Hey Mystic, a question popped into my mind: What inspired you to make the “Best Team” Series? I used these teams for some playthroughs because I wasn’t confident in my team building so I always appreciated when they came out, and I still like watching them, even if I don’t use them. But is there anything that wanted you to make this series? I’m curious what your answer will be,

If anyone is curious, this team doesn’t have any flying type moves, and although it doesn’t really matter because its super affective against grass, fighting, and bug types, which is already covered by the entirety of the team, if you really want to go the extra mile for a flying type, I’d say it doesn’t hurt to change one of the two fighting type moves Infernape has for Ariel ace, samurott can also learn Ariel ace, but the decision is yours to make. 😌

  • @tuvyamaeir4684
    @tuvyamaeir4684 2 года назад +110

The problem with a Legends Arceus Best Team is that it needs to be much, MUCH tankier than the standard games. Sweeping quite literally does not exist in this game thanks to the turn system being...well, actually based on turns this time. You need to be able to take hits before dishing them out in every battle against more than one Pokemon, including every Trainer. Some of choices are way too frail, and I made the same mistake with Infernape on my team. Sure, you can have one super fast sweeper, maybe two, but you've got four.
If you were to ask me for the best team with everything like that in mind...
Samurott (best starter by far, both offensively and defensively)
Sylveon (best Fairy type in the game, since it has the fewest weaknesses and plenty of bulk)
Heracross (not as frail as the other Fighting types, and covers its weaknesses really well)
Goodra (the best standard Pokemon in the game by far thanks to its typing and the move Shelter)
Gliscor (defensive monster with awesome movepool)
Electivire (pure Electric is a good defensive type, especially in this game, plus its movepool is astoundingly good)
TL;DR, you treated this game way too much like a normal Pokemon game which it absolutely isn't. If it were, sure, you might have a point with your team. But one needs to adapt to the mechanics.

    • @mauroperez2848
      @mauroperez2848 2 года назад +9

I noticed it during the endgame fights. Sweeping isn't going to cut it if the next sent pokemon gets to move before you. You need a decent defensive backbone if you want to survive. I had my Goodra and Gliscor act as my tanks and Samurott to an extent due to typing.
The team you mention sounds very good. A good mix of type diversity while still having a decent amount of bulk.

    • @tuvyamaeir4684

@@mauroperez2848 My own team only half resembled this. Samurott, Goodra, Sylveon, Kleavor, Infernape, and Porygon-Z. I try to speak from experience of making some good decisions and bad decisions. I mean, heck, I only added Goodra because I had an opportunity to gain a Shiny Kleavor. But that is about my playthrough on a whim with no research. A Best Team would do things differently, and you pointed to exactly what I was getting at. :)

Imo, bulky Pokémon are quite good in legends, because they typically have a lot of hard hits and staying power, as well as the fact that the pokemons speed does not seem to affect turn order too much (as in, they still get to move twice) in order to merit using a speedy Pokémon that won't stick around

me personally, i disagree. i think its best to have around 4 sweep/2 bulk or maybe 3sweep/1bruiser/2bulk combos but it really does matter wat ur playstyle is. (it feels like even the bulk gets hit hard)
I used Garchomp (free lvl85), Infernape (prob best/versatile poke), Gardevoir(powerhouse), Gyarados (needed a water type and cant go wrong with this guy), Tangrowth (mainly just for def/tank), Goodra (good sp def/bruiser)
I also use togekiss instead of gardevoir when i need some more bulk. but i beat volo with just my garchomp, infernape and tangrowth(just used to heal my garchomp/infernape).

For Reference to the below: Overall Resistance Rating is equal to adding/subtracting the following (4x Effect is +4, 2x Effect is +2, 1/2 Effect is -2, 1/4 Effect is -4, Immunity is -1, Normal Effectiveness is 0 - Lower is Better)
I just researched Legends Arceus myself and found that Ursaluna is a better Ground Type until you gain access to Garchomp (If you want a faster Ursaluna). For Reference Garchomp has an Overall Resistance rating of 2, the Same as Ursaluna, with better stat totals. The Regular Attack stat is 10 less in exchange for higher Special stat which I would argue that you could still use Bulldoze, but if you want a 90 power move, you could use earth power for that if you wanted and use Stone Edge, Shadow Claw and possibly Draco Meteor. Even then, Ursaluna may be a better Pokemon compared to Garchomp for the coverage, despite everything.
Ursaluna compared to Rhyperior is better at guarding against weaknesses by the following facts:
1.Ursaluna is weak to 0 4x super effective moves as opposed to Rhyperior's 2
    2. Ursaluna has the same number of 2x super effective weaknesses at 4
    3. Ursaluna has 2 less 50% resistances, no 75% resistances, but one extra immunity
    4. Ursaluna therefore has an Overall Resistance Rating of 2 as opposed to Rhyperior's 3
This is combined with having extra bulk compared to Rhyperior:
    1. Better HP by 15
    2. Same Physical Attack of 140
    3. Less Physical Defense of 105 vs 130 of Rhyperior (But balanced by below Special Defense for more general purpose bulk)
    4. Worse special Attack at 45 vs 55 of Rhyperior
    5. Better Speed at 50 instead of 40 for Rhyperior
    6. Better Special Defense of 80 instead of 55
    7. In Addition Ursaluna has a Higher Base Stat Total of 550 instead of Rhyperior's 535
    8. Ursaluna finally is much easier to obtain Than Rhyhorn because you can find an Alpha Ursaring and Teddiursa/Ursaring in the Second Area of the Game: Crimson Mirelands
Also, The Combination of Gengar and Togekiss has a better Moveset (In terms of Base Power + Accuracy) using the same type coverage and a higher Combined Base Stat Total than the Gardevoir/Roserade Pairing....
Gengar replaces Roserade with the moveset:
    1. Dazzling Gleam
    2. Thunderbolt
    3. Energy Ball
    4. Sludge Bomb.
    Resistance Wise:
    1. Roserade Has 4 2x Weakensses of Flying, Fire, Ice and Psychic while Gengar has the same number with Ground, Psychic, Ghost and Dark.
    2. Roserade is resistant to 4 Move Types by 50%: Water, Electric, Fighting and Fairy while Gengar only has 2: Grass and Fairy.
    3. Roserade has 1 Resistance by 75%: Grass while Gengar has 2: Bug and Poison
    4. Roserade has no Immunities and Gengar has two: Normal and Fighting.
    5. Roserade has an overall resistance rating of -4 while Gengar has -6
    Stat Wise:
    1. Gengar is faster than Roserade by 20 points
    2. Gengar's Special Attack is 5 points more than Roserade
    3. Gengar has slightly less Physical Defense Than Roserade (60 instead of 65)
    4. Gengar has Significantly less Special Defense Than Roserade (75 instead of Roserade's 105)
Considering Roserade is less resistant/Immune to enemy move types than Gengar while having the same base HP stats and having 30 less special defense; I think the speed and slightly increased special attack stat is worth it in order to get a more speedy Special Spammer. Gengar is also Easy to Obtain as you can obtain a Ghastly, including Alpha Variant in the Second Area of the Game: Crimson Mirelands.
Togekiss is a pain to level up and evolve, but it is well worth it to replace Gardevoir as the moveset is:
    1. Moonblast
    2. Psychic
    3. Flamethrower (Better Base Power Than Mystical Fire)
    4. Shadow Ball
    Resistance Wise:
    1. Togekiss has 2 more 2x super effective weaknesses than Gardevoir (Gardevoir has a Ghost, Poison and Steel Weakness while Togekiss has Electric, Ice, Poison, Rock and Steel)
    2. Togekiss has one extra 50% resistance and also 1 extra 75% resistance (Gardevoir has a 50% resistance to Psychic while Togekiss resists Grass and Dark. 75% resistance wise, Gardevoir resists Fighting Type, while Togekiss resists Fighting and Bug Types).
    3. Togekiss has 1 extra immunity than Gardevoir (Gardevoir Is immune to Fairy, but Togekiss is immune to Ground and Dragon Moves)
    4. Togekiss has an Overall Resistance Rating of -4 compared to Gardevoir's -1.
    Stat Wise:
    1. Much superior stat total for Togekiss at 545 to Gardevoir's 518
    2. Togekiss has exceptionally superior HP (85 compared to 60 of Gardevoir)
    3. Togekiss has Superior Physical Defense (95 compared to 65 of Gardevoir)
    4. Togekiss has Equal Special Defense (115) and Speed (80) compared to Gardevoir
    5. Togekiss has a slightly worse Special Attack stat (only 5 less than Gardevoir)
    6. Togekiss has worse Physical Attack (50 compared to 65).
These facts makes it the better Pokemon to field compared to Gardevoir; especially since you can use a more powerful (90 Power) special stat oriented fire move, Flamethrower compared to Mystical Fire. Both, I feel, along with Ursaluna Replacing Rhyperior are better choices with extra bulk that have better stats and in some cases movesets with the same coverage as the original three (Rhyperior, Roserade and Gardevoir) in your video.

Personally, I would choose Ursaluna instead of Rhyperior for many reasons. For starters, Rhyperior has 6 weaknesses, whereas Ursaluna only has 4. Another reason is that Ursaluna has a base stat total of 550, compared to the 535 that Rhyperior has. Lastly, for the move pool, Ursaluna has lots of moves that are either better with damage, hit probability, or even both compared to the moves you mentioned for Rhyperior, all of which can be used against it’s weaknesses. But, this is just my opinion. You can use whichever one you want.

In my experience, I found Luxaray to be probably the most important Pokémon in the game, having access to thunder wave early in the game means you can catch Alphas early in the game on top of that with his high speed decent attack and decent defense and so defense he can often times survive hits and get Alphas low enough to catch. Idk if this is confirmed but I’ve noticed that using strong thunder wave is best because it lasts longer and they’re paralyzed more often at least it feels that way. So basically Luxaray allows you to catch any Alpha you need fairly easy and fairly early fairly early with the use of smoke bombs and back shots, making him in my opinion one of the best pokemons in the game. He also has access to Crunch which is a great move in this game. The game is based on catching Pokemons and I think he may just be the best Pokémon catcher in the game.

    - Togekiss: Calm Mind, Mystical Fire, Moonblast, Air Slash
    - Magnezone: Thunder, Thunder Wave, Tri Attack, Flash Cannon
    - Liligant: Victory Dance, Leaf Blade, Drain Punch
    - Ursaluna: Giga Impact, Headlong Rush, Shadow Claw, Ice Punch

My team at the last boss, porygon Z, rhyperion, gardevor, magmortar, lucario and garchamp. By giratinas first form, I had three standing. By the end of the battle, only my porygon was left. Its funny, if you swap out magmortar for leafeon and gardevor for alakazam (who I ran with till the sinnoh temple let me know I needed a fairy stab) it would be exactly the same as my platinum team

I think Ursaluna is a pretty underrated mon, really good defensive capabilities which in a game like this seems pretty big, great move pool as well

I really like your choices for the team! I used Infernape & Goodra on my Decidueye playthrough, but I’ll definitely keep in mind some of your thoughts for my Oshawott run!
The last boss battle was 100% the most difficult battle if you dont overlevel + max out on Grits.
can’t wait for the decidueye Best Team!

In the battle with Volo, Ceaseless Edge got me a huge miss and knocked out by Giratina. Since I've been using Dark Pulse and it's actually great 😂. I still love Samurott somehow❤

I got the three out of six for my team. I used Gengar, Gliscor, and Porygon-Z for the main story. For the post-game, I swapped out Z for an Alpha Zoroark that I caught.
Looking at my team, I feel like I could have used a few more tanks, but the game threw me an alpha Ghastly and Zoroark, so I couldn't say no.

funny thing is you can get chimchar-infernape even before Budew since they can spawn pretty rarely near the second base camps location in the feild lands & there's even a quest that comes with a guarentied chimchar encounter/mandatory catch

the problem is you need the link cable and MP points to get rhyperior from rhydon anyways but if you ask me, the highlands is no later to get the garchomp line compared to most of the pokemon here. besides, garchomp is stronger and faster and has less weaknesses than rhyperior

even a year later, the garchomp is too late in the game argument is REALLY stupid. who freakin cares when its better and faster than garchomp

My team was Samurott, Staraptor, Infernape, Sylveon, Gengar and alpha Garchomp, which I swapped out for Mamoswine later. Was decent, got through the main game with no issues and (only just) through Volo and Giratina without healing. Could definitely have used some more bulk though due to how this game and its turn mechanics worked, and I was surprised at how little I used Staraptor in the end. Would've liked Gliscor or Gardevoir, but I wanted to use some I hadn't before.

For the next game we just need to keep the battle animations and the open world and bring back cities, trainers and gyms

Yeah probably the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the fact that to go anywhere you had to go back to Jubilife village first. Would've been cool if there were other villages to make pit stops at when transitioning from area to area

The way Bulldoze works in this game especially for a fast mon like Garchomp allows it to move twice even without Agile Style making it better than Earthquake. Also Hisuian Lilligant is leagues ahead of Roserade, Victory Dance is so broken. Last I would recommend a bulkier fairy over Gardevior, probably Togekiss or Sylveon.

Given the way the turn order mechanics work in this game, I heavily recommend running Aqua Jet on Samurott instead of Aqua Tail just for the ‘multiple moves before your opponent’ thing. You can get off an Aqua Jet and a Ceaseless edge consecutively before your opponent gets to move at all as long as the opposing Pokémon isn’t absurdly fast, but if it is, you simply pull an Agile Style Aqua Jet to achieve the same effect.

Today I was trying to catch glaceon and then when 1 of my Pokémon that can do super effective damage to it and then I realized half my team is weak to ice but the good thing it didn’t learn any ice type moves

I went with Typhlosian, Umbreon, alpha Rhyperior, alpha Tangrowth, alpha Togekiss, and alpha Ursaluna. All were above 530 stats and I felt I could cover all weaknesses with them.

I pretty much use this team for my personal playthrough but replace Roserade & Rhyperior with Lilligant & Gliscor since I really don't want to deal with half of the team being susceptible to fighting.

I just wanted to point out, your set up doesn't have a single Flying type move or a Normal type move. I started with Cyndaquil so I swapped Gyarados for Samorott for my playthrough, giving me dark, water, flying, and normal moves (Dark Pulse, Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Hyper Beam). Other than that, I can't thank you enough for this team and the move ideas. Great stuff! Maybe you can make a few different teams in the future, giving options to swap out for a few of these pokemon?

To be fair, Normal type moves are usually not really necessary outside of Normal types getting STAB from them obviously, as they are never super effective on anything, and Rock and Steel resist them, while Ghost is just flat out immune.
