Just installed mine today not hard 2 hours max taking my time it’s even nastier on the RCF being lighter and 2 door I’d assume I broke traction earlier at 3rd gear definitely a must have should have came from factory like this
Great video, thanks again for sharing! Are you located in NJ? I'm over the other side of the Outerbridge. Would you ever be willing to do this mod on my IS 500? I don't feel comfortable doing it myself esp without a lift. I'd even be okay with you filming it if you wanted to put it on your channel. (So far I have done the Tom's carbon elbow and the RR heat shield myself.)
Hello! Yes, we are located in NJ. We are pretty far south (exit 58 off the gsp) I’m very familiar with Staten Island as I actually have family out that way small world. Go ahead and shoot us an email over at segaragechannel@gmail.com and we’ll see what we can come up with.
Another awesome GSF mod video! Based on access and clearance you had, do you think this can be done without a lift? I have 12” wheel cribs but curious if you think you could reach everything and have enough force to torque it to spec without standing. Thoughts?
Worst case you can do the job from up top! Just have to pull the intake tube/air box and maybe the coolant overflow bottle and you should have a ton of room
i install the crank pulley on my IS500 exactly following your instructions and car drove fine til i gave it some full throttle acceleration and now feels like is on limp mode no codes or anything engine idle fine sounds good . just if i try to accelerate it feels like it loss alot of power . if i look from the top of engine bay while it idle looks to me like the pulley wobbles a little . what do you think i could of done wrong ? could this cause major critical damage to my engine ? i did torque it to 242 lbs of torque .
Which pulley wobbles? Take everything off and clean the backsides of the pulleys and the mounting points on the engine block until they're completely flat and clear of any debris at all and tighten them down a little snug in star patterns, then torque them down in star patterns again.
Because if you don’t put it in a downwards attitude when you try to slide the crank pulley on, it’ll push the dowel into the timing cover, and you risk dropping it
Lexus in AZ quoted me $609 to do all three pulleys. Shocked they would even do it and they won’t be the cheapest. An Indy shop that knows the 2UR engine probably could do it for half that.
I didn’t get any Loctite with the package, and no as stated in the video I did not put Loctite on the crank bolt. I believe that the new units come with the Loctite already installed on the Alan bolts that are on the back side of the pulley
Yes and no. If any of the pulleys were to somehow cause a failure, that particular failure would not be covered under warranty. However, the pulleys do not automatically void your warranty no
For another perspective to reiterate, my Lexus dealership told me they would do the install for me if I wanted. They are familiar with RR and would never have been ok installing an aftermarket part unless they were confident it wouldn’t damage the engine.
great tutorial , planning this as my next mod for my IS500
Man your channel is Gold . I appreciate you showing us 2UR guys how to work on our cars .
I appreciate that!
Keep up the great content 👏
Great Content on the GsF ..Keep dropping more Vids...
Appreciate you!!!

It’s definitely worth the purchase!

Yes good call! I did see a video of an RCF dropped off to a shop and looked like they were doing it from the top. Thanks brother!
Wish you could have compared the 0-60 before and after the install. I'm thinking of adding this to the RC.
According to RR, it makes roughly .2 second difference!
@@SEsGarage pretty incredible for something that doesn't seem like a big modification.
I might be sold on this for my 500. How’s it been since installing?
zero issues all is well!

Good job thank you so much bro 🫡
Why does the dowl pin key way thing need to be pointing down ?
Because if you don’t put it in a downwards attitude when you try to slide the crank pulley on, it’ll push the dowel into the timing cover, and you risk dropping it
thanks for the reply, I'll definitely be pointing the dowel down now, it falling in sounds like problems I dont want.
hey if i go to get this installed how much you think it would be
Lexus in AZ quoted me $609 to do all three pulleys. Shocked they would even do it and they won’t be the cheapest. An Indy shop that knows the 2UR engine probably could do it for half that.
You apply loctite 660 that came with the package? How bout thread lock on the crank bolt?
I didn’t get any Loctite with the package, and no as stated in the video I did not put Loctite on the crank bolt. I believe that the new units come with the Loctite already installed on the Alan bolts that are on the back side of the pulley
I can’t wait to own me a gsf if the price is right 😂😂w tho but they still expensive in the market for used
The water pump is the one that you held in place. The scavenge pump is the other one.
Yes I realized that after the fact lol. Same difference
Does this void any warranties?
Yes and no. If any of the pulleys were to somehow cause a failure, that particular failure would not be covered under warranty. However, the pulleys do not automatically void your warranty no
Do you think using this damper will short the life on the engine? RR Racing says it will not. What do you think?
Honestly, I wouldn’t have installed it if I felt it was going to harm my engine in any way
For another perspective to reiterate, my Lexus dealership told me they would do the install for me if I wanted. They are familiar with RR and would never have been ok installing an aftermarket part unless they were confident it wouldn’t damage the engine.
