Wow, i have never paid more than $2 a pint. In Texas that means it's Aldi or Sprouts, or catch an unadvertised price reduction at HEB. I switch to frozen when there's no longer flavorful fairly priced ones in stores.
The Aldi opening near me has made the nearby HEB keep their bananas at 25¢/lb. They were as low as 19¢, and that's the last time I purchased bananas.

Your Aldi is MASSIVE! I live in a crowded little city just outside of DC, and both my Aldi and Trader Joe's are really small compared to what I see other people have. It gets the job done, though! I love Aldi. I do most of my shopping there.

It must be a guy thing. We had a tight budget when the kids were small and I mean tight $75 a week. Hubster used to complain about me not stretching it enough so I took him shopping with me
He kept putting stuff in the cart and I would say -its not on the list, are you going to pay the overage?- yes dear
We go to check out and he pushed our budget over about $45. After that we redid our budget to about $100 a week.
After 30 years of marriage I still look at him and say are you gonna pay for that if we go over? While shopping. Never fails to crack us both up.

Sounds like my dad shops like your dad. When I was tiny whenever my mom was too sick to go herself she´d send my dad and me (dad to get us to the store, me because I knew where things were) out with a list. We´d end up getting All The Things and it was amazing.
