Just stop playing the victim card. Even states like Maharastra and Gujrat pays more taxs and get less in return. They are not crying here. The fact is, This happens in every democratic country where poor states get more. And if you are still not happy then let me remain you that, this is not permanent it is temporary. 1.Why Industry are established- to produce goods?? & But why industry-- because of large scale production and this is all part of Capitalism.... INDUSTRY & CAPITALISM is important here note it ..
      2.Basic of Capitalism- maximise Profit..
( Requires low Price Raw materials, cheap labour (eg industry avg is around 12% of Cost price)....
      Point to note two-
      2.1. Low cost raw materials
      2.2. Cheap labour
      3. I had marked two things in point 1&2
@1.CAPITALISM's basic rule - areas rich in resources are genuinely kept poor to maximize profit...
Biggest Eg {Half Africa exports oil half exports gold and diamond}...
@2Industry -requires coals to operate (also the basic cause of global warming, from USA- to China all Industry runs on Coal)..... Where is coal found in India ????
#Chota-Nagpur Plateau... Jharkhand (then Bihar) has the biggest Coal mine of India..
#Bihar- Is the source of highest Gold reserves in India accounting for 48%
These areas are manipulated for Raw materials & minerals,
opening industry will get High labour cost In turn making Material coastly.. since they are victims of Capitalism Maoist &Naxals are found in these areas Tirupati Temple (Andhra) in South to Pashupati temple in North(Nepal)...
Conclusion of story- (a)don't showoff Industry to those people whose Raw materials are soul to these...
it just spread hatred and provides loss to nation in end..
(b)Your politician advertised Industry and all...had it been unilateral job than we were not lagged in grabbing Companies from Vietnam and other ASEAN nations which came after companies quited China...

In contrast, states such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh received around 200% and 150%, respectively of what they contributed.

60% of families in UP are agriculture dependent and 80% of families in Bihar. Jharkhand, Orissa and chattisgarh are the majority of coal and other minerals producer. Both farming and minning pay very little and thus the less contribution in taxes but someone has to do it or else we will die of hunger or suffer an energy crisis. The South, Maharashtra and Gujarat could not have seen a revolution that it is seeing today if they were to worry about food and energy.

The population of India as per the 1971 census was approx 500M and the number of seats in Loksabha at that time was 521. Now almost fifty years later, in 2023, the population is 1.4B (almost triple since 1971) and the number of seats in Lok sabha is 545(almost the same as in 1971). So now the question is, Was it a good idea to freeze the seats at that time? Right now the work of 1000 people is done by just 500 people. Now the second question, using the 1971 census to redistribute money in 2023 when the population is almost tripled would have been a good idea?
Yes I do agree the southern states should have been given incentives for controlling their population but closing your eyes and treating everyone the same as they were in the 1970s, who thinks was a good idea?

@@karthikabhimanyu556 Population for any country has never been a problem. The very idea that increased Population is a problem is a flawed idea. Infact the Population is the most important resource of any country, the more resources you have the better. Think of it like Lithium or Oil Reserves, if you utilize it properly, you can become rich like Middle Eastern countries but if you can't utilize them properly or mess them up like some African countries then you'll become like those African nations.
Few decades ago China thought that the increased population is a problem so they took measures to control it and today they're in a situation where they're begging its people to have more babies and increase the population.
Only incompetent leaders or governments says or think that the increased Population is a problem and blame all their failures on it.
Let me give you an example, let's say there's a country with just one child and in the second country there are 10 children, now if you give both these countries, quality education, teach them how to generate employment and give them skills of self-employment, which country you think will earn more? The second country with 10 children will earn 10x more than the first country with 1 children.
But the problem with the governments here is they never focused on that kind of education, or skill set, most of the education system is focused on how to get employed, and that too in government jobs.
Even today, you can see it clearly with the trends in UPSC, even after studying in NITs or IITs, most of its graduates go for this exam. Now take that country's example again, this time instead of teaching those children how to self-employ, you teach them how to get employment in their own government, now the country will have to pay them, so now the country with 1 child will feel much less burdened than the country with 10 child. But if you look at it, was it the children fault or was it's government's fault to not utilize them properly.
Even the idea that big Population is a problem, is mostly in the socialist countries, where everything is owned by the government. Even in India this idea of reducing population got momentum when India was going through a strong wave of socialism under Mrs. Indra Gandhi, that time government was trying to own everything.

I'm a little reluctant about suggesting a federal and state wise income tax filing like you do in US. This puts more burden on the common man to file tax twice and get more money taxed from income (not to mention centre should agree to lowered income tax so that common man doesn't end up paying more tax). But unless the centre agrees to distribute taxes to individual states more fairly, only state wise tax filing would help. I think Southern states, politically, should push for fair allocation of taxes rather than one that's population based.

Even that is still going to negatively affect states which have lifted more people out of poverty. It would only be a solution for state governments to get enough money, however the people in these states will still be overwhelming pulling the wait of other states that doesn't have better paying jobs. The only way to right that wrong is to restrict funds based on the tax share. It's actually imperative now because these states are now becoming dependant on center and that's a threat to democracy, sovereignty of state governing bodies and federal system. When these states are so dependant on central funds they become voiceless and lose any standing to resist or object to any central government desicions, and will become nothing more than a union territory and state only in name.
Restricting their fund allocation by tax will also push them for responsible spending and development focus towards growth rather than sham slush projects.
