Oh no, no mud,,,,,,I’m shocked, Canada must be in a state of drought,,,,,,,,, because if there’s been mud anywhere in his province he’d of found it!!!👍

    The one thing that I never really liked about my Canyon V6 was the low end torque of it, when towing or even daily driving it constantly would hunt for gears, and going up a hill on the highway and needing to accelerate would always kick back to 6th gear.
    I put a trifecta tune on it and boy does it make the usability of the V6 go up. It flattens out the torque curve and gives you about 25-30 ft lbs more torque at about 2000 rpm. Makes daily driving and towing way smoother and has given me better fuel economy.
    For about $350 it makes these brothers great weekend toy haulers

It almost runs like a junior version of a Baja truck. Drove to Galveston from Hondo and got 25mpg at 70-75 mph. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!👍🏼

    Hello again! Yea I agree the Colorado is a well rounded package, but after owning both 2016 Z71,4x4, V6 Ext Cab and W/T 4x4, V6 Crew Cab, I honestly believe the Z71 and especially with the Trail Boss Packages as offered raises the prices too close to a ZR2! So I decided to forgo the extra expense es and get myself a W/T Crew Cab 4x4, V6
    With every option available on the WT, Trailer Tow Package that gets the G80 auto locker rear, small inexpensive options like color matched bumpers and door handles with mirrors plus alloy 16” wheels, OnStar 4 G LTE WIFI with 7” Touch Screen an Cruise Control plus bright trim around the side windows with dark tint. All I need an nothing I don’t. With the money I saved there was more than enough left over for a slight raise with Fox Long Travel Coil-Over front leveling kit, rear Firestone Air Bags to tow my 22” 4,500 lbs Travel Trailer nice an level, dealer installed ZR2 Bison Skid Plates, Goodyear DuraTrac tires. Plus an 84 month/100,000 miles Bumper to Bumper Warranty, all for under 36K! Sure I don’t have the front axle locker or rear, heated leather trim seats and multi colored driver info center and 8.4” Nav/ Bose. All I really need at this point to help me get as deep off roading as possible is an aftermarket HD front bumper and winch. As far as mileage? Just commuting empty we get 18-26mpg, towing with everything we need for a weeks trip, 12-15 on the flats at the speed limits without tow haul mode or cruise control, that if I feather the gas pedal helps keep the trans from downshifting too early, or 8-10 in the mountains at the speed limits. Once again nice job on the video! Have fun and stay safe and healthy!

    My new RV is the first small trailer I’ve owned, it’s at around 3k loaded, and I use my 2014 Buick Enclave it has the 3.6 (not 300hp but 280 ft lb torque not far off the Colorado numbers) it tows well I’m impressed, moreover I have my 1997 F150 I’ve owned since new it’s still in A1 condition and it is not a good towing truck it actually not comfortable towing my new trailer. I’m really looking hard at the Colorado.

    Hello again Steve. I’m not sure if I’ve ever told you about my truck and travel trailer. I have a 2019 Colorado Crew Cab 4x4, V6 Short Bed. That I’ve added Bilstein 5100 Struts and Shocks, set the front at 2” lift/level, stock hight rear. With 265/75-16 Cooper Discover RTX AT tires at 32”. The travel trailer is a 2020 Grey Wolf 24 JS, at 26’ overall length and 8’9” high at the AC. AT 4,500 lbs empty, 5,600 lbs ready for a trip, certified on a Cat Scale together at 10,250 lbs CGVW. With the help of a Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Hitch. That gets me 10-12 mpg at 65 mph legal speeds on the flats, or 8-10 maintaining legal speed limits on Interstate grades. All with plenty of power, able to maintain the legal speed limits just feathering the gas pedal, without the tow/haul more on, that especially with cruise control makes the trans downshift too often, so just feathering the gas pedal is the best way to maintain the speed. I find the Colorado is a fine tow vehicle.

  • @dieseldrax
    @dieseldrax 4 года назад +5

    7:20 - You talk about power but what gets things going and accelerating is torque, not HP, and is why diesel is king when it comes to moving loads. More torque at lower RPMs beats rev-happy gas engines every time.

    • @captainstabbin9338
      @captainstabbin9338 4 года назад +1

      Horsepower is really how often you spin the crank in a given time for an equal fuel load each rev (or 2 revs in a 4 stroke). Torque is how much the fuel pushed down on the piston when it combust and how far from the center of the crank it is.

    • @dieseldrax
      @dieseldrax 4 года назад +1

      Captain Stabbin You don’t need to mansplain, I know what the difference is and that horsepower is calculated based on torque and RPM. Power (horsepower) isn’t what accelerates the vehicle, but is what determines how fast (top speed) it can go. When towing a trailer it’s more torque down low that gets things moving better than an engine that makes peak torque and horsepower at higher RPMs.
      Blaming power for slow acceleration when accelerating with a trailer is misplaced blame. Torque is what’s lacking.

    I'd also like to see some kind of an mpg test with and without that silly chin-spoiler. I suspect it's really only to meet the strict EPA limits, and doesn't really make that much of a difference in "real world" driving. ??
    Filming by yourself, do you ever have trouble turning around with the trailer on? I used to drive a semi-truck, and learned to make some U-turns in unique areas! You can't just whip a semi into a convenience store lot and turn around. Cab + Trailer was often 70 feet long or so. ;)

    Being able to pull the load...and pulling the load without the engine screaming the whole time is 2 different things. I can’t stand pulling a trailer with a small engine constantly gearing down and screaming the entire time. My 2011 F150 will put a 16ft tandem loaded with 3 850lb ATVs and stay in 6th gear overdrive almost the whole time. It’s no different than cruising along with no trailer at all. It also pulls my John Deere compact tractor with loader and Bush hog attached in 6th gear OD too. That’s the heaviest loads I will ever haul and the 5.0 does it in overdrive 👍🏼. My buddy pulled my trailer and the 3 ATVs one day with his Colorado and it downshifted and screamed the whole time. Drives me nuts ! There’s just no substitute for low rpm pulling power from a V8

    Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!👎👎👎👎👎😬👎😬👎👎Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluf

    4500 to 5000 pounds “is a good amount of weight until it reflects the Honda Ridgelines towing capacity then it is simply “not enough” smh

      Not sure what your point is. This trailer would be maxing out the Honda, but the Colorado has an extra 2,000 or so additional capacity.
