That was probably the most absurd Counterbalance I’ve ever seen. That card is glorious. I was just in total awe of how many spells got eaten by that little 2 mana enchantment.
@@thomasnoonan2039It’s Falco Spara so not only does the commander let him look and remove the top card of his library he also runs a bunch of top card manipulation effects. Counterbalance is fantastic when your entire deck is designed to manipulate top card.
Ryan: Somewhere in the universe, Cal smiles! Loved it! haha! Also, huge Selvala hate on that last game....sheesh, poor guy barely did anything. Great content as always!
Game 1: Drake - Dream hand goes brrrrrr Drake, Zack and Jordan: "Let's play another game of Magic." Chad, about to counter 11 (?) spells in one game and remove every opponent's best cards: "Haha I don't think so."
When the opening hands were shown for the first game, I knew drake was going to win. In the second game, I felt so bad for zack….but chad had an awesome game. Congrats to everyone on their awesome wins
Wow, Falco seemed really good. Chad's play was great and Counterbalance did some WORK. Edit: Should Phyrexian Soulgorger have been sacced on turn 3 in game 2?
I realise it's because you always put the g1 commanders in the title in multiple game videos but having cadira feels clickbaity considering she never even saw the board before swapping to falco X)
Budget isn't really a factor for these decks. The Selvala deck has snow lands so it can use the Mouth of Ronom. Also the pilot may just like the lands.
@@Lvl5Mage you run a valid point my point was that if you’re running all this fast mana all unless you’re using something that specifically requires Snow lands I don’t see why you couldn’t save a couple bucks in your deck by running just normal lands. I get budget isn’t really concerned though.
Damn I was counting Falco out before that game started. Counterbalance is messed up and Rashmi.. that card is off the chain. I have always flirted w the idea of building Rashmi but never liked simic 🤷♂️. Maybe Thrassios Smasher is my deck? Great games👍 I honestly thought Rog Silas would be able to blast thru every game against those lower tier lists but the politics and pilot skill matter a whole lot in cEdh.
So correct me if I'm wrong, but at 9:15 when Chad casts force of vigor triggering Rashmi revealing spellseeker does timining restrictions still apply even tho it's s creature? Because he was casting spellseeker during drake's turn does it not matter.
CEDH is so stale. Its like the same 50 cards every game, the same combos over and over. and then they throw a commander and like 15 cards to make it seem like the deck has flavor when they just wait to use the same busted combos just with a side strategy to go with it.
"this game shows why Silas Rograkh is the fastest deck in the format"... You know a turn 1 Necro with artifact mana acceleration probably helped too, lol.
And the first game once again, a cheap. I have no cards in my library so I win bs. and before someone ask well, why do you watch then I watch because it’s an interesting format with interesting interactions. The only problem I have is that well, it is legal within the format I find the aforementioned I have no library, but I win method, very cheap and too easy.

Yeah games like this make me want to play Counterbalance, but I ultimately feel like it's a trap... It's not nearly this good all the time.

@@bryantan4228 yup, that was pretty much my point but you made it better than I did! :) Haha
That Falco + Archmage combo was insane
Game 2 was absolutely glorious. Controlling three opponents is rare but amazing 😍
Lmao I love the callback to Cal when Chad cast Rashmi.
Ryan: Somewhere in the universe, Cal smiles! Loved it! haha! Also, huge Selvala hate on that last game....sheesh, poor guy barely did anything. Great content as always!
That's because you cannot let Selvala untap. You saw how it even tried to do things during his upkeep.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG so true
Loving all the different commanders lately. Always excited to see what non meta decks can do!
Wow... Counterbalance and Glen-Elendra Archmage are nasty with Falco Spara
A huge thumbs up to Drake's commitment to original frame cards. Love to see it!

Those were some really cool synergies with Falco!
That Falco Spara deck was SICK!
The single greatest blind flip Counterbalance of all time.
OF ALL TIME.
CB is goated!
Yo chad was wildin in game 2
That Falco deck is very cool. I love Rashmi and Glen Elendra Archmage.
I have a Zaxara deck and I'd love to see what this one can do. Haven't turned mine into cedh but want to.
That poor selvala never got a chance oh my god lol
He brings a knife to a space battle ships fight
You can't just cast her and expect her to stay on board lol.
Btw that Falco deck was brutal
That was a CRAZY Falco game. Wow!!!!!
Damn that opening hand for RogSi… holy sheet
That second game was absolutely brutal. Wow.

Phyrexian soulgorger was wheeled away, he cast a relic golem
@@bryantmoyle1706 Oh, I see now. Couldn't make out the card on mobile and just assumed it was Soulgorger. Thanks!
And here i was excited to see some cadira love
What an absolute Chad
I see the hate for Selvala happens even when I am not playing it. Selvala needs protection or it’s just dead in the water.
Counter balance putting in some work.
incredible action packed games
Zach's therapist just quit after watching this game
Turn the earth really showing its worth!
Seems like somebody forgot Selvala had a summoning sickness?
Dam Chad. That's what I like to see. Top tier 🔥

now i remember how toxic counterbalance can be. Flashbacks from old legacy
Once again with the snow, Lands what are you running in your decks that you need snow land for ? regular land is just cheaper
Budget isn't really a factor for these decks. The Selvala deck has snow lands so it can use the Mouth of Ronom. Also the pilot may just like the lands.
Why even complain about snow lands when they're running stuff like mana crypt and OG duals which are hundreds of dollars?

congrats to the players who let chad win, CONGRATULATIONS.
I don't think Jordan should have countered the Shared Summons when Chad was already in such a lead as a control deck.
I kinda want to build flash rashmi now...

Rashmi says you can cast it, doesn’t care about timing. If Rashmi said “you can cast it until end of turn”, then yes timing would matter.
7:25 Why does Cal smile?
every day I get sicker and sicker of Thoracle... almost every match ends with that crap
Damn chad, he really hates Selvala
As a Selvala player, she absolutely needs to be dealt with ASAP. If she resolves and makes it around to my next turn, I could just win.

And deserved.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG I agree, Mono Colored Commander Centric Decks like Selvala and especially Godo deserve a ton of hate.

Exactly why it's the fastest deck in the format. Rograkh into Phyrexian Tower is what enabled that play
