- Hello Wayfarers, this is a Shiny only challenge in Pokemon Legends Arceus, with some additional rules thrown in. I had a tonne of fun with this challenge and I truly believe this is the ultimate Shiny Hunting experience if you're a fan of that kind of thing.

To enter, please just leave a comment with which Pokemon game you think is the best to Shiny Hunt in, and why!

PLA def is the most fun to shiny hunt in. The sparkles when they spawn is so nice I was really disappointed when I didn't see them in SV.
Totally agree as it’s my personal favourite too 🥳 I was also disappointed with that in SV 😞
And th shiny noise!
Like if they would have made it so that you can target Pokemon and see a sparkle next to it's name at least it wouldn't have been as infuriating because there are far too many shinies with barely noticeable differences, especially small Pokemon like Tadbulb.
This is why I didn’t buy SV I didn’t really like the look of the game it looked really odd compared to other Pokémon and I really enjoy PLA
@@eninja1777 I personally enjoyed Scarlet a lot more than PLA, but it's preference I guess. I can see why people don't like either. I have 140 hours in Scarlet so far and I didn't get anywhere near that in PLA.
Scarlet and Violet come close but Arceus nails it with a simple shiny spawn sound. Being let known that theres a shiny is amazing so you don't miss it or despawn it.
I totally agree dude, that sparkle and noise are SO helpful! The Starly I caught in this video was a perfect example, because there is NO way I’d have seen it without them 😅
But at least in SV, the wild shinies don’t despawn
Hmm I see where you’re coming from, but I think the problem with SV is that you might move completely out of the area without seeing that shiny to begin with, and so you would miss it - at least with PLA there’s no way you’re missing it, because you hear the jingle and you see the sparkle and it’s obvious where it is 😄

I have gotta agree that legends is the most fun to hunt in and i was so disappointed that the sparkles weren’t there in sv, almost made me fail a shiny

The sandwiches from Scarlet & Violet certainly made it easier for shiny hunting, but the audio/visual feedback of the overworld sparkle, combined with mass outbreaks is what puts PLA at the top for me.
Completely unrelated to the video and idk if anybody else noticed this but commander kamado’s team before the legendary cutscene consisted of a snorlax braviary clefable and golem which all evolve in different ways high friendship, level up, stone, and trade and professor Rowan studies Pokémon’s evolution so I thought that was kind of fun 😅😅

I think the best game to shiny hunt in is SV because I once got 5 shiny Pokemon from 1 sparkling sandwich, so 5 in 30 minutes and 2 times I got them a couple seconds later

I really expected to see a more organized selection of Pokémon, but I was really happy when you just went with whatever shinies you could find. It made the playthrough feel much more authentic. My favorite game to shiny hunt in is Let’s Go. It’s super easy, and all the Gen 1 Mons are my absolute favorite shinies.

Legends Arceus is by far the best to shiny hunt in. It's insane how much the sparkle and simple sound effect helps, especially for subtle shinies. I feel bad for colorblind people trying to hunt in Scarlet/Violet, since they removed both the visual sparkle and the sound cue- having to check every mon with the overworld fights must be annoying. I'm not colorblind myself, but hahve constant paranoia when playing because I'm constantly worrying that I'll just walk right by one without noticing ;w;
I couldn’t agree more, I’ve said the same thing about accessibility so often - it’s nice that anyone with a visual or auditory impairment can hunt without issue in PLA, compared to SV where it’s restrictive - I don’t think it’s a bad thing in terms of challenge (although it is daunting) but it is when you consider those with impairments 😕

as an experienced shiny hunter i think sun and moon are the best games for it specifically cause of the SOS method. if your preparation is good enough and you pay attention you're pretty much guaranteed to find your target with enough patience. excited to see more stuff from you, i hope your channel gets big :)

PLA is definitely a strong contender for easiest game to shiny hunt in, the little jingle helps and I love the increased odds from perfecting a pokemon's dex entry. I also think Scarvio is a tough contender, theres so many ways to shiny hunt it's so close to perfect- if PLA's overworld shiny jingle was in SV it would be my favourite.

I’ve watched probably a hundred PLA videos, and not a single one has gone through the story and told a unique story quite like you have. i think the best game to shiny hunt in is pla. there’s so many options and you really do feel like your efforts are rewarded (compiling / perfecting an entry) + the alpha’s being able to be shiny makes for extra fun hunts :)

This may seem strange but Pokemon Quest was my favourite game to shiny hunt in, I have no explanation apart from sentimental reason as my first ever shiny was a full odds shiny Eevee that will forever be stuck in block form. If I have to choose a main line series game, it'd have to be PLA, I bought it two weeks ago and I've already gotten quite a few shinies and having the sparkle noise really adds a lot!

I love seeing these odds breakdowns and how you got them. I’ve been working on a new play focused on dex completion to get shiny charm, and found 12 shinies so far. Including a full odds mr mime, and my favorite, first in the dex, shiny alpha female heracross with adamant nature. I replaced my starter so fast.

Honestly? PLA is the best one to shiny hunt in. I've never had more luck or gotten more shinies then I did in this game. I still have an automatic reponse of joy and excitement whenever I hear the shiny sound from the game. I hope they bring something like that back in future games (C'moooon Legends Celebi. BE A THING)

Some Shinies are just so similar to their original colors, I’m starting to think I have possibly missed a lot of Shinies.
They are but the amazing thing with Arceus is the shiny sound and sparkle are both present unlike Scarlet and Violet - that gives you a good chance of finding them even if they do have similar colours 😊

In terms of my favourite method of shiny hunting, that has to go to let’s go, for being an easy, simple and fairly controllable method that lets you find shinies you want fairly quickly, however, in terms of excitement and fun, the ultra wormholes in USUM are my favourite as the odds are not only increased, but you also have the chance to find shiny legends without a lot of struggle and resetting

PLA is my favourite pokemon game that has ever come out by such a long way. It's the first and only game I've fully committed to shiny hunting in. It's so much fun just running around and hearing that little jingle.

The best game to shiny hunt in is Legends Arceus of Scarlet and Violet. The shiny sound is easier to not miss shiniesin Legends arceus while the rates for shinies are easier with sandwiches!

I’ll probably release all kinds to be honest, I’m planning on doing some more Pokémon challenges but I like playing Jurassic World Evolution, anything Star Wars related etc. - it mostly just depends on what kind of challenges I’m feeling up to. At the moment I’m working on a Pokemon Shield run where I can only use Baby Pokemon, that’s been pretty fun so far 😊

I personally love the rewarding feeling of finding a shiny in any of the OG games that have the 1/8,000 something odds. It’s always a nice surprise to find one!
Totally get that dude and I think you’re spot on, finding a 1/8192 odds shiny must be a crazy feeling 🤯😄 I’ve been playing Pokémon (every main series game) since 2001 and I’ve never come across a full odds 1/8192, which just goes to show how rare they are and how rewarding it’d be to find one!

Love hunting in PLA. Have enjoyed doing it in SV too (except for water spawns and tiny mons, ugh), but PLA takes the cake for me
For the electrode one, I was being cocky while fighting it and then it got me to 1 hit left and then I soloed the second half of the fight
I love shiny hunting in Legends purely for the sound effect and the sparkles, but I gotta say SV still takes the lead as the best Pokemon to shiny hunt in the series even without the special effects.
The reason is simple: you can quickly and easily force the outbreak you are looking for, and you can greatly increase your odds with sandwiches.
Sure, Outbreak odds in Legends are higher than SV, but you gotta remember you only get a handful of Pokémon per Legends outbreak (24 max, I think?) so unless you find the shiny within those, you will have to go back to the village and reset for the outbreak again... which is 100% luck based, sadly. Meaning you can take hours, even days to find the outbreak you want, and then get 0 shinies out of it.
Meanwhile, once you get the outbreak in SV, you are set until the next day. Just save the game, pop a sandwich and keep repeating until you find the shiny you wanted.
TLDR: Legends is amazing for shiny hunting randomly when you don't have a set target in mind. But SV is far superior for shiny hunting specific Pokemon you want/need.
I did the same thing, only playing with shiny. I do it on Black 2, so far i have 168 shinys. Trust me, it’s so painful, literally 195 days. I also traded my oun shiny pokemon from my old games. I do all of this in my retroarch emulator on ios. But still, I also have a hard goal, catching female shiny combee to complete my shiny pokedex
At first i wasnt really a fan of pla as much as other games but recently ive gotten back into it and have been loving shiny hunting and other things. Winning this would be awesome.
PLA was definitely the most fun shiny hunting I've ever had. It actually got me into shiny hunting. Seeing the stars and the sound in the overworld were so great in helping. There were maybe 3 or 4 shinies that spawned and I only heard the sound, so it definitely saved me from missing on some. Also Shinx was my 1st shiny in PLA as well! 8 hours in, and in an outbreak in the same area too! I have a friend who said she got a shiny shinx 30 minutes into the game. One time I caught 2 shiny Zubat in the same outbreak.

To be honest I chickened out on the Kamado fight for the longest time (I mean like ) before finally completing it. I’ve gotten some shinies before but I don’t think I would’ve had the patience to do something like this. Well done!
Volo being a merchant that doesnt really sell you anything is something i never picked up on until i finished the game
I love this comment - my thinking was always that he was just a bit lazy or had his head in the clouds, but the reveal of him being a poor merchant, likely because he’s out studying the deities instead ready to unleash chaos on Hisui, is amazing.
Every time I do another playthrough of a Pokemon game I make sure to have at least 1 shiny on my team. For example, when I played through Shield doing a mono ghost run, I hatched a shiny Honedge. Before PLA came out I ran Lets Go again and got a Shiny Paras. It wasnt exactly what I was looking for but Huzin, my beloved female shiny Paras, put in some work. I grew attached to it, which is why when I got PLA on release I was shocked that my first shiny was another female Paras. Huzin came back to me and I once again used it until I finished the game. I love that little buddy.

Sure! Although, I’m not so much of an expert myself 😅 If you want tips for Legends Arceus, I’d say to make good use of the throwable items which stun Pokémon, as they REALLY help with catching shinies, take your time when trying to catch one so that you don’t faint or lose it, and see if you can complete the Pokédex to obtain the shiny charm, as that’ll really help you find more of the full odds ones 😊

It’s the funnest to shiny hint but also the most frustrating by how easy it is to fail finding the shiny if it doesn’t spawn in-front of you
A year removed, I finally got back into PLA and almost finished the game and started shiny hunting. Got a shiny Ralts after a couple of hours that ran away, but I saved, so I got it on the second try! Going into my senior year, so I should probably be working on my college apps lmao, but heyyyyy. PLA definitely the most satisfying to shiny hunt. Nothing compares to the sparkle and sound
I love hunting in sword dlc because it was my first game i ever shiny hunted in and the dynamax lairs can be really fun and a nice different way to shiny hunt!! great vid!

I think Scarlet & Violet are the best to shiny hunt in since with isolated encounters and boosted odds it's so easy to get shinies of specific pokemon
i think pokemon legends arceus is the best game to shiny hunt in, because i love how the sparkles look and the noise when they spawn, and also the fact that you can catch almost any alpha as well and its amazing to find an alpha shiny pokemon for your team.
PLA is super fun to shiny hunt in. It's the only game in the entire series where I've felt compelled to try and complete a shiny dex- and I'm about 35% done! Other than spacetime distortion pokemon and the burmy line it's a super fun process of just exploring and catching.

Really high quality video, I think omega ruby and alpha sapphire is the best to shiny hunt in because you can do horde encounters of 5 pokemon at a time! I also love the amount of legendary hunts you can do in those games. Thanks for taking the time and making cool videos

I think pokemon scarlet and violet are the best games using the shiny charm and the sandwiches, I manage to find multiple shinies using the outbreaks too. Also great video loved every second!

Whats crazy is that I also caught a shiny starly at that same exact spot early in my Legends journey too! I love Legends Arceus and was pleasantly surprised with how the shiny system works / shinies appear in the wild. Commenting for the shiny alpha Electivire cause that was just epic to see. Luckily the shiny rate is quicker, so the lack of speed-up makes this video infinitely better than any other "Pokemon ________ but I can only use Shinies!" video
I also think PLA is the best game to shiny hunt because you can just fly around the map for a while and you’ll most likely find a shiny or you could do a outbreak and one really quickly
Yep totally agree dude, it’s a shame I couldn’t do more of the flying in this challenge tbh but as I only unlocked it really late it wasn’t on the cards - it’s SO useful in the postgame for hunting 😄
Great video, shiny hunting has been my favorite thing to do ever since I can remember but I’ve never done a play through like this. I think I’ll be doing my first one in PLA thanks to this video and possibly record and upload as well. I’ll give you a shoutout for the inspiration if I decide to go through with it.

Let's Go may be the best to shiny hunt in because the catch combo chain methods in that. Was able to use it to get a Shiny Psyduck to replace the one I accidentally defeated back in Pearl years ago. I mostly am a Soft Reset for Legends Shiny hunter though, so really any games I like to hunt in via that method :)

I like these types of videos, I've never had many shiny Pokemon, except for the 100% chance ones, but I think that will change in Legends Arceus. Hopefully.

PLA is THE BEST game to shiny hunt. The sound and the sparkles are so nice and so clean. I just fell in love with this game and still shiny hunting today . it’s just TOOOOOOO GOOOOOD

I believe while people thino that pokemon legends arceus is the best to hunt shinies in,mine in pokemon X and Y. The thrill of having a group battle with some pokemon and one shiny sparks more joy. Sure it may be also a bit like a little hard. The hard work having to catch a floette before so that it can use its special move,then having a group of pokemon.
Id say any of the old Sinnoh games or HG/SS are fun to shiny hunt purely due to the fact of the cute charm shiny glitch.
But modern era probably Arceus or Lets Go games are fun too
Pla is a fun game to hunt in, but I would say scarlet and violet are the best as I feel you get more encountered combined with good odds make the hunting easier
I'm doing this right now as a nuzlocke. I thought it would be a great way to randomize the team like a traditional nuzlocke. The only stuff I'm allowed to hunt are the Pokemon I need for requests, as I'm only allowed to use shinnies for requests too. My goal is to fill Jubilife Village with as many shiny Pokemon as I can. I'm also only allowed to use non-shiny Pokemon for filling Pokedex requests, but I can't have any non-shinies on my team to progress the story. Ironically, my starter ended up being a full odds Ponyta, when I hadn't progressed far enough to get access to that request yet, and I hadn't even gotten it's Pokedex entry to level 10 yet, so it was true full odds.

i normally don’t purposely shinyhunt but PLA has to be my favorite to get shinies in, the sound of the shinies spawning is just amazing :3 i also love shiny hunting in older games (like X) but they’re not my favorite

USUM is my favorite to hunt in. I used to love shiny hunting in USUM through the ultra wormholes.

this game will have a permanent place in my heart, being the only other pokemon game i completed other than Fire Red. Having beaten Volo and caught and registered every mon and even a box full of shinies. Too bad i played it in my Collage roommate's switch :/
I would say that either this game for the mass outbreaks or ultra sun and ultra moon for the sos method. It's just so fun

hi im curious how did you get so many pokeballs did you mod them in or did you just farm for the materials while you were waiting for the outbreaks
Hiya dude, no I didn’t mod anything into these challenges, I’ll be honest I don’t even know how to 😅 So everything I had in the early game was earned legit, by just walking around the Fieldlands for hours on end, harvesting resources and looking for shinies!
This makes me want to shiny hunt again, I tried to hunt the static encounter Alpha Gallade in Snowpoint temple and despite having perfect dex entry it literally took that long, that at some point I stumbled upon a Female Alpha shiny Ralts, my ralts dex entry wasn’t even perfected. Was a fun hunt though and I got what I wanted in the end and more.
I probably had the most fun shiny hunting in Let's go Pikachu since it gave me fond memories of the original pokemon yellow game, although they changed how to catch pokemon it still my favourite game for gen 1

PLA seems the most fun to shiny hunt, mostly because there are sparkles and sound notification when encountered. This way you don't have to be 100% engaged with the game while hunting for hours or even days for the same shiny'mon.

Pokémon legends arceus is by far the best with the sound and sparkle’s making it feel so special each time you find one and in the ds era xy and s&m having decent ways of finding them 😊
