelings:( To this day no other show has truly made me "feel" in that sense. Truly one of a kind show!
Amen. There's television before lost, and television after lost for me. Lost both upped the game for television, yet ruined it at the same time because nothing will ever completely fill that void.
The most shocking scene to me was seeing that the man in black was posing as Locke and it wasn't really Locke. It was also a relief because I didn't want to see Locke become a bad guy
Wonder why they never gave Jacob's brother a name. I l think Jacob and his brother represent God and the Devil especially with the analogy to John's black and white backgammon pieces and the stones found on the scale in Jacob's cave. These were probably meant as a metaphor for the balance of good and evil. When Jacob's brother removes the white stone from the scale after he had just had him killed, he tells sawyer that it was an inside joke between him and his brother Jacob, meaning that good failed and evil had overcome.
The Constant is by far my favorite episode of lost. Desmond jumping through time is just too interesting for me. I've always wondered what it would be like to go to sleep and wake up with my head on my desk in elementary school or something lol
@@metzger5850I honestly loved his character. He could play a really intimidating and strong villain at one moment, then an honestly really good comedic relief the next moment.
OriginalFenix8 I cannot even explain the utter shock and terror and goosebumps my body was going through on that episode like it was explaining and flashbacking until you realized that they were being buried alive I’m literally crying rn becuase it was one of the most intense moments of my life I was shaking and I screamed at the end of that episode when she opened her eyes in the grave omg I’m shaking
you guys seriously dropped the ball by not including the twist that the resurrected Locke was really the man in black. it was one of the biggest twists of the whole show.
Yes it was, but I still have mixed feelings about that aspect of the show. Having Locke dead so long before the show actually ended kind of ruined the impact and importance of his character. I guess it's true that he was ultimately responsible for getting them all back to the island, but the fact that he wasn't there and part of the events himself just doesn't sit so well with me.
I disagree! John was the catalyst not only for the Oceanic 6 to go back to the island but for Jack to finally understand his purpose. I think he’s the most important character in the show and his death doesn’t change that at all!
Oh man, I miss this show SO SO SO much. Everything about it was just stunningly good. • *Incredible acting* • *Excellent and inspired deep storylines* • *Gorgeous cinematography* _(Please click Read More guys, Lost deserves me to say more!_ • *Beautiful (and very much underrated/under-appreciated) music* • *Intelligent and insightful cliffhangers* • *Lovable and fascinating character construction* To be honest I could go on all night, but I cannot express how much I adore and miss this show. From the age of 13, on the very first day the pilot aired - my life changed forever. *SEE YOU IN ANOTHER LIFE, BROTHER!* (I am from the UK, like Desmond!)
I still remember the night I watched the pilot episode. I was in high school at the time, flipping through channels at random (those were the days) and I happen to land on ABC just seconds before the show started playing. I was glued to my seating, knowing very little about this show before hand and I couldn't look away. Tonight, I am starting my rewatch with some friends after a decade, one of which is coming to it for the first time.
What music? The only time I remembered any music (apart from the repeating tune across all seasons) was the end of S01E03 when Walt is reunited with his dog and the song is playing on Hurley's walkman "Joe Purdy - Wash Away". That's an amazing moment.
@@yute-hube779 There were over 350 songs featured in LOST. Some of the most memorable songs from the show include "Make Your Own Kind of Music" by Mama Cass Elliot, "Wash Away" by Joe Purdy, "Shambala" by Three Dog Night, and "Downtown" by Petula Clark, among many others.
The Island was real, the baby was from their time in purgatory. Because they were chosen by Jacob, they had to meet up in the afterlife before passing on to heaven.
The first scene of season two where we see Desmond go through his daily routine and then we realize that he’s in the hatch was one of the craziest moments for me.
I just finished this show again and it’s hurting my heart. The show is so amazing and the storyline itself is just beautifully written. The ending especially with the reference of the beginning scene with jacks eye opening and when his eye closes as the last scene. This show made me feel so many emotions and I will definitely watch it again.
Elizabeth Lynch I watched the show when it first premiered in 2004 I was 8 year old. Fact I learned English by watching the show therefore in 2010 I never understood the ending mind blowing isn’t? Now during quarantine time I’m watching it again end of season 3 currently. One of the best tv shows I have ever watched.
When Ben sorrowfully admits he’s going with “Locke” because he’s the only one who’ll have him. “I’ll have you,” said Ilana. Ben follows her like an injured puppy.
LOST had so many amazing moments that ANY one of them is worthy of being in the top ten. 10: Ben's Confession. This was the part when Ben explained why he killed Jacob 9: To the Hatch: Jack and Locke's talks destiny towards the hatch 8: Reunited: Penny finds the Oceanic 6 along with Frank and Desmond. 7: Juliet Intro: The Season 3 intro that shows that everything we thought we knew of the Others is wrong 6: Talking with the Dead: The part where Hurley speaks for Richard's dead wife. 5: Moving Island: Ben moves the Island 4: Ben's Revenge: Where Ben kills Keamy 3: Where it all began: The plane Crash 2: The Call: Where Jack calls the boat 1: We Have To Go Back: The Season 3 finale twist.
Dude, I know it's been four years, but I have to agree with number 7 so much, that dead comments need to be revived :D That moment when we realised: that beautiful woman, listening to that beautiful song (with electricity!), living in that beatiful village was right there all along... My jaw dropped and never really completely got back up till today O.o :D
The title of this is misleading. It's a list of top 10 best moments. If it was really a list of top 10 most insane moments like it says it is then it would have to include the scene where Ben talks Locke out of hanging himself and then strangles him to death, obviously.
I can't even describe how it was for watching Lost at that time. Magical, to say the least. Never seen something like that before. "We have to go back" is probably the most shocking scene in a season finale I've ever watched.
Watching all these amazing story plots helped me remember how incredible Lost was. Just a fantastic show. Seemed like almost every episode had an intense cliffhanger. Absolutely fantastic writing, acting and music.
This was one of the best tv shows ever made. Everything was perfect....writing, directing, acting, cinematography, location, story, etc....long live Lost.
I also don't understand why so many people hate the ending, I think it was good, really dramatic, but happy end. I suppose many people didn't understand it.
James Ford Yeah nearly everybody hated the ending but I really liked it. I thought it was actually a brilliant ending. Yeah a lot of people didn't understand it, people thought that they had been dead all along, which wasn't the case.
@@nafeesahussain9175 true most the characters were amazing but other shows definitely compare for me lost was amazing until S4 after that it was all nonsense and ridiculous, seasons 1 and 3 were definitely amazing
@@lifeisberserk9566 nonsense? s5 was one the best. S6 was a bit low for me but even by that definition LOST will always be the show with the best character ensemble. I think thats what people mean when they say it was unlike any other tv show experience. Each character left a mark, they connected with the audience and it was an emotional bond like no other. May be because the characters were all broken and human and had a back story. LOST as a creative experience was indeed a lightning in a bottle
The thing a lot of people - especially those that dislike the ending or dislike the show BECAUSE of the ending - got wrong about the show: It was never about the mysteries or how it would end. That was interesting and fun to watch, sure. But it was always about the characters and their journey. Sure there was a ton of stuff that got us hyped but was never properly explained (Walt) and a lot of character deaths that just seemed dumb and out of nowhere (but were often the result of real life issues with the actors/actresses, like the actor who played Mr Eko wanted out of the show), but in the end the show had great characters, it made me laugh, it made me cry, shocked me with it's genuinely good twists, entertained me with great acting and good action and was overall probably the most fun I ever had watching a TV show from start to finish without ever really being bored by an episode. So the good definetely outweighs the bad for me.
I know this comment is 2 years old but just thought I'd add that I think you can actually include Walt in the second category of having to be abandoned due to real life issues - He went through puberty and got huge so they couldn't really bring him back.
yep lol more of you social outcast morons assuming others have a lower intelligence because they were able and unwilling to just accept massive flaws in the plot and how the creators had no idea wtf they were doing from the very start XD yeh na we are just too dumb to just clap and cry at a fictional show that makes no sense and to the point that the last season was half filled with meaningless purgatory boring bullshit and about 4 mystery's answered out of the 5,000 they threw out there for no reason other than to make morons think its mysterious, and not just shit....but yeh no, great show with no flaws...its not like today directors reference lost as a insult meaning "just make shit up and phone it in with a shit last season thats overwhelmingly hated by the majority
So well said! All of the good points that you made were what kept me loving that show even when the final episode was over and I was pondering what the hell I had just witnessed. I never knew about the actor who played Mr. Eko not wanting to stay in the show longer. He was one of my favorites on the island.
What I love the most about Lost is when each character make absurd/idiosyncratic decisions, and in that moment they'll have their backstories or context that made them decide such thing. Not only it does show the realism of their human nature, but it also highlights the quality of the writing. Also, the casting for the younger versions is impressively accurate; it makes the transition seamless and authentic. Best show for me.
I love number 9, Ben understanding that he can't manipulate everyone. I love how the series shows the complexity of human beings, the influence of their stories in their lives and decisions and messes up with your head and feelings
Also, John Locke's murder by Ben Linus. Every time you thought Benjamin had turned over a new leaf to redeem himself, he shocked you once more with the darkness which had been infused into him by the manipulations of Jacob and the Man in Black...
My favorite season is DEFINITELY season five. I love the time travel and the plot. (Spoiler:) When Juliet died I cried for ages. Elizabeth Mitchell is SUCH a good actress.
there is a thing about LOST, first time you watch it on TV, you miss pretty much everything, since you think you are watching survival TV Show. Definetely watch it once more and pay attention to most of the details.
This series really came full circle starting with Jack and Vincent and ending with them too. Honestly I was kinda sad when Vincent wasn't in the church with them.
I noticed others weren't included in that scene as well like Richard and his wife Claudia, Micheal and Walt, Faraday and Charlotte, Lapidus and probably some more main characters you'd think would be there. Also ben never entered the church, was he not ready to "move on" yet or is he going to hell? If you notice John's ex wasn't there. So in the end he died alone but at least he had his new island friends
Also miles, ana lucia and mr eko wasn’t there either don’t understand why, apparently the reason why Michael wasn’t there was because he killed ana lucia and Libby but I don’t understand because he helped everyone at the end of season 4 and just died, I know what he did was wrong but I think he redeemed himself and should of been forgiven, pretty certain he was trapped on the island after he died which explains why he was talking to Hurley as Hurley can talk to dead people, also at that point if Michael can’t be forgiven surely Ben shouldn’t be forgiven also
This fucking show made me cry more than any other event in my life. When it ended, it felt like a part of me died. Still bitter about Locke's life and death... So unfair being used all his life. Hell even in death he was used by Jacob's brother :@
Charlie was easily one of the best characters in the show and Dominic Monaghan portrayal of "Charlie Hieronymous Pace" was excellent and that's why he easily became one of my favorite actors in the world. I'm hoping that we could have a LOST spinoff in the future set at about 20 or so years in the future where another plane crashes so someone can take Hurleys place as Jacob and have some fan favorites like Sawyer, Kate and Claire come back aswell hell even have Charlie or Jack return as like a vision or something of Hurley's.
I've rewatched this show 10 years after I said the ending sucked. I was bitter. I cannot believe I waited that long to do it, and it was incredibly awesome once again, and I'm at peace with the ending. I think it's the best show ever made (granted there are a few things I could go without or change), but knowing limitations of TV productions, it's been fully satisfying.
I've only watched through the entire show once so far, though I'm convinced that giving the entire show a viewing would provide me with a little more insight into the ending and I might feel a little better about it. As it was, regardless with how confused I was, I still loved that damned show and tried to make peace with the ending.
12 years ago, I liked the finale because the way the characters reunited with one another was quite emotional. The actors' delivery was flawless. It made me burst into tears so many times. And yet, I couldn't help but feel that something was missing. There were so many burning questions that were left hanging in the air. My expectations were sky-high and it seemed that there were plenty of plot holes. To me, the ending was bittersweet. Or so I thought. Just a couple of months ago, I binge watched all the seasons of Lost for the second time and man... was I wrong! All these answers had been in front of me the whole time but I couldn't see them because I was too focused on what happens next and who does what. I don't know, it's like back then, I was waiting for something out of this world to happen. When in fact, the storyline makes perfect sense if you really open your mind for it. I'm so glad I gave this show another chance. It's brilliant!
Sawyer is my favorite character from this show and of all time. He had such great character development from when we first meet him we hate him but as the show continues we know we can’t watch it if he died. Ugh I love him ahah
Mine is the flashbacks to the island when they remember, I found it very emotional. Love lost! Now I don't know what to watch on Netflix, nothing will beat it.

Lame and boring, so gay

When Shannon translates the message from Russeau and they work out that it's been on a loop for 16 years... That was tight. Nothing will fill the void that lost left when it finished 😪
Guys....where are we???? From that moment on I was hooked ;)
And she translated the message wrong 😐
“Guys when are we”
Locke is by far one of, if not the, greatest characters of any TV shows
Yes blowing up the submarine was so smart
It wasn't Locke
So true! A really sad and tragic story...so underated
CHARLIE'S DEATH was heartbreaking, I still feel it now.
Chktkar T i loved charlie and claire togheter, even sad when claire found charlies death out

I liked when sawyer told jack about meeting his dad in that bar🍺
That can be on a list of top 10 emotional lost moments
I actually thought about this a day ago. Jack finally realizes that his Dad was so proud of him and even a much better doctor.
oh boy the Jack face he makes... “small world huh?”
One of my favorite scenes ❤️❤️ I loved jack so much...he deserved so much 💔💔
That was the moment I realized Sawyer was a good person
I still, to this day, cannot watch the last 20 minutes of the series finale without crying. And I don't mean a tear rolling down my face...I mean ugly, snotty, crying my eyes out. Favorite show ever.

rewatched it for the sec time and it was worth it alldayy last ep dont care whatt u are u must ive cried one of the best shows i really did get lost in it!!!!!
Also when Ana Lucia shot Shannon.
That was shocking and heartbreaking...
I hated that
I think Lost was the first show that really made me at least "feel". It's wonderfully flawed, complex, multifaceted characters who you eventually come to love. Every one of them. You rooted and cheered for them. And how upsetting when one of them died cause they all felt like your friends and family. This brought back all those emotions and feelings:(
To this day no other show has truly made me "feel" in that sense. Truly one of a kind show!
jajceboy Try Westworld! You migjt also feel..
It's also complex and mind-blowing
Facttttttsss
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 and full with continuity errors... not to mention the garbage season 2 is...
Jajceboy 👍💯Agreed! I feel the same !
Yeah. But it was also really sad to see he was truly dead.
@@nimakamali same but they don’t call it a sacrifice for nothing eh?
Yeah he seemed so much like John Locke
Dimitros Desmond's episodes were definitely special ;)
Dimitros That is one of my favorite episodes too.
Dimitros that is my favourite. It was amazing!
I second this
Can't agree more
I cried when Juliet dies because of how upset sawyer is 😭

What about that scene when John Locke is banging on the hatch door?
*"I've done everything you wanted me to do! So, why did you do this to me???!!!"*

It's pretty hard for me to pick a favorite character in this show. I love most of them, except shannon... I'm glad she died
When the light from that boat came on I was so happy and then Tom says "we're gunna have to take the boy" and I shit a brick
Mario the Plumber yes that was the most terrifying part of the show for me. Still give me the creeps.
Tom played the toughest gay dude on cable for a while.
The best part of that was Sawyer's badass attitude when confronted by them
Imagine being in such a scenario. I'd probably freint being in the middle of the fucking ocean and held at gunpoint.

Paulo, not Pedro.
Fuck. I was so jolly on how light-hearted the whole episode was and then the twist came. I freaked out, especially with the music

I just finished watching this show on Hulu. I can say that it is my favorite show and I loved all of it!
Nunni and Zippy D I just finished it today
you guys seriously dropped the ball by not including the twist that the resurrected Locke was really the man in black. it was one of the biggest twists of the whole show.
Huge miss!
Came here to say this. To me, that was the biggest plot twist and it didn't even make their list!
And the revelation where Jacob dies was incredible, John Locke had both menace and chill in his eyes in his smoke monster character
I disagree! John was the catalyst not only for the Oceanic 6 to go back to the island but for Jack to finally understand his purpose. I think he’s the most important character in the show and his death doesn’t change that at all!
Lost, Prison Break, and Breaking Bad were the best shows of the 2000s!

*SEE YOU IN ANOTHER LIFE, BROTHER!* (I am from the UK, like Desmond!)
michael giacchino soundtrack raises this show even higher :), the best i ever heard in a tv show
I still remember the night I watched the pilot episode.
Some of the most memorable songs from the show include "Make Your Own Kind of Music" by Mama Cass Elliot, "Wash Away" by Joe Purdy, "Shambala" by Three Dog Night, and "Downtown" by Petula Clark, among many others.

belthazormn1 The end was when they all died at different times and they met up in the flash sideways (heaven)
SONICdaGOON But why did any of that strange shit on the island happen? Why did people see ghosts?
The Island was real, the baby was from their time in purgatory. Because they were chosen by Jacob, they had to meet up in the afterlife before passing on to heaven.

The first scene of season two where we see Desmond go through his daily routine and then we realize that he’s in the hatch was one of the craziest moments for me.
I just finished this show again and it’s hurting my heart. The show is so amazing and the storyline itself is just beautifully written. The ending especially with the reference of the beginning scene with jacks eye opening and when his eye closes as the last scene. 9: To the Hatch: Jack and Locke's talks destiny towards the hatch
8: Reunited: Penny finds the Oceanic 6 along with Frank and Desmond.

The title of this is misleading. It's a list of top 10 best moments. If it was really a list of top 10 most insane moments like it says it is then it would have to include the scene where Ben talks Locke out of hanging himself and then strangles him to death, obviously.
Max Austin actually, if this was the top 10 best moments, then Charlie's death wouldn't be there.

They aren't hating the series, they hate the ending.
dogu 123 A lot of people hated the series after season 3.
dogu 123 And I mean a lot.
My favorite part was when julien died saying "would u like to grab a cup of coffee" to sawyer and then her saying it again at the hospital
For anyone comparing Lost to any TV show, ffs just look at that acting it's incomparable, I've never seen anything so deeply immersive.

@@lifeisberserk9566 Might agree with you.
@@lifeisberserk9566 i think the connection LOST made with its characters was unreal and unmatched. It was an experience
Wurzelknecht Absolutely true

Also miles, ana lucia and mr eko wasn’t there either don’t understand why, apparently the reason why Michael wasn’t there was because he killed ana lucia and Libby but I don’t understand because he helped everyone at the end of season 4 and just died, I know what he did was wrong but I think he redeemed himself and should of been forgiven, pretty certain he was trapped on the island after he died which explains why he was talking to Hurley as Hurley can talk to dead people, also at that point if Michael can’t be forgiven surely Ben shouldn’t be forgiven also
@@BrokenG-String Richard's wife was Isabella.

I loved when Jack told Hurley he is the real protector of the island. That was a very emotional scene.
